Question of the day: Do you do anything extra or special for Halloween?

I don't anymore....when I was a kid, we went trick or treating and it was so much fun....back then, we didn't
Have the worries of today....it's s shame that kids today can't enjoy it like we did "way back when".....
I used to give out candy and enjoyed doing that as well, but for the last several years I haven't done that

Sorry I've been MIA - I did not workout for two days based solely on extreme busy-ness! It's been stressful around my house - i don't like stress!

Today I did more daily burn

and - we give out candy every year. we don't decorate other than having pumpkins outside.

Hi gals,

No real workout today, but I did walk around a gun show with my hub by for an hour and 25 minutes. Part of that time is spent stopping and looking at things. I got a Sterling silver ring with a blue stone actually in my size for $20. The vendor man was hitting on me[emoji44]. Haven't been hit on in a very very long time.

We also stopped at the bra store and I am down a band size,[emoji16] yay!!!
So I got a new everyday bra and a new workout bra in a smaller band size, I was a 40 DDD now I am a 38G.

Oh and we don't do Halloween.

Hi peeps! Todays workout was Cathe Live Boxing, HiiT blast and core. It's the 2nd time I've done it. Pretty nice. I enjoy seeing the kids on Halloween. I used to go with my daughter and her friends until she outgrew me. Now I go to my brothers house. He lives in a development with a lot of houses. I get to see the funny costumes and a lot of my kids from school. The adults all bring something to eat, pot luck style, my brother has a fire going in the fire pit. Its fun.

Henriette, how are you feeling? It's the countdown...! It's pretty exciting to have gone through your pregnancy with you. All I've missed is rubbing your belly when you need it. One of the teachers at work will come up to me (belly first) and I gently rub. She says it's relaxing. I had a COMPLETE stranger rub my belly. I was mortified and angry.

Another full Saturday, cleaning, laundry, Walmart, Food Lion........ugh! Did a 30 min. Blender ToneUp...I did
Cardio the last 2 nights, so I thought I would pick up some weights tonite.

In honor of Halloween, I might do Jenny Ford's Zombie Step on YouTube.....that might be fun....
I'm hoping to do a CatheLive tomorrow, don't know which one, maybe the latest, Metabolic Burn...

Gee Peg, your plans on Halloween sounds like a lot of fun....

Henriette, hang in there, it ain't gonna be as long as it's been! I'm so excited for you :)

Aw jeez Linda!! I had to go to Waldo’s too. I returned a carpet steam cleaner I bought from Walmart online. I didn’t have the box, I used it once and they accepted it without a problem. No restocking fee either! Good business.
 
Hey ladies ......everyone is off to a busy weekend I see! I think I did one of Jenny's zombie marches before, Linda. She's a lot of fun!! We just give out treats for Hallowe'en. A couple of years ago, we helped organize a charity costume brunch, although nothing like that this year. We aren't up to it.

Thinking of you & Mr. Baby, Henriette :) and hoping you're feeling okay. So sorry about all of the stress now Ceci. Way to go on not letting it keep you from your fitness though..... Do take care!! Missy, hope you've been feeling alright and are managing the anxiety you must be feeling about now. Oh, Annette, I hate shopping for bras, but it is something I need to do soon. lol. Sounds like you had a nice time shopping. Great job on keeping active on the weekend .....especially after teaching during the week. Peg, your Hallowe'en sounds like a blast ....like you, I get pretty excited about the kid's costumes. They can be so creative!! Excellent job on your workouts! You seem to be on a roll with Live. Linda, way to go on your workouts & getting your errands all done. I might need you to help with my pile of laundry here!! lol. Actually, that's the ONLY chore I don't mind. Something about the folding is mindful. Anyway, have fun with your Live tomorrow!!

I didn't feel like doing anything, but did a 17 min standing pilates warm/up + Linda Wooldridge 15 min Inner thigh routine. Also, went for a long walk earlier today while doing errands & having coffee. It was a lovely, sunny day.
 
Hi ladies,

Friday to Saturday night I barely slept. I slept really well until 1 in the morning and then at 2 I woke up again with a terrible stomach ache. No idea what was going on and I ended up being awake the rest of the night, eventually moving downstairs on to the couch so as not to disturb my bf. Most of yesterday I had a really bad stomach ache and obviously little energy so I really just relaxed all day reading and trying to nap now and again. In the afternoon/evening my bf also complained about his stomach so perhaps it really was just whatever has been going around and nothing related to the baby.

Last night I slept really well compared to the night before... so still up 4 times during the night and only a total of 7 hours, but compared to the previous night it felt great and I feel a whole lot better today. I still don't feel 100%, but my stomach is definitely feeling better. Not sure yet whether I am well enough to workout or just well enough to at least leave the house.

