Week of Jan 19 Pregnancy Check In

jess i use craigslist ALL THE TIME! To both buy and sell. I got my armoire and changing table on there, along with a ton of clothing and the baby bath tub just to name a few. ive found that most people i've dealt with have been honest. if you get a weird feeling go with your gut. when i sell i try to meet in a public place, unless its a huge peie of runiture but everyone who i sold to was really nice - mostly elderly people lol. and always do cash only deals when you sell. there are a lot of scammers out there. i'm sure it will go smoothly for you!

tana - enjoy your pics and i hoep the doctors appointment goes well for you. glad your ds is having a etter listening day, it really makes things so much easier for everyone :)

Skyy glad you are feeling better, sounds like you are getting pretty organized and ready for baby's arrival. I love the pink and brown combo, its really nice.

sorry so quick, just having some llunch (oatmeal) but gotta get to this report. check ya later!

wow our checkin just slid down the page haha. Well I got the stroller. It seems fine. looks good. just had a bit of dirt in the basket etc but doesn't look "used" or beat up in anyway. she was super nice and showed me how to fold it etc and then asked if I wanted it so that was nice she asked. so turned out ok! shew!

Well then I got my graco carseat and stroller yesterday. I have to say the stroller is larger than I expected. I DID see this stroller in walmart but it was up high on a platform with the tires off and pretty much bolted to the counter so I couldn't push it or pick it up or anything. (was a different coloring though that I didn't want) now that I see it and even folded down its pretty large. its going to take up most of my trunk space. sigh. I have an old graco stroller I'm going to toss. THe buckle broke off, it has no child tray etc.. very beat up. But I did buy it used and we used the HECK out of it. I am pretty sure its lighter and smaller than this but yet still sturdy. sigh!! its going to be too much hassle to send it back. They charge $25 for restocking plus I have to ship back with insurance. the box is enormous. well anyway. I DO like the carseat. The colors are more awesome in person than I expected. Its very snazzy looking in person. just looked "nice" online. Its more of a black and silver than black/grey than I expected. the green accent color is the same as expected. The stroller is really nice. Very trendy looking and sturdy but heavy and big. I picked the stylus cause I thought it was their middle sized stroller. should've got the metrolite. sigh.

I also started staining the chest of drawers in the garage. (over a tarp) and so far so good! I'm still scared though. I have to do the polyurithane coating after this. I got a water based stain/clear coat that is environmentally friendly and low VOCs. I couldn't really smell it at all in the garage (with the door open of course). I'm going to go work on it some more. I did most of the staining yesterday before it got too dark.

I got myself into WAY too many projects/purchases this month! lol. I hope DH doesn't check the account. eek. I was going to get the carseat/stroller next month and the jogger wasn't even on the radar. lol. My nesting is outta control! I was only going to do the dresser this month. eek.

Oh I forgot to say the appt was uneventful. I forgot to ask what I was measuring at but so far its been right on target. I've gained 20 lbs so far! sigh. I REALLY don't know where it went though. everyone still says I look the same except my belly sticking out. I guess I'm going to gain 35-40 this time around like last time. :p no matter how good I eat and workout everyday it'll still come on. I know that cause this last month I've been really really good and I gained the most weight this last month. ah well. I'm going to not think about it and workout and eat healthy cause its good for me and baby. what weight comes is what is supposed to come then. baby is kicking right now. just got me in the rib real good a few minutes ago. ha.

hi jess nad everyone to follow
glad you got your stroller and that your craigslist experience was not an awful one :) My stroller is large too, but its not heavy or cumbersome. i like it, and u can fold it easily with one hand

i got up this morning and did KCM's Ready STep Go, then we had to go to our appoitnemnt. THe baby is 6 pounds 9 oz right now! She has hair too according to the ultrasound lady. one face shot she took...wow, spitting image of my hubby!! they even have the same shaped head, at least at the angle the ultrasound is on. he had trouble seeing her face in the photo and said i was crazy when i said she looks like him haha. Everything is fine, i've gained 33 pounds as of today. Like you Jess, its nothing i'm doing wrong and i'm told its all belly. Oh, and my swelling feet of course. I'm not too concerned. Yea, i have bad eating days, but i also work out five days a week and im not over eating or being too too bad. Just the occasional bad days, but we are only human! Nothing else to report at the dr's. They swabbed me for strep b. next weeks i start going once a week and they said i get a pelvic exam. yippee skippy!

we just got back from grocery shopping, now its off to my dads friends house for a beef dinner. free food and no cooking for me. alyways fun :)

Hi everyone.

Jess--- I'm glad that you had a good experence with the stroller. It is nice about redoing the dresser for the baby. You are getting a lot done too.

Jen-- I happy that your appointment went well today. It is getting really close for you.

Tana-- how goes it with you? How are you feeling?

