Hi Laura,
Well the reassurance is this - you MUST put on weight to keep the baby healthy. You certainly do not want to starve yourself or the baby. The great news is you are already healthy and fit, so you will not gain a lot of fat. It sounds like you dont even eat enough, and you workout so PLEASE be careful. You have more than yourself to think about now. I always have to remind myself of that and have forced myself to eat lunch even when im not hungry because i know the baby needs nourishment. So you have to be a little selfless and just do it
Its hard, and seeing the numbers go up is really hard too. I know the first three months i was at the same weight and it was great. But i've gained over 30 pounds now. Do you know how HORRIFYING that is to me????? I would love to have just packed on 5 pounds! (Who would have ever thought i'd say that?!?!) haha.
Anyway, i workout too and im also fit as well, but we ARE pregnant and weight gain is not only NORMAL but essential! Of course people will start to notice becuase you will start to show more and more. But most likely they will tell you how adorable you are and how you are ALL belly. I hear that all the time, and even tho i feel like a huge beached whale, its still a nice thing to hear. My DH tells me i dont look pregnant from behind so that is nice too. Lately i feel gross and fat and my eating choices havent been the greatest. I need to get back on track so im going to try harder this week!
Anyway, rest assured that you will be just fine. REmember Ryan is DEPENDING on his/her mommy!!!! You MUST feed the baby. I already know you wont go overboard on eating, but please be sure to eat enough. THe baby needs about 300 more calories than you would normally eat. But since you workout, its probably even more. Just make sure you are both getting enough. And since you make healthy food choices, and workout for a living (lucky!!) you will do just fine.
So, try not to freak out so much about the weight gain. At least you dont sit at a desk all day like me!
Of course, everyone on here knows i've been freaking out about my own weight gain, but really, there is nothing you can do about it. You will gain weight, you are pregnant and its normal and healthy. And after baby, you will easily lose it.
Hopefully this has helped a little
Dont listen to other people. Usually they are very happy to see another person pregnant. I have found people are nicer to me (strangers) and that strangers will smile at me. That never happened before. So i guess people love when other people are preggo.
i have not had too much belly touching. a couple coworkers have touched my belly but i know them really well. i have not had a stranger come up to me though, thank goodness. that is just weird!!
you should get one of those T shirts that say "Dont Touch the Belly" haha
