Good morning Fit Friends!

Happy HUMP Day!!

Yesterday was P90X Legs, AbRipperX, 45 min.& hill climb on stationary bike .

Today is just Cardio of choice and right now I'm thinking Imax2. A favorite of mine and all of you have been talking about it recently!

Who knows if I actually stick with that.......? I feel indecisive! Since I am on a rotation and everyday the workout is picked out for me, when I have a day I get to choose, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning! Which present do I pick to open first ????:7

Anyway.....will post again later if I change my mind.

Happy workouts!!

Good Morning.

Have a good rest Phyllis and let us know what you come up with!

Have fun with IMAX2 Becky!

I have a VERY stiff/sore neck, shoulder and back on my left side. It hurts to yawn! I have NO idea what I did but I don't think working out is wise. I had a run planned. I think it will need to wait unless I end up making a miraculous recovery by 10am! I took 2 motrin. Maybe that will ease it so that I can atleast function around the house better...picking up DS is going to be a challenge...

OUCH Wendy!

I feel your pain!

I seem to pull muscles all the time anymore...often just from sleeping funny.

I do take motrin and also use those heat patches,... sometimes they give relief. And if your DH will rub it at night with IcyHot or BenGay......LET HIM!!! It helps!!

Hope you feel better fast!!

Hi Becky.

I had DH put some Bengay type stuff on it last night. It felt wonderful while it was working but it wore off unfortunately...LOL! I woke up every time I wanted to roll over in bed because it hurt. :-( I am going away this weekend for some fun...it better be gone by then!

Good Morning Fit Chicks!

This morning for me will be PS & MIS Shoulders, MIC step only and MIS Abs.

Phyllis: Enjoy your rest day.

Becky: IM#2:7 :7 :7 :7

Wendy: I hope your neck feels better soon. I second everything Becky suggested.

Hello to all that follow...have a great day!

Morning all!

Phyllis - enjoy your rest day... let us know what evil challenge you come up with:)

Becky - oooooh, yay for Imax 2:)

Wendy - sorry to hear you're in pain - rest that shoulder/back and if it doesn't get better, have it looked at.

Tammy - I've never broken down MIC and done parts of it. I should look at doing that:)

Well, I'm definitely hitting the walk-in medical clinic this morning because the entire left side of my face is very painful and I'm thinking I have a sinus infection.

I managed to do HSTA last night, but any parts where I had to lean over hurt my face:p Today is Powermax.

Have a great day!

Good morning,
I have Step Blast and ME abs on tap today. Lost 2 pounds, so feeling good about that.

Shelly--sounds like sinuses to me. Hope you find relief soon

Wendy--you too, hope the neck heals ASAP

Tammy- sounds like a good one

Phyllis- have a nice rest, anxious to see what you think of

Becky--have a killer Imax2!!

Have a great day!!

Daily Check-in

Good morning! I am really tired this week for some reason. My cycle started Monday and is unusually heavy this month. That might be a contributing factor. I started previewing a workout after work yesterday and fell asleep! I had a 3-hour unplanned nap!

After my unplanned nap, I did Timesaver 2 for the first time last night. It appears that I will be doing evening workouts this week. This one starts with the third combination from Step Blast followed by the first 2 sections of high impact floor aerobics from Step, Jump, & Pump and some good back and core work. I did it! I did it! I finally learned the third combination of Step Blast! It is so much fun. I definitely want the Body Blast Series on DVD. I am not sure I ever would have mastered this one with the VHS version. I really like having the option of the “normal mix” so I can focus on Cathe’s cuing. The music on the VHS version I have is louder than the “music louder” option on the DVD. I always had a hard time focusing on Cathe’s cuing. I am so glad I tried this DVD. I thought I did not like Step Blast and would never get it. I love it now! Timesaver 2 is much more intense than the first one, so I did not feel the need to do anything extra. I am so excited that I can finally do Step Blast. Now I understand why it is so popular. My first experience was extremely frustrating, and my subsequent attempts were not much better. This is the most complex choreography I have learned, and I feel so accomplished now. This Timesaver DVD is a gem in my opinion. It is not as intense as the CTX Series, but I love it!

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Daily Check-in

Good morning Ladies!!

Phyllis have a nice rest day. You deserve it!

Hi Becky! I just read where Imax2 is the #1 favorite workout around here. Have fun!

Breaking down MIC sounds like a great plan Tammy. It's so dreadful all at once.

Hope you feel better Wendy and Shelley!

Good job on the weight loss Megadoo!

Hope you get some energy Heather!

Today I am doing Circuit Max and Ab Hits. I'm on day 3 of the May 03' rotation which is Variety Training. Supposed to confuse the muscles. We shall see. Hopefully I'll stick with it to the end!

Have a great Hump Day Ladies!

RE: Daily Check-in

Good morning everyone,

Wendy, I have the same problem ( somewhat chronic ), on my right side. I actually have to wear a neck brace while I sleep to keep my head properly positioned so as not to hurt my neck. Motrin and Tiger Balm has been a great benefit. If it does not improve I go to the doctor for muscle relaxers, which really do the trick. If you end up going to the dr, they may want to xray for disc issues, which is not a bad idea.

I like using the Tiger Balm and heat combined, it really is good!

Today was L & G, and ab hits 2.

Have a good day!

RE: Daily Check-in

Enjoy your rest day Phyllis

Becky...how are you liking P90X?

Wendy...I do hope your body feels better, I a huge Advil fan...:)

Good workout Tammy...

Shelley...it does sound like a sinus infection! Yuk...I hope you feel better soon...