Today, I had my 33 weeks appointment. When I woke up, I wasn't feeling well. It was hard to explain. When I went to weight in, I told the nurse that I've gained about 7 pounds. and she said... well you actually lost 2 pounds. That was odd, because my scale at home is pretty good. Then I couldn't give a sample because for the life of me, I couldn't go to the bathroom. So the Dr. hooked me up to the Non-stress test thing and come to find out that I was contracting every 5 min or so. So I had to go to the hospital and do some test, drink some water (a lot of water). and get a shot to stop the contractions.
So... now I'm home in bed. I did feel better after getting that shot.

well.... good night ladies...

Skyy, wow! Having contractions already?! Oh my! Hope you're feeling better in the morning. You must have been mega-dehydrated.

Jess, it sounds like you're having a great time (nesting)! I think it's fabulous! It's all stuff you'll need plus (most things) will have some resale value to them.

Jen, that's so awesome they could tell the baby has hair! Very cool! I had no idea they could do that. Maybe since DS was born pretty bald. LOL I have a feeling she'll be a baldy too.

I thought I was going to pass out a couple of times during my u/s yesterday. It was strange. The table was on an incline, but not a lot. Once I laid down I started feeling uncomfortable, then started to get the cold sweat, nausea, dizziness, tunnel vision. I had to sit up twice because I thought I would faint. She was able to get all the measurements plus 6-8 pics for us, thank goodness. She told me the baby weighs about 4 1/2 lbs and is in the 49th percentile. Everything looked fine. I gained 4 lbs which surprised me since I only gained 2 during the holidays. Sum total weight gained so far is 29 lbs.

Skyy - you sound just like me! I am the same amount (33 weeks) as you and I had an episode last night. Had false labor. I am not sure what is going on with me. My dr wasn't on call, some other guy called me back at home. He was a real jerk, telling me that since my other babies were never pre-term, that I had nothing to worry about. I was crying in severe pain, contractions were 5 min apart, and the pain felt like menstrual cramps and I had a lot of pressure. I tried going to the bathroom and everything. I had to have my DH call my morning clients b/c I was too shaky and out of breath to talk. The dr. could have at least been nicer on the phone. I am okay this morning, but geez, don't they need to take it more seriously? I am not one to milk things and be a baby for nothing.

Good luck. Hope you last a few more weeks!

Clarissa

Clarrisa -I'm glad you and baby are ok!! hugs. maybe another sign to take it more easy. That Dr sounds like a real jerk. That is silly to think that because you didn't have preterm before it couldn't happen either.

Tana -Thats weird you felt like that. were they not concerned? I do feel uncomfy on my back but not about to pass out or anything. I have to roll over to breath better or sit up. Can you share your U/S pics?

Skyy- hope that doesn't happen again. Make sure to drink lots of water. I drink an electrolyte pack everyday in water, my DH has a box of them. Its like gatoraid without the flavor/sugar. I try to limit any other liquids like tea etc. And drink water atleast with breakfast and dinner. I let myself have iced tea w lunch. I could put an IV of tea in me so I have to watch it (for caffiene and sugar). Hope your feeling better!

Jen - I really like the new stroller. I guess I didn't realize how "small" my last one is so its an adjustment is all. I think the old graco is more like the metrolite in size I guess. So can we see your U/S pics too!? share! ;)

Thanks - and Jess, don't worry about the weight gain. We will lose it together! How far along are you? Hey, now that I am sitting on my butt, maybe I will gain some more weight and I'll be right up there with ya! Fun, fun!

Clarissa :)

Hi Ladies.
Clarissa--- I hope that you don’t have to deal with that doctor ever again!! I will never understand why some doctors make you feel that you are bothering them when something comes up. Isn’t that why they are there? I hope that you are feeling much better now.
Jess---I think that water was the key to why I was feeling so badly for days. I had started drinking decafe tea and not much water. I have learned my lesson!! I really didn’t know that lack of water was what was making me fell ill for days.
Tana—did you ever find out why you felt like passing out? If you don’t mind sharing, I would like to see the ultrasound pics too.
Jen—How are you doing today? How was your beef dinner?
Laura—how are you?
Not much to report today. I spent the day not doing much. I did cook dinner for the family tonight. I decided to go the easy route and make baked spaghetti. I am still working on crafts for the baby, and hope to post pics of a completed project tomorrow for all of you.

Skyy & Clarissa, glad to see that you two are feeling better! That had to be scary.

The u/s lady said the dizziness/nausea that i felt was normal. Something about the uterus weight pressing on the vena cava (um...or vena something..haha). When we walked into the u/s room there was a carpet square and a towel laying on the floor. The lady told us they had an "accident" in there and that's why they were there. I think a person earlier in the day must have thrown up there. She was worried when I was squirming around trying to get comfortable and when I said I was dizzy. I think I got dizzy because I knew I was short of breath and uncomfortable, but was trying to tough it out.

