Hi Everyone,
I forgot to post yesturday but I did the Plyo Circuit from Month one. Today is Pure Cardio I think and so I'm off to the basement to sweat like mad!
Quick question, for those of you that recommened the Aerobics floor mats....they don't seem very big.....are they ok to use for Insanity? I think I may be looking for more of a floor rather than a mat?? Any thoughts?
Have a great day
Elena

Good Morning Y’All!!

MIC is done and I can already see improvement - yeah!!! I’m starting to get the rhythm of those floor switch kicks :)

Elena - I use that 3x6'6" floor mat over a tile floor for Insanity and it is perfect. I’m 5'4", but my legs are long and it works for me. I put a yoga mat underneath to keep it from sliding, which it will do especially during lateral moves (heismans, 123s, etc.) :)

Dawn - yes, I mean Dawn ;) I though of you during MIC today. Yes, it will get better. That’s what I love about this program what I thought I could not accomplish on Day 1, I’m doing now - constant improvement :D

Marianimal - I agree with Dawn that you can work at your own pace with this program and postpone M2. I just didn’t want you to be discouraged about M2 since I still think you will be ready for these workouts. That’s the beauty of dvds, they are always ready for when you need them. :)

Brenda - thanks for the Sports Drill dvd review - can’t wait to try it

Colleen - Happy Anniversary!! :D

Sandra - it is best to listen to your body and take care of that back. You work yourself very hard and even your streamlined workout schedule is tough, tough, tough!! :D

Happy day everyone

Hi Everyone!

Still recovery week for me and I did ASC 3 (Amy Bento's Advanced Step Challenge) and GS Back. I miss my step workouts so I decided this was a good opportunity to sneak one in.

Sandra, CCB is a light version of Month 1 workouts with some hip flexor and shoulder work in there. I think you should stick with yoga because of your back.
Brenda, thanks for the sports drill review. I am going to preview Month 2 discs this week.
Jennifer, ^5 on the improvement. I love seeing results.
Elena, enjoy your sweatfest with PC.

I forget who asked but I have been married to my wonderful husband for 7 years. We are going out to dinner this Saturday to celebrate.

Good Morning!!!

Today was MIP. I felt pretty good doing this one, but I did struggle with a few of the advanced moves: Power push-ups, and the balance push-ups were pretty sad for me. I modified the balance push-ups to alternate the arms and legs (right arm, left leg) instead of lifting the same side. This series has strengthened my core so far, but I still have a long, long, long, long ... way to go :D The kick stand thingies at the end are deceptive. They are much tougher then they look. They are doable, but I expected them to be a breeze. Nope!

Despite struggling with some of the moves, I really do like the M2 workouts so far. :) They are no doubt a challenge.

Because of Labor Day I will only be doing the first 3 days of workouts for M2W1 this week. I'll be out of town and will be going for walks, biking, and probably practicing my form of some the the tougher moves while I'm camping. Next Tuesday I will start up again and do the last five days of the M2W1 and then move on to week2. So some of you will be catching up to me in the program.

Brenda, WTG on pushing through after a tough day. I'm not good at that (which is why I workout in the morning).

marianimal, Yep I always feel better when others stop and I don't. Yes, I also ignore the fact that they probably shot the whole series in a matter of a few days (or less). :p

Sandra, Take care of your back. CCB is pretty tame (compared to the rest of the series). If you're looking at intense Yoga, then you may be fine with CCB, but if you're looking at a more moderate Yoga, you may want to stick with that. Also, let me know what you think of the book you posted about in the OF after you've read a bit more of it.

Jennifer, WTG on the floor switch kicks. Those were killer for me yesterday.

Colleen, Did your step workout seem easier for you after M1 of Insanity? I saw improvement when I did IMAX2 during my RW.

haahaaahaaahhaaaa! that INSANE laughter is coming from me for thinking I could do Plyo Circuit after a 10 mile run!!!!!! :p:p:p:p:p Who do I think I am?!?!?
But, I DID push play and did my best. I confess there was VERY little *plyo* in the workout. I listened to Shawn repeatedly say focus on form, never sacrifice form for speed. I'm pretty sure he didn't mean for me to dog it quite as much I was though!

Even though it was the hardest thing I've ever attempted, I was reminded (after my 3 week break) of how much I love this workout series! It is so challenging and exactly what I need! I am really motivated to continue attempting the workouts and see what kind of changes occur in my body.

You ladies had awesome workouts! I am so amazed by each of you and you definitely make me want to challenge myself! Y'all rock! :D

I am going to crawl off to the shower now. I can't stand my own stink any longer!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Becky

Hello All,

I am doing Insanity and wondering if it is oK to join your check in group?

Regina

From all of us, I say *WELCOME*! :D
The ladies on this check in are awesome and amazing!
What day/week are you on?
I am just starting after a couple weeks of physical therapy.
The name really does fit, doesn't it?!?!

Hi everyone
What a relief for me! I thought I was supposed to do Pylo (my nemesis) today but it was actually Cardio Power & Resistance instead.

You know Jennifer I think you were right. After having a day off yesterday CPR (ironic name isn't it) seemed not as hard today.

HAH Becky- I have the same thought sometimes when Shaun keeps talking about form. Sometimes I think- gee maybe I should lie on the couch until my form is absolutely perfect! I can't imagine running 10 miles and then trying to do an insanity w/o.

Good evening everyone,

Thanks for the comments about CCB. I didn't get them read in time, however. I did the workout . It was more cardio-intense and less "recovery" than I was expecting, although compared to the "real" workouts, it was much easier. All those long breaks between each exercise really makes it manageable, doesn't it? I see now what everyone's talking about when they mention the hip flexor burners. My, that was nasty wasn't it? I WILL be feeling that tomorrow! I'm actually surprised that they recommend this workout daily for an entire week. When do the hips and hip flexors get a chance to recover?

My back has improved a lot, but there's still some aching and stiffness in the tailbone and hip areas. Of course, I always have a bit of that; that's the arthritis. But I'm still going to lay low for a bit longer. I'm going to do yoga tomorrow, then possibly CCB on Thursday. Or go for a swim. Or do a low impact step routine. I'll decide when I get there.

Welcome to Regina! How far along are you? How are you liking it?

Becky, I posted a lengthy response in the "End to Overeating" thread.

Keep working hard, ladies, and give me something to aim for! I may come to like this low intensity life too much to start Month 2. Make me want to keep going! I ate waaaay too much ice cream for a low-exercise day. If this keeps up, I'll be finding Month 2 too hard to do, because I'll be doing it with an extra 5lbs to throw around!!

Cheers!
Sandra
