Very Cool Interval Timer APP!!!

Miss Lee

Cathlete
I found a GREAT interval timer app in the iTunes store for 99 cents!!! It's called Round Timer and it works like a dream!!! I actually like it better than my Gymboss. I love it because I can never hear my Gymboss over my music when I'm doing sprint intervals outside, and IMO the vibrator feature is worthless. If you want to use the round timer while listening to music, all you do is start your playlist first and then set the timer. It will sound the alarm over your music. It's SO COOL and very easy to use, and SO cheap!!

I haven't tried that one. I have workoutmuse for intervals and it works really well. I love that I can do intervals and chose my own music.

Can you use it for other MP3 players, or only iPods?
I just read the description which states that it's for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The app was developed by a company called Plain and Simple Software. You could email them at [email protected] and ask if they have an app for other MP3's.

Buffy, I love that feature, too! It makes the workout more fun, that's for sure!!

iPhones are the coolest! I don't have one but I'm amazed at all they can do. It's like the ultimate toy and tool.

Have you ever played doodle jump Michele? It's addictive!

I am totally addicted to my iPhone! I don't know how I managed before I got it. It's the most amazing device! Frankly, I hardly ever make calls with it -- I mostly use it for the computer. I love that I can be out and about and check my email. I LOVE that I was able to sync my address book and calendar with my computer, and if I use the phone to schedule an appointment it miraculously appears in the calendar on my iMac and Macbook, too. I had to mail a package yesterday and it was so handy to pull out my iPhone to look up the address. And there are SO many cool apps!!!

So Amy, I just downloaded doodle jump. Damn you! :p :p :D

P.S. I tried to use my iPhone to lock my car yesterday. I didn't work, but I bet it won't be long before they have an app for that, too. :D

LOL Michele!!

I just got an iPod Touch and was searching apps when I came across this one. Is it difficult to program? I just told someone to get me the Gymboss timer for Xmas but maybe I don't need it?! Oh, what the heck....it is only 99 cents! Off to iTunes app store.........................

BTW, I have downloaded solitaire, sudoku, word search, nubrix, the moron test, dictionary.com, bartender mixology, ibeer, and sparkpeople. I "heart" my iPod Touch!:D

Judi, the round timer is incredibly easy to use!! I am not the least bit tech savvy and I figured it out all by myself. :D

I have quite a collection of apps, too. I LOVE dictionary.com, the Bible, iTranslate so I can look up words in Italian and German, Facebook, Google earth, iWiki, Map it Area Code, Zip Codes, Flixster (VERY cool), an Italan language app, Nike + iPod, hundred pushups (really awesome app), a remote for my Apple TV, a flashlight, and a several more. I'm amazed by what you can put on your phone these days! :D

I would have loved to get the iPhone but I'm with Sprint and have 1 1/2 years left on my contract. Plus, DS works at Best Buy and we get a huge employee discount on our sprint bill. I'm holding out hope that AT&T loses their exclusive rights in the next year or so then I would buy one!

My nephew told me I could download Skype and get a microphone for my iPod which would enable me to able to "call" other people who have skype on their phone. Pretty cool if it actually works!

LOL! Let me know what you think of doodle jump! I love that little dude!

When I visited my sister in TX this summer we were constantly playing with their iphones. A few times we were at a restaurant and we couldn't put the darn things away. The waitress probably thought we were nuts!

I love the Art Camera app. You can do some amazing things with it. We took some pretty flower pics and then played with the app until it looked like something you could have printed and blown up and framed to hang on your wall! I still think we may try that.

Here's an example:

Sorry to hijack Michele! The app you mentioned sounds awesome. And I've been curious about your 100 push up app. I found this site which works for those of us who don't have an iPhone or an iPod touch:

http://hundredpushups.com/index.html

Think I need to start on this asap. How many pushups are you up to now?

I love my IPhone so much that I joke that I would marry it if I could (DH doesn't like the joke). I haven't even scratched the surface of all the cool apps I could download but I love the ones I have.

Oh no! I'm enabled! At least it is only for $.99 though. I so want the iphone but I'm stuck with my verizon contract so I'll have to stick with my ipod nano for now at least till Feb 2010. That interval thing sounds perfect esp. for running or cross fit workouts. Sounds easy to use too. Thanks so much!!

Judi, I still have my Verizon phone. I decided to keep it because AT&T's service is lacking in many regards. They don't offer service in large areas of the country and I can't be without a phone so I have both. I just have the bare minimum plan with Verizon and I'm hoping that one day they will offer the iPhone. Verizon's service is MUCH better than AT&T's. My DH and I downloaded Skype but we haven't actually used it yet.

Wow!! That art camera looks really neat!! I might have to download it :D. My DH and I have sent text messages to each other while sitting across from each other in a restaurant -- LOL!!!

Amy, your link is the same exact program as the iPhone app. It's a great program! The app is nice because it keeps a log of your push-ups and it times your rest breaks between sets, and you can set it up so it will post your workout on your FB and/or Twitter page. I'm actually not doing the program right now. I was having some pain in my shoulder and the push-ups seemed to aggravate it. I stuck with it for 6 weeks though, and was able to do about 75 push-ups in 5 sets -- a long way from 100 consecutive but I was thrilled with my progress! I could only do 5 on my toes when I first started the program.

Isn't that the truth!? It's a great toy and I really don't know how I'd manage without it!

Janie, I hope the year passes quickly for you -- LOL!!! As I stated previously, I kept my Verizon phone due to the poor coverage offered by AT&T. Maybe by the time your contract is up Verizon will be offering the iPhone. I've got my fingers crossed!!

That's awesome Michele! Thanks for posting this! I'm definitely getting it! I don't have a good timer for HIIT or tabata style w/os and this will be perfect!

I'm hooked on my iPhone, too!! Of course I recently switched from a 7 year old cell phone that was just a phone - I never even had my voice mail set up and never texted. Now I'm just in awe over the ease of communicating and all the fun stuff included in this phone - LOVE IT
