Happy MMnday all. Hope you had a nice relaxing, healthy-eating weekend.

Judy, how was the wedding? Did you stay away from high calorie nibbling?

Michele, I'm glad your anniversary was wonderful. Have you made plans for a get away trip? Alas, our trip to the Finger Lakes will have to be put off. No money. :(

tneah, I'll admit, the only way I care for squid is deep fried, so I skipped that particular dish. The broth it was in was tasty though.

Shelley, what did you girls buy? Did Sophie enjoy herself? Have a great day off.

Hi to everyone else! Today will be 4DS HIS chest and back and core max segment 2. DD is taking the baby and herself to the boyfriend's this evening and DH is working, so I'll have a nice quiet my time to workout in.

Hi Robin and all that follow:

What a wonderful weekend! The air was crisp but not too cold, it was sunny and the colors of the leaves were awesome. I get my dog's blood work results today. I am hoping that he is ok and it is not Cushings or Addison's which is what they suspect.;(

Today was cardio , I-Tread 44 minutes, 319 calories. I thought I would post a menu just for the heck of it:

Todays menu:

Post workout: protein shake
B- cherrios w/strawberries, skim milk
s: cottage cheese w/applesauce
L: Ham on WW, grapes, skim milk
S: stringster & apple
D: Leftover Mexican ( from Sat cheat meal)
S: Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich or WW ice cream bar

Have a great day!

Deb ;-)

Another Happy Veterans Day!:D

Hi to Robin and Deb, and all the others this morning.

I was doing so good then all of a sudden just had to have some fat!x( I nibbled on peanuts/those ones that are sweet and salty, so it took care of both cravings I suppose!:7 Oh well. I am only human right? They were so good, tasted like those "PayDay" candy bars.I did walk for an hour last night, maybe that helped offset the high caloric content of my splurge.

Other than that, I did pretty darn good this weekend, stayed the course with my veggies/protein, and even refused the bread basket at brunch yesterday. I just had a large veggie salad with light dressing on the side!:9 And while everyone drank all weekend, I had my herbal tea and sugar free hot chocolate.

I was going to experiment again this week with those workouts I own but never do, Fluidity,Lotte Berk, etc...I'm not sure if mentally I am up to it though, I am just so old school, I like my cardio in the AM and my weights in the PM...Cathe's new workouts are perfect actually! So we will see. My muscles are starting to feel better today.

Okay, everyone who weighs in today, good luck to you:7 I think I will wait until Wednesday or just keep doing the Friday thing. I am starting to get a little obsessed with the scale, and I know better!

*crawls into thread look ashamed*

It was NOT a good weekend for eating, and I didn't work out either day. So I'm back on the wagon yet again. Someone strap me in, please, so I don't fall off again?

I don't have time for personals. Might bbl.

Happy Monday!!

Well, I got on the scale this morning and it did not budge. But no worries, I am not discouraged! I started lifting heavier last week so I was definitely not expecting that the scale would have good news for me. In any case, I feel more focused than ever so I'm looking forward to a great week of exercising and clean eating!

Quick question regarding ITread for Deb or anyone else that might have an answer... I tried my 1st ITread on Saturday (the intervals one, can't remember the #). In the beginning, Grace gives you the numbers, but at what speed do you be warm up?? When I get on the treadmill I usually do a brisk walk (i.e. 4), but she makes it sound like one should be running to warm up... I'm confusesd.

Anyway, hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I'm going to go catch up on the threads now and see what everyone was up to. Have a great day! :)

Hi everyone. I'm a bit late posting this morning because I'm having a sort of lazy day. The kids are out of school for Veteran's Day so we got up a little late (well, the boys don't let us get up very late) and I've been puttering around the house. DH has to leave later for the airport (just going on an overnight trip).
My house is a bit messy, so I need to clean up and clean the bathrooms, but I figured I'd check in first. http://bestsmileys.com/cleaning/6.gif

Yesterday was a nice rest day. I'm still sore from Saturday's run, so I don't know if working out will be painful today. The plan is to do some step aerobics, maybe Rhythmic Step or Amy's ASCII.