I'll post some u/s pics when I get onto our pc. I'm on DH's laptop and DS is on the pc playing on playhousedisney.com. It's so cold here and we're suppposed to have freezing drizzle. It's a lazy stay-inside day.

Hope everyone else is having a relaxing Sunday!

hi all
sorry for being absent during the weekend check in :) I had a very busy saturday.
I squeezed ina workout and then i had my shower the work girls threw for me and my hubby. it was coed and it was really nice. it was held outdoors by the lake. it was a good time. we got a lot of diapers and wipes, which are great, along wth a couple more outfits, blankets and other misc. baby things. no big items, but everything was wonderful.

now that the showers are done i have to go to BRUS and pick up the last needed things. Like a diaper genie. I"m trying to decide if i want a bouncy seat and a jumperoo too. Do you guys have those? If so do you find them useful ? im not sure what else to buy before the baby arrives. I cant believe its only three more weeks. Yikes!

Oh, about feeling dizzy and out of breath when you lie down, that is very common in pregnancy that is why a lot of people suggest not doing exercise on your back like abs or chest work. normally it doesnt bother me when i lie down but at y last ultrasound i started having breathing problems too. i was trying to breathe deeply and not let it show too much but it was getting hard. so the lady made me lie on my side to complete the ultrasound. So i think its pretty normal :)

weve had a very busy weekend. already went to church today and then we have to go to a BBQ at my DH's wocowrkers house, then maybe a trip to the babystore. Phew..this whole weekend flew by. i'm not used to being such a social butterfly!

Hope youare all having a great weekend

If a bouncearoo is what I think it is - and you hang it from the door in the middle, just be careful. I think they are somewhat dangerous and I sold mine right away after receiving it, years ago. It did look like fun though, from the baby's perspetive!

All I have left is my diaper genie too! Then I am all set for baby Brody to arrive!

Jen - Is a jumparoo the thing in the door? if so get one with a tray. I tried the ones without and the straps can smack them in the face. I quit using that kind right away. the tray one that never happened and they had somethign to put thier hands on. my boys LOVED that thing. Also the bouncer came in really handy for using the restroom or grabbing a shower real fast if DH wasnt' around. Or any other thing like that. make sure it has vibrations. My boys loved that too. But most have that now days. I like the kind where they kick and the toys light up or play music. That really keeps their interest for a bit. I'm definetly getting both of those too. I also like diaper genies. I'll get the new fancy one with the foot step. That'd be so nice to not have to touch it! ha.

Clarrissa -I'm only about to turn 27 weeks... so I will probably gain alot more. sigh. so far people think I'm really tiny though and I can't believe that people are just now really noticing that I'm pregnant. I got some looks of surprize today and people go "your pregnant?" lol. I'm like Uuuuhhh. yeah? haha. But I guess it has to be really out there for people to notice and it is now.

Tana- yay can't wait to see pics ;)

Skyy -what are you making? i'm really curious now. do share!

Hi everyone...

I feel a lot better this weekend. I finished up two projects, and feel good about them. I made pillow wall hangings to put over Anna's crib and redid my dinning room chairs. DH helped me with the chairs, so that was fun.

The baby has been very active today and that put my mind at ease for the moment. I got her the bouncy chair, not the one that hangs on the door hinge. I believe that we have everything in order..

I do have a question, there are so many different type of baby bottles out there. What type of bottle are you ladies using (if you are bottle feeding)? we picked up newborn Born Free brand, but I am thinking about the bottles that us the plastic bags. That is what I used years ago.

Well... good night ladies,

Skyy- how cute on the pillow letters! good job! and good idea. I may steal that idea. haha. I have a pattern for pillow letters in my closet but didnt think of that.

About bottles.. I dunno at all. I hear the born free are good and the bag kind. Guess your being careful for the BPA free stuff. I actually got a small pack of glass bottles incase I decide to pump and have some for outtings etc. I read all good reviews about them on amazon except they say to get different nipples for them. good luck on that. I'd read reviews on amazon on different bottles. I heard Dr Browns or something are good.

Well my new stroller is growing on me. I got out the ugly beat up old one that I can't believe we still had and put it next to it and it is a pathetic sight next to that new beautiful stroller haha. It also now has a broken shade on top of no seatbelt and no child tray. That thing is ready for the trash man! The only good thing was it was way lighter. I could pick it up with one hand but it was much sturdier (new) than an umbrella type. This new one is heavier but you know I wont be carrying a stroller anywhere anyway. Only in and out of the trunk and I can do that easy.

My dresser is almost done. I did the knobs and last coat of polyurethane today. I washed all the baby clothes I have so far so I can put them in there when its done. Just gotta dry. I'll bring it in tomorrow.
