V-TAPER and More Developed Outer Quads

Hi Cathe,

I would like to develop a V-Taper like you have. I have more of a straight shape and want to create an illusion of an hour glass. Which of your work-outs do you suggest for that. Currently, I am doing S&H twice for legs and once for the other body parts and an additional workout for shoulders and back from the CTX series (per week). On the squats I am up to 85lbs. (I used my weight bench to get it on my back). Should I continue going heavier?? I figured if I build up my shoulders, back, and legs I would achieve the look I want. I love working out with your tapes. I also have MIS which I just finished a 4 week rotation. Any suggestions?? Also. I don't know if you need to know this, but I am 5 5", 35 yrs, and approx. 124lbs. My measurements are 35,29,34.

Also can you recommend any of your strength tapes for on older (69 yrs) beginner (my mom). She did a little of S&H with me and she enjoyed it. Of course she only used 2lb weights.

Thank You,
Dina

Hi Dee

I remember reading a post where Cathe said (not a direct quote) that to develop that coveted 'v' you need to do more shoulder work. I am trying to do the same thing :)

Hi Dee C.,

Can I ask what you are doing to accomplish this??

Any advice would be great.

Thanks,

Hi Dina

I was doing a rotation where I worked my shoulders 3x / wk but am not sure how great it was. I am not an expert at it.

After getting the new series of DVDs Friday, I am just working through each one of them to see what they are like.

My shoulders are my weakest area, not just in looks but in strength so plan to do some form of the Tank Top Arms Rotation once I've tried all of the new DVDs.

Marlene123 created the TankTop rotation and mentioned that she worked Shoulders, Chest, Tris and Bis 3x / wk if I remember correctly. Please jump in anyone!

Yes the tank top rotation has you doing PS BBA and CST 1x per week, the S,T,Bi of CTX 1x and then MIS 1x in addition to doing cardio 3x's and LL 1x. I haven't done this rotation, but I've heard fabulous things about the results it gives. Do you mean the 'v' in your upper arms, or a v-shaped body?

I'm not sure if it is the same "Tank Top Rotation" that you guys are talking about - but in the rotations forum there is one listed as the TTR. It sounds like what jillybean mentioned! Just FYI!

Oh, I think you are right, Jillybean. Dee seems to be referring to her bodyshape. Sorry for going in the wrong direction. I am SO obsessed with wanting cut and defined arms myself  that I can't even see straight!

I was thinking of doing this type of rotation, only with the new vids??? We have the Pyramids, ME, many new ones to use and you can still hit the right body parts in the same way Marlene had it worked out, only with different vids.

I am sorry, but I am new to this. Where are the rotation forums??
Also, what is PS BBA (Is it Pure Strength Biceps, Back???), and what is CST ??? I am not familiar with all the abbreviations, but I would love to learn them all.

Thanks Everybody,
Dina
:D

Hi Dina! The rotation forum is at the bottom of the Cathe forum page. Just scroll down to the bottom and you will find it. Yes, PS BBA is Pure Strength Back, Bi's and Abs. CTX is the Cross Train Express series. There are six videos in that particular series. Once you find the forum at the bottom of the page, there are also links to a couple of other websites to find even more rotations.
Good luck!!
SAra :)