Robin, been meaning to ask you, are you a Jimmy Buffett fan? Is that why the buffettgirl name? One of my best friends is a really big Buffett fan.

Deb, good luck waiting for the news on your doggie. Our last dog had a brain tumor and I remember the difficulty of waiting to hear what was going on. So tough.

Tneah, good luck with experimenting with the workouts. I have plenty I own but never do. Also, I saw something you wrote on the OD about you and your DH having different politics--I have the same issue at my house! So funny since we agree on so much else.

Shelley, here's a little kick for you: http://bestsmileys.com/kick/2.gif Sorry if that was rough; have a hug, too: http://bestsmileys.com/hugging/1.gif

OK, I've got to stop surfing the smiley websites.

B, that scale not moving is probably the heavier weights thing. Just keep in mind that you're making your body a more efficient calorie-burner with those weights!

OK, greetings to everyone who checks in later. Gotta go give the hubby a kiss as he's about to head to the airport.

The scale moved........THE RIGHT WAY!!! I am down another 2 pounds. So pleased. I did not WO this weekend, well normal WO, but I got a killer full body WO from four wheeling (partly from hanging on for dear life) so my body is sore. I am exhausted today, so not sure about a WO. Play it by ear.
So good morning to everyone, and keep the chins up and feet on the wagons. BBL

Shelly! I should have written this. Same story here.

Robin I ate. Last night in total exhaustion we ordered pizza and I ate 2 pieces plus some crust, at least I had a salad first. It wouldn't have been such a big deal except I ate 2 pieces of pumpkin chocolate chip cake earlier. And we had a family brunch at a diner. (There were 29 of us and my Dad was so pleased to have us all together!)Today is a new day.

Good for Maeghan!

Lanie my kids are home too, and my Monday routine of cleaning is not going to get completely accomplished!

I did however get in a 6.5 mile run and gym style shoulders.

Hello Melters!!

I'm driving the bandwagon and looking for clean eating stragglers -- LMAO!!!

I indulged my every craving this weekend and I'm ready to walk the straight and narrow. I had good luck last week on my lentil soup and WW- pita-with-roasted-veggie-pizza diet, so I might stick with something similar this week. It was easy, required very little thought, and I only spent one day cooking to feed myself for the entire week. :9

I'm doing the 4DS rotation Cathe posted but subbing the cardio for something I can do :p . The weight work today is chest and back and I love it!! I have a lot of room to grow with this workout as I cannot match Cathe for most of the weight work. The pyramid for biceps had me begging for mercy ;(

Robin - I'm so sorry about your trip to the Finger Lakes. We haven't made any plans for a trip, although we talked about how we desperately need one. I don't know if we'll be able to work one in before the holidays :-( . I'm glad you'll have your workout time to yourself -- you've earned it!

Deb - I have my fingers and toes crossed for your dog. OUr weather is gorgeous, too. I'm about to go outside and soak up some of that sunshine.

tneah - Oh I hear you about answering the call of cravings. Sometimes you just have to do it!! Lets face it, peanuts do at least have some nutritional value :p . ^5's for avoiding the bread basket. That one stumbles me every time ;) . Good luck experimenting with your workouts.

Shelley - I've placed you in heavy duty restraints so falling off of the bandwagon is a virtual impossibility :*

B - I admire your positive outlook and tenacity. There's no use in being a slave to the scale anyway. Slow and steady consistency wins the race!

Lainie - LOL about surfing the smiley websites. I've blown many an hour looking for the perfect smiley. Your day sounds like mine, except that I don't have kids...well...unless you count my DH and my kitty. How's your ankle doing?

Maeghan - ^5's for your weight loss!! *GASP* Be careful on those 4 wheeler thingy's. They scare the crap out of me! Don't even get my DH started ;)

Judy - I've strapped you and Shelley together and have you firmly anchored to the wagon :p . You're the most disciplined person I know so I have complete confidence in your ability to affix your butt to the wagon:7 . ^5's on your run!

