Web Interview that Cathe did...

Another reason to love Cathe....thanks for the post

The shirt is something I wear when skiing. They've been around forever. Perhaps I've seen more of them living in the chilly northeast. But when the weather is cold or you have many layers on, they work great!

I love how she calls her exercise equipment her toys, that's exactly how I feel when shopping for new fitness stuff to play with. X

Yes i have seen Fabletics and will shop to try out :)

The tops are nicely cut.:):)

I do personally prefer brand below because of the way they cut their bottoms.
They fit my curvy hip like a glove;)
They stay PUT throughout the workout, meaning they don't roll up and down:rolleyes::rolleyes:

The jacket has the thumb hole cut. Love it

Hi Nathalie,

Do you know the specific brand of the outfits you sent the link to? I want to see if the brand is sold here in the States. It looks like the store doesn't have a present in the States. Also, do you know if the sizes are the same, i.e., is a US 14 the same there or a size bigger or smaller? I'm asking because I recall when Sarah Ferguson married Prince Andrew the media kept reporting that she wore a size 16 (which I didn't see as anyone's business). Then someone, maybe a publicist, reported that she actually wore a 14 by U.S.measurements.

I would like to know because the outfits are really cute and as a fellow "curvy hip", your first hand knowledge that they they stay put makes me want to give them a try. I know I'll get hosed on the customs fees so if I can save $ by buying them here that would be great. I don't mind the shipping fee so much, although it definitely makes the outfits less of a bargain than they would be if I got them in Europe.

Fees or not, I'm seriously thinking of buying an outfit or two. I want to be sure about the size because its doubtful I'll return anything.

Thanks for the info!

Has anyone seen fabletics.com? They have a very similar top to the one Cathe is wearing here -- blue workout hoodie with thumb holes. Perhaps the same one. They have a deal where you get a full workout outfit for around $25 (and free shipping/exchange/returns) when you sign up to be a VIP member. With the VIP membership, you are charged for and sent a new workout outfit every month. But you can just cancel your membership right away after you get the special intro deal. That's what I did.
The outfit that includes the top is called Drift, I think.
Here's the link:

Thanks MominVT!

I went to the link but they don't have it in my size. Bummer.
Have you tried any of their products? They have good deals it appears but I'm wondering about the quality and how it feels to wear the outfits.

What part of Vermont are you in. I was in northern VT last month. I'll be back out there on the 12th.

Thanks again for the link.

I thought it would feel constricting since sleeves usually don't extend to the hands like that. Did you have to get used to wearing tops like that?

It appears that the consensus is that they are good for warmth so I thinking about getting one. It doesn't get so cold here in Southern Cal compared to other parts of the country (and world) but chilly enough that a shirt like that could be useful. Plus, I travel to Vermont quite a bit. I can definitely use it there.

Thanks for the info!

Hi Teals,
I haven't tried any of their clothes. I did order one outfit (with the special intro deal) but it hasn't arrived yet. I'll let you know when I receive it and give it a try!

I'm in Montpelier, although I went to school in Quebec, so I know very northern VT well!
Did you enjoy the foliage?
Roz

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade. However, there was a post on Fabletics last May or June I believe. Those that had tried their product, were not impressed. Not to be negative, just posting what I read. A thread posted June 17, 2014.

Thanks for the heads up! Not too surprised, but I figured that at $25 for an outfit and free shipping, it was worth a try. Oh well...

I checked out Fabletics too! I'm all about a bargain.....but you know the saying...."if it seems too good to be true.....". The reviews were NOT good!

Hi Nathalie,

I've never PM'd anyone on the forum before. How do I do it?
Thanks,

Hi Roz,

Yes the foliage was at its peak from what I was told and it was beautiful. I flew into Manchester, NH so I saw lots of beauty along the way driving to VT. I didn't get to Montpelier this time but I did the last time I was there. Actually, I'm going back at the beginning of next month for a couple of weeks. The weather was great in October but I know I need to be prepared for snow this go round.

I'm hoping to get my hands on a couple of those funny shirts I asked about that cover part of the hands. The consensus is that they will help keep me warm. I was out there last year when he temp got down to 20 below I believe. I'm hoping things won't get that bad this time but I'm a California gal so my cold tolerance is pretty low. During last month's trip it was beautiful and temperatures reached as high as 80. I was quite comfortable having left triple digit temperatures at home but my family and the other people I was around were dying.

Hi Teals,
So glad the weather cooperated for your last trip. But you're right, be prepared for some cold temps this month!
The Fabletics outfit is fine, glad I got it at $25 + free shipping. The top with wristy things is a fairly light fabric -- fine for me to workout indoors, or as a layer for outdoors, but it's not heavy duty stuff (obviously, at that price).
Lululemon makes a much nicer, heavier-weight one, too. Or at least, they did. It is fitted nicely and has a tiny zipper pocket that you could throw a key, credit card, and perhaps a small phone in.
Enjoy all your travels!
Roz

Many Athleta brand tops have the thumb holes. I LOVE them and always receive compliments when wearing an Athleta top. Price wise, Athleta is not inexpensive, but to me, the quality is well worth the price. The clothes last for years.

Hi Everyone! How fun to see this thread. I'm so inspired by all of YOU!!!! I truly mean it when I say "we're in this together"! Thank you for your loyal support over the many years! Btw, the blue top with the thumb hole cut outs I had on in the latest interview was by Lululemon. I purchased it last year. I love it. It looks like a fitness business suit with how tailored and sleek it is....but it totally wears like a fitness outfit with comfort and durability! Have a great day :)

I just came across this web interview Cathe did that appears to be from a few months back (prior to most recent road trips). Maybe it's already floated around the forum and I am again, late to the party. My time on the forum ebbs and flows so I try to soak in as much as I can while the getting-is-good.

I thought the interview was interesting once it got going. I always wondered what inspires Cathe to come up with her workouts. I found her response to that question interesting along with her insight into the benefits of "Cathe Live". At the end she even shows us some cute silver leopard print tennis shoes (or as you east coasters call them, sneakers.

I thought the shoe question was weird until Cathe gave her response. Then I was thinking that I need to get me some of the shoe laces that she mentioned. I won't bother with the shoes. I'm a size 12. Most of the cute women's athletic shoes only go up to size 11 or the size 12s are out of stock. I don't bother anymore.

Anyhow, here is the interview link, for those of you who have not seen it:

Enjoy!

Fitness Friend,
Teals

PS: If any of you know why the sleeve of Cathe's top extends to her hands like a partial glove, please enlighten me. I'm curious to know if its a trendy fashion type deal or something related to a particular type or workout.

I absolutely love the motto she quotes in this interview: "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you." Not only true for workouts, but for life itself. Gotta love her...and that quote is going right on my FB page! :D