Congrats Maeghan on the weight loss...:)

Way to go with Stepblast. I agree Timesaver is great for learning steps...:)

Have fun with Circuitmax Kali...its a fun one

Conni, L & G is a tough one but time really goes by for me .

Yesterday I finally got a very nice well needed massage. I feel great today. I'll be doing P90X Back & Biceps, abs and a 5 mile run...

RE: Daily Check-in

I'm back. I did end up changing things up a bit. I did IMAX2 1-5 and the step premix from cardio & weights.
Great workout. :D

Carole, I am LOVING P90X so far!! I have had DOMS after each workout too, so I KNOW I am working things hard and in a different way! Love the variety and I don't mind Tony at all! I was worried after reading that he seems to annoy some people but I think he's kind of funny.

I NEED a bar or the bands with the door attachment SOON so I can join in on ATTEMPTING to do those chinups and pullups! }(
Until I get that, I'm just trying out the workouts I CAN do and mixing them up with Cathe workouts.

Great workouts everyone!!!

RE: Daily Check-in

Becky...P90X is great for DOMS!! I think I still have some from Chest Shoulders & Triceps monday!! Tony never bothered me either. I have a weight machine I can do the dreaded pull-ups and chin-ups with (assisted of course), but I think the bands would be fun....:)

Good morning!

Last night I did IMAX3 and BC Core premix. I really, really like IMAX3, despite the fact that the intensity of the blasts gives the workouts a high dread factor. I'd still do IMAX3 over MIC any day. The choreography is really, really good. And I love interval 7 (jumping jacks off the step). My legs are feeling it this morning. Surprisingly, I'm not feeling any DOMS from GS CT on Monday night. Maybe because I did my cardio and stretching after the weight workout, I flushed out the lactic acid really well?

I started drinking coffee again this week (some of you might remember my saga of getting off the bean a year ago, when I was pregnant). I can no longer resist the lure, and I figure life is too short to go without coffee and chocolate (and it's even better when they're together!). I've already given up animal foods; I need a vice! So far my one cup in the morning doesn't appear to be affecting the baby, who I'm still nursing. And see how chatty it makes me? :+ I am much more productive LOL!

Caitlin - BM is intense, long, and (eventually) a lot of fun.

Phyllis - I'm looking forward to whatever you come up with. Cathe will be posting the June rotation soon; I'm looking forward to seeing what she comes up with this month.

Becky - I love your cardio today! I'm going to keep that one in mind for another day.

Wendy - oh geez, that sounds awful. I hope the motrin works. Does Joey have a word or two yet? Is he toddling on two feet? Katie started crawling last Friday.

Tammy - I can't believe you're doing the PS and MIS workouts at the same time. Do you go a bit lighter than if you were doing them each seperately? Are you seeing some good results?

Shelley - oooh, a sinus infection! Yuck. DH had one of those a year ago, and he got some relief by putting a heating pad on the sore area. It loosened up the congestion and helped clear it through (read: he snot a lot afterwards).

Maeghan - fun, fun workout today!!

Heather - great work on SB today! It's my favourite Cathe-cardio hands-down. You won't regret getting the BB series on dvd. The premixes on the SJP/SB dvd, especially, are fantastic. If you liked TS#2, you will love the SJP/SB premixes.

Kali - if I ever get my vhs player hooked up again, I'm looking forward to doing CM. It's a great workout (did you make the monkey sounds? LOL!)

Conni - LG! Fun!

Carole - MMMMMMMMassage! When's your next big run? July?

I think I've chatted long enough today. Have a great one!

Sandra (aka The Caffinator)

OK - don't laugh, I did TaeBo Cardio today. I've been trying to mix up my cardio so that I don't do all step. I remembered thinking that this video was tough back several months ago. Well, I kept waiting for the hard part to start. When Billy Blanks started the cool down, I was like "What, already?? I'm not even breathing hard!!!" I'll have to do something else tonight to make up for that lame workout.

It did make me realize just how far I've come from twelve months ago when I couldn't even do the first 15 min of any workout without gasping for breath.

Phyllis - I'm up for any challenge that you come up with. I'll just need some guidance on doing a mish mosh since I'm not entirely sure what they are. Enjoy your rest day!

Shelley & Wendy - hope you both feel better soon

To everyone, have a great sunny day!!

Gym Mom, I do taebo all the time it is a nice change from Cathe and a good workout, plus I can't step much anymore. I add weighted gloves and ankle weights to his workouts and that really adds intensity. So nobody will laugh or they will be laughing at more than just you.

I did the warm up and 3 combos off of KPC along with the power drills off of Cardio Kicks and then the abs off of Body Max. Nice workout and I am very sore from yesterday's weight workout.

The carpet people didn't show up yesterday but are supposed to be coming at 12:30 today so I will be moving furniture this afternoon.

Have a great day!!:)

Good afternoon,

Well, I workout this morning again. I was late to work but it was worth it. It did step from SJP and the punching and kicking segment from KPC. I had a hard time with KPC but got through it.

Like I said yesterday, I am traveling tomorrow. Any sugestions for DVDs that don't require any equipment. I have a friend who owns every Cathe DVD so I can get any workout. This would be a great help. Thank you :)

Thank you, Phyllis, and I have been attempting to do longer workouts in my struggle to lose a few more pounds. Enjoy your rest day.

Tonight, I am going to the gym and running on the treadmill, and then taking the step class after. Ladies, I have a copy of Fitness Prescription that states, in order to get a beach ready body, you should do 60 to 90 minutes of cardio a day at 85 percent of your maximum heart rate, and that will burn 700 to 1000 calories.

I think it is almost impossible to burn 700 calories in an hour unless you are quite heavy. What do you think?
