Hey there,
I need help! I am getting married in about two months. I have been very slack about diet and exercise. Things have been very stressful and instead of turning the stress into something useful like exercise I ate. I know I don't have much time but I need a rotation to help me lose a few pounds and get my arms in shape. I am not expecting a miracle by the way. My main problem is I am an Emergency room nurse and work 12 hour days. I get up at 5 in the morning and don't get home till after 8. These are really hard days! I work 3-4 days a week. I just can't work out on those days. So, any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Hi congrats on your wedding! I work in the medical field too so I understand your time dilemma. Since time is limited concentrating on your diet is a little more important than stressing yourself about getting in a specified number of workouts. For the next two months, eat tons of fruits, veggies and lean protein sources, keep carbs limited to what's in your veggies, whole grains and oats, and drink tons of water.

For your workouts, I had my best arm shaping with CTX Upper Body. I would altnerate this with Pyramid Upper Body maybe every week or every 2 weeks to avoid boredom. For cardio get in an interval workout like Interval Max and a kickboxing workout b/c that also works your arms and lats nicely. If you have a fourth day to workout I'd include a cardio and weights combo workout like Step Jump and Pump, Bootcamp, Cardio&Weights or Circuit Max. Or maybe one week when you have only 3 days to workout replace one of your pure cardio workouts with a cardio&weights combo.

Good Luck and don't forget to get enough sleep!

I love the ctx upper split like Stacy. I do 2 or 3 weight training focusing on endurence using ME, CTX upper split and Power Hour.In your days without work,3, I think you can do lot of things:

1) the premix cardio of cardio and weight and the upper body premix in ME.Yesterday I did the bootcamp premix with cardio and lower body and it is 32 minutes of a great workout.

2) Use one of the two premix of IMAX 2 and ctx upper split.

3)You can do one half of MIC and weight training.
4)The timesaver dvd is a good option.

These are only sugestions. There are lot of options to choose.Have fun. :)

The other suggestions are good.

If you have one day when you can work out longer, Body Max is a good option. Don't be intimidated by the length. It is not as intense as some (MIC, IMAX) but it's fun and no-nonsense, and you can take breaks if you're not time crunched.

It has a nice upper-body section (see "How to shorten Body Max" thread in Video/DVD forum)

Hi there :)

I'd like to use you suggestion for shaping my arms too because I've always had big arms for the size of my body, and I am also getting married next year ;-)

However, I cannot find CTX Upper Body. Is it just in the CTX DVD, and it's the 10 10 10?

Thank you

Congrats on the wedding! I just got married in October and I was in your same situation a few months ago. I had a whole year to get in shape for my wedding, but with the demands of my job I just could never find the time to workout regularly. About 1 1/2 months before my wedding I talked to people on this forum and found out that the best way to see definition in your arms in that short of a time is to do very heavy weights and lots of cardio. Before that, I had been focusing on more endurance/circuit type workouts, but was not getting toned. So I started doing Pure Strenght and Pyramids, and during the last few weeks before the wedding, Cathe put out the October "Upper body bliss" rotation which was really helpful.

What I generally did was do heavy weights for upper body or cardio in the morning (following the October Rotation), and then at night I added on a quick cardio, like a 20 min quick jog/walk. I have crazy hours too, so I focused only on upper body (the part people would actually see) and didn't waste my time too much with lower body work. I just made myself go to bed early so that I could get up and do my morning workout. When I was laying in bed not wanting to get up in the morning to workout, I just visualized how I wanted my pictures to look and that motivated my to get out of bed and work hard.

Diet is another big factor if you are looking to look lean and toned, but I am probably not the best person to talk to about that since I have a hard time doing that myself.

Hope this is helpful!
