I just found out last week and I have tons of questions. I haven't seen my docter yet (next week!) so I am not sure exactly how far along I am. Probably about 8 weeks. I have a 2 year old so I am pretty busy. Thought there maybe some more preggos out there looking for answers/friends/advice/etc.

I have kept exercising 6 days a week and feel pretty good so far. I just finished a P90X round so it is sad to see all my hard work disappear into the bloat. Anybody else feel huge already? My eating hasn't been the best...all I want is junk! I have had some kind of junk everyday for a week!:-( I wonder what kind of workout rountine everyone has? I know I am going for mantinice but I am not sure what weight workouts I should do. I did the gymstyles this week but I had to make myself. All I feel like doing is cardio but I don't want to lose my strength! I usually do 2 leg days but I think I might drop one. I don't know...can you tell I am babbling? :D What do you ladies do? I want thinking, provided I feel up to it, of keeping 6 days through the 1st trimester and then dropping to 5 in the second and 4 in the last? I also practice yoga 3xs a week and I was looking at all the prenatel ones. Do you think I can use my regular ones until 12 weeks or so? Obviously a lot of questions!

So I will end it here and see if anyone else wants to play? :p

hi there! congrats on your pregnancy! your routine sounds good so far. the important thing is to listen to your body (you will hear lots of people tell you that including your doctor!) but exercise is so good for you and the baby. keep it up but don't go past what you think you can do. if you need rest, rest! especially first trimester when baby is developing so much.

i am 19 weeks along and i am feeling really good. i had fatigue in first trimester which made it hard to workout but i did manage to workout every day even if it was just a walk. fatigue subsided i feel back to normal (except for ever-increasing belly lol) but i've been a runner for many years so i still get my runs in, just slower :) and i lift weights with cathe 3-4 times/week. this morning i did kick, punch & crunch this morning and it felt great!!

this week we found out we're having a boy and he is doing great. very active during ultrasound, so neat! are you going to find out the sex of your baby or let it be a surprise?

A boy!!!!!! How exciting! Boys are so fun! Did you get any good pictures? I have one from my ds and I can't wait to see my new lo!!! We are definatly going to find out the sex, I can't imagine waiting 9 months! Although it probably would be worth it I can't wait that long!

I am glad you are feeling so good! I am pretty tired but I get a nap everyday when ds sleeps so it really isn't too bad. I think I am used to being tired already so it just feels normal.:D How is the running with your belly? I didn't exercise with my first and now I know better! I love to run but I am worried about how the impact will be when I get bigger. Who am I kidding I am already bigger! I feel like a blimp already. My stomach looks so bad I can't wait for the baby to get bigger and fill it out cause right now I just look like I have been hitting the buffets!

I am planning on just listening to my body and just working how I can. Are you doing abs? I am not sure how that is going to work out. I am working my core right now hoping to build up my lower back more. What cathe weights are you doing? I am worried about pushing myself with the weights, I know I need the energy spent on making a baby not building muscle!

I am going to go do some yoga I think. Not feeling very motivated right now but I know I will feel so good after. Thanks for posting! I didn't realize how much I wanted to chat about all of this. :)

Hi, I'm due with #3 the beginning of Jan. So, about 14 wks along. This pregnancy has been a lot different than the other two with a lot of ms. :-( I have continued to workout in the mornings, but I've had to cut back. Even doing the LowMax premixs are knocking me out. I was running and working out pretty hard prior to getting pregnant, but I've been finding myself getting very fatigued and out of breath easily. I'm not sure if it's because I am living in a higher altitude this time or with my other pregnancies I wasn't working out as much.

Congrats on your pregnancy! :) I have been VERY bloated too so I think it's normal unfortunately.

Well, the other kiddos are having a fit, so I have to go. Hope to talk to you again later.

