~~~~Watercooler Trash Talkin Thursday~~~~
Good morning all!! Took the diva to her last day of computer camp...now I am headed with my mom to look at furniture. One of the big companies is closing here and they are having a great sale. I am in the market for a dinette set for the kitchen....so we'll see. :) I should get to my workout this afternoon....KM leg drills with ankle weights and one section of CM. DD is going to VBS tonight, so CBL and I are going to a minor league bb game. She also has a sleepover tomorrow night with one of her school friends, so that will be good for her. :D
Tracy...
Yes...I am still the napper!!!!! I love my afternoon naps...They really make me a nicer and happier person. Hope things are going well with your family...How is FIL doing?? I know you guys must be going through a tough time right now. Hugs to you.
Kim...
It sounds like no fun to wait around in your car for 2 hours while the kids play football in the rain!! Is that supposed to make them tougher or something????:confused: DD is in a computer camp and she loves it! She made her own power point presentation. I don't even know how to do a pp presentation!!
Wendy...
Thanks for starting us off this morning! Hope Phil is over the trauma of doing your hair!
Okay...gotta run...back later this afternoon!!
Getting ready to head off to art lessons.
My last post yesterday was at the PTs. I was punching my Blackberry while the heating pads were on my shoulders. I had to go because the PT assistant was ready to ultrasound my shoulders. Thought I should clarify.
When I go to PT, one of the assistants takes me to the exam rooms to heat my shoulders with ultrasound and heating pads. Then I go to the gym area to do my exercises with pulleys, bands, and weights. The assistants walk me through the workout for the day. The PTs are in the room. They watch, may make comments, and wait until I'm ready for stretches. They do the stretches at the end.
Well, Paul, my regular PT, wasn't there yesterday. I had another guy who was a great communicator. He watched my form during the exercises. He had me move my hands and arms while watching my back. Thankfully, I was wearing a racerback top, so he could see my scapula moving. Apparently, my muscles don't like to play together!:eek: They are making my rhomboids do most of the work!!! Those LAZY delts are not very happy with having to work. ALL those exercises in all the different planes (seated, prone, supine, sideways, standing) will get them playing nicely.
We also discussed inflammation and pain. The inflammation in my rear delt area isn't a problem. In fact, today the inflammation has gone down considerably!!! And, the pain isn't a searing pain. I'm not shy about working through pain or inflammation. I wanted to make the pain and inflammation wasn't going to hold me back from healing.
Good news. We're not going to cover only anatomy Friday night. The school wants us *hands on* more than once a week. I can handle that!:cool:
I'll be back to catch up on personals after art lessons. I might do some yoga tonight. I've got a massage practice and appointment later this afternoon. Better double check the time!!!:eek:
Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
I still haven't made it up to exercise...but if anyone is interested, there are some new pics on my picture trail of my XDH and the diva while they were on vacation. Just go to my profile and it is listed as my homepage...back in a bit!
Hi Debra!
I'm here!:D As soon as we got home from art lessons, I had to turn around and get ready to leave to meet Patti. I just walked in the door about ten minutes ago.
I'm going to do some yoga tonight. Care to join Eoin and me?;) Going to check out your pics.
Wendy
Wendy, I love the picture of all your kids! What ages are they all?? Debra I couldn't see your new pics, but my dd enjoyed looking at the pics of your dd.
Just did most of YogaX, quit early as I was getting some lower back spasms that seem to be getting worse.
This morning I had a dream that I was holidays, sure made waking up and going to work harder.
Here's a little funny from one of my patients yesterday
Last month we saw X in the clinic because his hand had a big open infected wound from a human bite. He never returned for his return therapy appointment. Yesterday he was booked in again. His hand had healed well enough to punch a window and lacerate many things. I asked him why he had punched the window. He said he hadn't punch the window, he jumped through it (a closed window) Why, I asked. " Man, I went to the wrong party".
Whatever, there is really a whole different world out there then the one we live in. Today, I saw another patient who was wrestling with a friend and went through the living room window? Lots of broken windows around here, good thing it's warm out.
