Wedding Dress Shopping!

CollinsMom

Cathlete
My mom is visiting for the weekend, so she and I are going wedding dress shopping today! My fiance's mother and sister will be joining us. My son Collin is also going -- Lord I hope he can behave!

I am so excited! I wasn't planning to go for another month or two, but I just can't help myself!

OMG, I had such a BLAST shopping for my dress! I hope you feel the same way! Let us know how it goes!!!!:+

Oh yes, pictures please!:) Be sure to take along some water, when you start your "power shopping" you will get thirsty, so drink up:) And yes, I speak from experience here.;)

I'm back!

Oh my goodness, that was the most fun I have had in a LONG time!! I felt like such a princess standing up on that stool in front of all of the mirrors, and everyone oohhhing and aahhhing.

I am not 100% about any dress I tried on. I really liked 3, but I need to do more shopping.

My favorite dress of all costs -- brace yourself -- $1400. I'm just not sure I can spend that on a dress!

I totally lucked out with my dress - years earlier, my grandmother (who's an amazing seamstress and upolsterer (sp?)) came across 30 yards of off-white Italian silk at a yard sale for $25 and hung onto it for a future dress someday for one of her granddaughters - Lucky me!!! :7

All I had to pay for was the zipper and beading for the trim! It was a beautiful and very simple dress (so happy with it, especially because it was 90 degrees out when we got married!).

Have fun with your decision! ;-) :)

Katie:

Do you have a David's Bridals near you? That's where I found my dress. I saved A TON of money that way!!!!!:)

Just a thought....

Yes, my next adventure will be to a David's Bridal. The closest one is in Richmond, about 2 hours away. I am going there in about a month (October 20th).

Maybe I will fall in love with one on that day. Right now I just feel stressed!

>Don't stress. When you find the right dress, you will know
>it!:)

Exactly what I was going to say! I also got my dress at David's Bridal. I think it was 450, but I had people guessing it cost much more (heck, it was expensive enough for my poor mother who was the one who paid for the dress--everything else was paid for by my father and stepmother). However, I still remember a dress I actually liked more than the one I got, but it was a couple hundred bucks more, so I spared my mom and picked the cheaper one. The dress I got was lovely and I'm glad I saved my mom the money, but sometimes I wish I had that other dress!
