UPDATE

Hi Cathe and everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that my MIL came through her heart cath this morning with flying colors. The doctor was quite pleased with the condition of her coronary arteries and has determined that she did not have a heart attack after all, but instead has a cardiomyopathy of unknown origin. Basically what this means is her heart is not pumping adequately which caused her to go into failure. She's doing much better now and will probably go home Wednesday. She'll need to take it easy for several weeks at least. The doctor has not yet told her what, if any, limitations she will have after that. She is doing so well and we're very thankful for that. They started her on a new medication today that should improve the pumping action of her heart and we are hopeful that she will respond well.

Please let me thank you all once again for the prayers and well wishes you have given my family. We really appreciate it and my hubby was blown away by your care and concern. You guys are the BEST!!!:+

Hey Michele -
I'm so glad to hear the great news! Take care of your MIL and let her know we're all out here cheering her on!

Thanks for the great update, Michele!!!! I'm thrilled it was overall, good news for your MIL.

I would think the "recovery" time would be the worst for such an active woman!!! I'll keep her in my thoughts and am wishing her the best!!!

So glad to hear all is well. Now you and DH can rest easier. It is so hard being a medical professional and being on the other side isn't it?

I managed to miss your update before posting *positive vibes* on the previous thread -- but I'm SO glad to hear things are going well! I know it had to be a hard weekend for your whole family. You've been in my thoughts!

Good wishes,
Allison

Thanks for taking the time to update with your hectic schedule the last few days. So happy to hear the good news.:)

Michele,

That's great news about your MIL! Hopefully, she won't be limited too much. Sounds like she has a lot of spunk!:) I hope that's how I'll be at her age.

Dallas

That's wonderful! I didn't post on the earlier thread because it was so late by the time I saw it, but I did want you to know you all were in my thoughts and prayers.
