Tuck Jumps or Air Jacks!

Amy Steppe

Cathlete
I find tuck jumps to be mega hard and really have to push myself , but I could do air jacks all day long (well, not literally).

I have a huge dread factor with Tuck Jumps!

So which do you think is hardest Tuck Jumps or Air Jacks?

I think Air Jacks are much more difficult. I can't seem to get my legs as high as Cathe can and they hurt my inner thighs. But tuck jumps on the other hand I think are great. Love them!

It must be how our bodies are built.

I have a HUGE dread factor when I do tuck jumps.

Personally, I think it has something to core strenth with tuck jumps.

I love love love air jacks! I look forward to them.

But tuck jumps - I really struggle with form!

Air jacks just kill my groin. I do them, but definitely can't get my legs as far apart as the crew. Tuck jumps are tough, but I like them! They took me a long time to master, I must admit, but now they make me feel so powerful. ;) I have a hard time with plié jacks though. I can get through about 16, and then my legs want to quit!

I refuse to do Tuck Jumps. I just don't like them, and they are too hard on my body. Air jacks are hard, but somehow easier for me to do.

I am short and feel awkward doing either one. Jacks are a little easier. My legs are not springy enough to tuck and untuck fast enough.

Carmen.

Another vote for Air Jacks. I do tuck jumps but hate them, alot of times I bring my legs up to kick my butt sorta a cheat, or easier tuck. I forget which one exactly but Cathe does these in one her dvds, Kickmax maybe.

I like air jacks over tuck jumps. I doubt though that my air jacks are as pretty as Cathe and crew. When I watch Lorraine do them, I always think she must have been a cheerleader in high school to be able to looks so good doing them!

Tuck jumps are way harder for me, especially when you bring your knees up. In one dvd Cathe brings the feet to the butt in a tuck jump (I think its Kick Max) and they are a little easier. So easiest to hardest to me:
1. Air jacks
2. Tuck jumps, feet to butt
3. Tuck jump, knees up
But truthfully, I don't like any of them and usually substitute for the tuck jumps.Often just a straight jump in the air.

I could do the butt kicks on the step (you know where your hands are on the step and you kick your butt as you move your legs back and forth over the step, they are in 4DS bootcamp and Shock Cardio Hiit) all day. Super easy for me, like a little break, and I've heard others say they have trouble with them.

Wow - I think butt kicks are way harder than air jacks or tuck jumps with the knees to the butt.

Butt kicks just take me down every time I do them - I can't keep up with Cathe and the cast.

I can do air jacks and tuck jumps with good form, but I don't think I will ever be able to do butt kicks with good form!

I'm with you on that

Long femurs don't help, either!

I'm finally beginning to master these, but it took time and effort to get my core (and kegels, ) strong enough to get my legs up. Still not my favourite exercise and it scares the dog, too....

Both are really tough. Sometimes my tuck jumps turn into hops after a while. :) However, I'm gonna go with air jacks because there's something about kicking my legs out to the side and pulling them back in really quickly that not only exhausts me but is also really hard for me to do. My form just isn't that great. I don't know why—I'm just not good at it. It's kind of embarassing. :D