I am so glad that I didn't go into labor during my stomach troubles and at least got some sleep again. I am dreading the labor, especially if I go into it already exhausted... hence the extra resting now that it could be any day.

Peg - fortunately no strangers rubbing my belly. I am not a touchy feely kinda person, except for with my loved ones, so I am not sure how I would react if a stranger tried to rub my belly. Maybe I would turn into Kongfu Panda [emoji13]

Oh, I forgot to answer the question. Halloween is only just becoming more popular in the NL. When Magnus was younger we used to go to trunk & treat at his school, but they always do that on a Wednesday night and it coincides with his basketball trainings, which he cannot miss, so looks like we'll be skipping it again this year.

Ok, feedback please...I mentioned interval training to the ladies on Friday. Suggesting 1 min. of give it your all with jumping jacks, or jogging in place etc...., then 2 minutes of lower intensity moves, followed by 2 minutes of weight work , then starting over with another 1 minute of fast high intensity move like speed skate or football shuffle , 2 minutes of lower intensity, and 2 minutes of weight work, doing this cycle for a total of 5 cycles (With a warm up) so each cycle is 5 minutes long. Then starting over and go through it all again with or without changes then a cool down.

A couple of the ladies don't want a shorter workout they like the 50-60 minute time frame. So I axed the short workout that I had scheduled for Monday. Now trying to put together music for this interval workout.

Sound doable?? Thanks.

Annette - totally sounds doable and like a really good workout that will just fly by.

So I ended up trying a w/o today.
I started with Slim in 6, Burn it up... but stopped shortly after the warm up. Definitely not for me. I got it in a sale on Amazon and had never done it before and now after having lived through the warm up I don't think I will ever do it again. What a waste!

I then moved on to Barre Amped and did most of the DVD, only skipping the mat work and then I needed to have a bit of fun so I did 20min of a dance workout until my body started telling me that was enough. I think that was it for today, but it's not that late in the day yet so who knows.

Annette, that sounds like a great workout, I love variety....but I would have to substitute low jacks for the JJ's,
I just can't do more than maybe 3 at a time. Wish I could take the class!

Before church, I did Tamilee's Weight Loss Walk, then after church, lunch, and reading, I did the latest
CatheLive, Metabolic Burn...it is 48 min, which is a good time for me, and it was ok, but to be honest,
I like the older Metabolic Lives much better. I would have preferred chest flys/pullover combo, rear delt/rows
And things like that instead of bear crawls, crab walks, etc. I guess because I can't really do them and she
Doesn't offer a modification so I just kinda "winged it". Can't please everyone! I love Metabolic workouts,
So I will go back to the others.

Yes, most would be doing low impact jacks, I only have a few that can do full jumping jacks. Music is the tough spot, trying to cut and splice from songs we already own. It is proving challenging for my son.

Oh, don't you just hate it when you find something you really like and works for you, and it gets discontinued, etc. (Happens a lot for me with shades of makeup, and lately. sinus/allergy tabs, I found one that really worked for me and poof.....it was gone, then I found something else, couple boxes, and poof... it was gone. This time I hope I have found a name-brand that might stick around !! :)
 
Hi everyone. That happened to me with candy. I only found it online not in stores. I’ve been buying it for years and now the company stopped making them. Brachs Ice blue mint coolers. I loved them. I wrote to Brachs pleading with them. Apparently I have zero influence in their decision making. Who knew?! Annette I can’t help with music but your workout sounds nice. One minute can be a looong time for some people. It can provide a nice challenge.

Henriette I simply can’t believe you’re still working out. That’s serious dedication! Go girl. You got this and don’t fret labor. I’m betting it will be quicker for you than your first time. Who does Slim in 6? It sounds familiar. Glad you’re feeling better too.

Linda, are you saying Cathe’s latest workout was so so? I was going to do it this week.

Today I did ICE Low Impact sweat with the blizzard. Then I did most of ICE Legs and glutes. I’m trying to exhaust my quads. I’ve been having restless legs at night. Has anyone els experienced this? It sucks! My legs feel like they’re ready for a sprint but I’m tired. They get twitchy. Grrrrr!

Ok. I did 30 minutes of the new interval workout and if I can do a minute then they can too[emoji6][emoji28]. They can always modify, but the whole point is to shock your system with a new approach so we shall see how it goes.

I will re-visit again sometime...I did find modifications for Crab walks or toe touches, and bear crawls, and lo &
Behold the moves I did in place were the same modifications, more or less. So now, I will be more inclined to do
It again in the future. OMG, ITS BEEN RAINING HERE ALL DAY! and a little damp & chilly. Kinda depressing!