You're lucky! in my 1st trimester, i couldn't do anything cuz i was tired all the time....

it was like pms that lasted 3 months long
:+ :+ :+

I had the worst ms with my first one. It was awful. I can't imagine working out like that! I do feel really lucky, my workouts really haven't suffered at all. I am just not pushing myself as hard. I am the meanest women in the world. I swear I just can't help it. Everything seems to piss me off so bad!!!!! }( }( }( I hope this rage goes away soon I think I am going to drive everyone away. Actually today my Mom made me so mad! I was talking about when the baby was born she wouldn't be able to be there at the birth because she would be with my ds. She was like whatever he can come to the hospotel. Then she was like you are going to have to stay in the hospital by yourself anyways, your dh will have to go home with ds. I was like sure I'll recover from major sugery (I will probabaly have to have a second c/s) and take care of a newborn by myself. I couldn't even shower by myself last time but sure. Thanks for caring. Anyways it is so far away but that really irked me. I do care about my son but geez I need some help people. Sorry to vent. Got to go.

Congrats, just found out today that I am preggo #3(shocking).I will schedule an appt in a couple of weeks.I usually exercise 4-5 days/week using cathe's rotations.I will continue (with some modifications of course:))until my body tells me to slow down, then I will do prenatal DVDs.I am looking forward to the check in

Okay I guess we are starting one? Maybe a weekly one because it looks like this isn't really that popular? Whatever is fine with me. Congrats on you 3rd!!! Two sounds really huge to me right now so you are braver then me. I was wondering what upper body weights (Cathe) people did. I am really really tired today but I have been baking cupcakes and getting ready for my son's 2nd bday party. Hope it is fun! I might just go to bed at 8 tonight.

I would like to be part of the check-in! I'm 31 weeks, so I'm almost to the end, but I'd still love to check in. This is my first, so I still have lots of questions!!!

You are lucky because you can still workout in your first tri. I also had horrible MS, so I couldn't workout at all. PLUS, I ate so much junk. I am going to have so much weight to work off. I'm thinking I'll have about 50 lbs of preggo weight, PLUS I'd like to work off another 30 that I was trying to work off pre-preggo! Eeek! I'm going to need a lot of support!

>A boy!!!!!! How exciting! Boys are so fun! Did you get any
>good pictures?

yes we got really neat ultrasound pics! one you can really see the profile of his face, it is amazing. my mom said "looks just like me!" hahaha

> We are definatly going to find out the sex, I
>can't imagine waiting 9 months!

I know, me neither. And I was sick of calling our baby "it" all the time!

Although it probably would be
>worth it I can't wait that long!

> How is the running with your belly?

it's getting harder now that i'm at 20 wks. The pressing on my bladder is what makes it hard. I'm not that concerned with the movement of my belly, but lately i have the bladder pressure feeling during runs, like i have to pee constantly. I have strategic locations on my routes if I really have to go :)

> I love to run
>but I am worried about how the impact will be when I get
>bigger. Who am I kidding I am already bigger! I feel like a
>blimp already.

hahaha! I know how you feel. I am starting to show now and it's funny. I have great muscle definition and this round jelly-belly! Hard to get used to! (this is my first)

I have been hitting the buffets!

> Are you doing abs?

Yes, definitely. I use Core Max and then all the ab routines in the various Cathe DVD's. My doc says it's fine to do core work. She says it will help with labor, so I'm all for it :)

> I am working my core right now hoping to build up
>my lower back more.

Definitely! It helps a lot. My lower back is really strong and I plan on keeping it that way for the next 20 wks of my pregnancy.

> What cathe weights are you doing?

I rotate between Gym Styles, Super Sets, Pyramid, MIS, Pure Strength and Muscle Max. Those are my faves. Sometimes I do Butts and Guts for variety.

> I am
>worried about pushing myself with the weights, I know I need
>the energy spent on making a baby not building muscle!

I've lightened up a bit on my weights, but not a lot. I don't push myself like I did pre-preg but I don't take it too easy either. Just want to maintain my muscle strength and fitness so I can resume easier after the baby is born. Plus I keep reading that muscle strength is super important for labor, and that's motivation enough :) My doc says lifting won't hurt the baby.

>Thanks for posting! I didn't realize how much I wanted to chat
>about all of this. :)

Anytime! Fitness is my favorite hobby, and currently fitness during pregnancy is my hobby :) Thanks for starting this thread, and stay in touch. Best of health to you and your baby!

I would like to join this check-in too.

I'm pregnant with my first. I'm supposedly about 10 1/2 weeks and I go see the doctor for the first time tomorrow.

