We hired a worker displaced from his job and home in New Orleans yesterday and I feel good that we have directly helped one flood victim and his family. His qualifications were great...we didn't hire him because of his situation but we all felt good that we made a difference in this person's life.
On another note, we had another individual with no qualifications for what we do that was so desperate for a job that he was walking door to door and going in and inquiring about possible job opportunities. He said he would do anything, take out the trash etc...but we already have these type of workers. I feel that an indiviual like this would be a great employee and I would like to talk HR into bringing him on in some capacity. Any ideas on how to present this or what kind of job to offer him when we currently have no job opening for which he is qualified. Anyone in the Philly or NJ area have anything for him?