Hello to everyone else, and good luck. The only good thing about Monday's is the opportunity for a fresh start ;)

ETA hello TK. Wow, you're more than half way to the 10 # goal!!! Cardio Fusion!? I bow to your cardio greatness :p :7

Morning melters. Today was weigh day. It was a not very impressive .6 (that's point 6) pounds down. I'm a little disappointed because I was ultra good all week, but oh well I guess this wasn't my week. One thing I've learned about my weight loss is that in any 4 weeks I usually only lose weight 2 of those weeks. I'm going to put down this as my non-losing week and hope for a little better next week. I'm down a total of 5.4#, so optimistically I'm more than half the way there.

Robin: Enjoy your quiet time.

Deb: Hope your doggie's test comes back okay. Also I see you like cottage cheese with applesauce! I do all sorts of wacky things to cottage cheese.

Tneah: Peanuts have good fat, though!

Shelley: Shake it off. Today's a new day. I bet you had a good time over the weekend, right?

B: Your post is a good reminder to be less focused on the scale. Thanks for the reminder!

Lainie: LOL on the smilies. I hear ya about owning workouts and not doing them. Over the weekend I pulled out a couple complex step DVDs that I hadn't learned yet (a Seasun Zeiger and a Patrick Goudeau). Actually I had a pretty good time with both of them, but there's still another half dozen DVDs I haven't even looked at yet.

Maeghan: 2 more pounds! WTG!

Judy: Pumpkin chocolate chip cake? That qualifies as my food fantasy for the day! Kudos to you for still fitting in your run and weight workouts despite all the chaos this weekend.

This morning I did Cardio Fusion. IMO that is Cathe's most strenuous cardio, even more so than MIC. I'm just about dead once I finally get to DM drill #6, then she throws in those #$%^*! squat thrusts. OMG.

Dashing in to say, 'Don't give up everyone!":7 :7 I am hating the scale right now, its getting obsessive with me, so am forcing myself to not even think about weight loss this week, just eating clean and exercising-period.

And more thing, Lainie, which web sites did you find your smiley faces? I have a MacBook Pro laptop and cannot seem to download a darn thing-but than again, I am very "computer" challenged!

I only wish I had the time for personals. Whatever Michele said, ditto from me. I'm covering two work stations today, since someone called in sick and am fried. I'm tired and hungry, not a good combination. Good think I have you guys to whine to.

Thanks Lainie, but I think the company I work for doesn't allow downloads or something, because they will not open up darn it!:-(

Well, tired and hungry was NOT a good combination for me. I went home and two weeks of good work imploded. The binge started with a handful of cereal and ended with cake. Lots of cake. Lots and lots of cake. Sigh. At least I got my workout done before the binge. It felt awful too. Double sigh. I think what may have set it off was seeing a little girl in the hospital cafeteria. She was in a wheelchair and was pretty impaired. Her postion and mannerisms were so much like Greyor. She was happy, the woman with her were happy, but it was still a hard glimpse into the very probably future. Sigh, sigh, sigh. I wonder if there is any more cake.

Thanks for listening. I think I'll go soak in a hot tub and hit the hay early.

(((((Hugs))))) to Robin. You are very sensitive, that is a good thing. And your two weeks of good are not wiped out by 2 minutes of "not so good". Get some sleep. Lots of it. Tomorrow is another day, and will be better if you are rested.Enjoy that bath!:)

Hi everyone. Well, my weekend was OK. I got my workouts in and tried real hard with the vegetables. I bought bunches of them at the grocery store today. And I don't think I bought anything too bad.

Tonight I am doing some step cardio. Not sure which one yet.

I am so sorry I just haven't had time to read the threads for personals. I hope everyone is doing great.

Cari

Just running in to send lots and lots of huge squeezy ((((Hugs)))) to Robin.

Michele - can you tie me down tighter, please? I was kind of hanging off the wagon by the ropes today:p