I'm full of questions too. I've already posted a couple of them.

I've been very lucky so far, I don't really have any symptoms. In fact I don't feel pregnant at all, I feel great. That makes it harder to stop doing some of the things that aren't allowed, like horseback riding, because I was doing it the whole time I didn't know I was pregnant and I feel fine and now I suddenly have to stop riding horses and stop doing Cathe's tougher stuff.

I'm really scared about gaining a lot of weight, but so far I've lost 2 lbs. Chrissy, I'm like you I already needed to lose 30 lbs. I wanted to lose more before I got pregnant, but oh well. I thought I would be really hungry and would be struggling, but I'm actually not as hungry, I don't know if that's normal or not.

Well I look forward to chatting with you guys.

LOL I am slack! I forgot to start the check in thread. We can start one tomorrow or just use this one. It seems like there are a lot of us so I guess we can do a daily.

I feel very very lucky to not be sick. With my first I was sick sick sick! I still gained so much weight though because the only thing that helped was eating so I ate constantly. I hope I have a healthier pregnacy this time around! I am really tired though. It didn't really hit me until this week when I was getting ready for my son's birthday party. I am having a lot of problems with motivation. I don't want to workout at all. I don't really want to do anything. I had a crappy workout today, usually if I don't feel like working out I do after I start but i wanted to quit the whole time. I am not sure if I should push through or take it easy. Mostly I am having trouble with my weights. What are you guys doing? I just finished doing p90x so i don't know what i should be doing to maintain. I want to do 4 days of weights but I don't think i am up for that. I don't really want to do any.

Does anyone else look really fat? I feel like i have lost all muscle tone in a matter of 2 weeks!!! My eating hasn't been so great but it seems like all healthy foods taste gross. Anyone else or is that just my lame excuse for eating so bad?

Okay it is way past my bedtime, see ya'll tomorrow?

Marnie I just saw this post! That is so cool about the pictures! I can't wait. You are doing really well with your workouts! I am impressed. I wish I could say the same. Maybe I will find my motivation this week!

I hear you on the peeing thing I am glad I workout in my living room so I can take many breaks!!! Okay way past my bedtime now!

I have definitely lost my muscle tone - and I AM still using weights. I think my body is retaining a bunch of water, and the futher along I get, the more "balloon-y" my body seems to be getting. My first trimester, I wanted to eat all the time to help with my morning sickness, and like you, I couldn't STAND healthy food. Veggies, fruit, whole grains all made me want to barf! I gained a lot of weight my first tri because the only thing I could keep down and that made me feel better was greasy, fast food - ESPECIALLY french fries!

I normally don't like fast food, but for some reason, that's what I wanted.

Hang in there . . .pregnancy makes you do weird things . . .

I would love to be part of a check in. I am almost 18 weeks along. I haven't gotten to work out very regularly up until this point, maybe twice a week. I have a 17 month old and my husband has been gone a lot lately due to some family health issues, so having her alone 90% of the time, while working full-time hasn't been really condusive of working out a ton, but enough excuses. I am getting back to working out regularly and eating clean. I have already gained 7 pounds and I am not quite 1/2 way, so I need to be diligent now! I would love to have a group to keep me motivated!

Hi everyone!! I just found out that I am pregnant, about 7 weeks or so. I was working out nearly everyday with Cathe and felt very strong and lean, though lately I feel bloated and tired. I haven't had any bad ms, so at times I forget that I'm pregnant...though I tend to get out of breath now easier for some reason. It's too early to be bloated and out of breath, right? I would love to be able to keep up my current routine, though I am so afraid of harming the baby as this is my first pregancy and I don't know anything!!

Not not to early to be bloated and out of breath. I broke a sweat running up the stairs today! I was very strong and lean before I got pregnat. I am hoping to keep the strong part but the lean has been gone for a while! We have started a daily check in so come join us~this includes all the new posters! What is your workout schedule now? maybe we can look at it if you want? Try not to worry too much about exercise hurting the baby. I think you just have to find that happy medium where you can keep some of your fitness but not be expending so much energy! We are creating human beings!

BTW Annette 7 lbs and almost halfway through is crazy! I could gain that on a bad weekend!

Congrats to all the new Mamas!~
