TTC/Preggers Week of May 25

Cathlete
Hi ladies!! Just wanted to start us off. I totally want to get my bathrrom flooring in today, but don't know how DH will feel about tackling the project. We've had the flooring for months, and I'm just tired of waiting around. It's the kids' bathroom actually and I just want to get started on all my projects before the baby comes!

Kate - The hypnobirthing teachers are not near me. In fact, the one that actually does classes is on a whole different island. I'm going to just go to Borders and pick up the book and cd. I hope it works!

We have no real plans for the Memorial Day weekend except maybe take the kids to see the new Narnia movie. Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend!

Lisa

Hello Fit Moms!

Lisa, Hope you get the bathroom project underway today. I'll pass on what I can about the HB as I learn it! Too bad there's no teacher near you.

I did Butts only of B&G and had to skip the laying down stuff (oh shucks!)

Workouts were great last week - hoping for another good week. Big US is Friday - we are all so excited. DH is SURE we're going to see 2 babies in there!

Hello! May I join in here? I have here off and on for 2 years. I am currently preg. w/ #4 and due Oct. 26th w/ a baby girl! My dh is currently away for Army training. He won't be back till Aug. so I have plenty of time to chat and get all my workouts in. LOL I prefer to run and mostly do cathe weight workouts. I do an occasional cardio if it's raining and I don't feel like doing the treadmill.

I look forward to getting to know you all.

Does anyone else here run??

Hello Trish! So glad you've joined us! Some check in here daily, others not so often. I'm 19 weeks as of yesterday, due Oct 18, right around the same time as you. There are actually quite a few of us due around the same time. How do you know what you're having already?! I'm so jealous! We find out on friday - our DDs are coming with us. They are 6 and 4. How old are your pumpkins? Congrats on #4!! How long will DH be home for? A huge thanks to him (and you) for all he does! Morris checks in here (35 weeks pg I think) and runs like a wild woman! I am not a runner - I think the only thing that could make me run is if I was being chased by someone with a knife! My legs just won't do it. However, I can Imax with the best of them! Talk to you later!

LOL I am slowing down w/ the running.. used to be 9 min miles and I am afraid that is more like 11 min miles now. Round ligament pains and the urge to pee every 15 mins is annoying too.

My DH just went back into the Army. He is in Missouri for MP (military police) training till Aug. 19th. We went for a quick peek u/s on Monday before he left so we could find out the gender together. HE left Tuesday. I was 17w1d at that u/s. I will have the full anatomy scan on June 23rd at 22 weeks. I was so grateful that they did the extra u/s so he could be there to find out. The u/s tech also said as far as she could tell things looked great. She did basic measuring and from what she could see our baby girl is healthy. When dh is done with his training we will all move to wheverever they station us. WE won't know that for a few more weeks though. We are hoping to get GA or AL so we can be never my family in FL.

My kiddos are 6 (boy), 3 soon to be 4 in July (girl), and 2 (boy).. so we will have 2 boys and 2 girls. They keep me busy and my mind off dh being away.

I have done Imax once or twice on FitTV... if I recall it was one of the more difficult ones. I have the rythmic step and love it.. also I like bootcamp, but I can't do some of the hardest moves.. I have to stick w/ the less hard versions of a few of those..

trish, I've got some rd. lig. pains right now - a trip to the chiro tomorrow will take care of it for me. I know when I did it too - hammer punch lunges in B&G yesterday. Owch! An 11 min. mile is better than I could do! The peeing thing drives me crazy too.

WOW on DH. I'm sure all those little ones do keep you busy. Hope you get to ens up near your family.

Imax2 is my fave of all the Imaxes. RS is really good too. Haven't done BC since I've been pg....prob. won't til post-partum.

I am wicked sore from B&G y'day so I'm hoping for a walk to ease it up a little. Then I'm going shopping!!!! I have a 20% off for JCrew and they NEVER pass out coupons so I intend on taking full advantage of that!

Baby is moving right now! Or babIES as DH likes to say. He is SURE we are having twins! I think I'd pass out on the table.

DH is taking today off and Gina has no school today - so nice to get an extra day to the weekend.

hi everyone - happy memorial day!

hi trish and welcome!! you are busy i bet! i am sure you miss dh. i too hope you end up near family. how has your pregnancy been so far? lol at the pee every 5 minutes. i have had that intermittantly, once with a uti. it does seem to change weekly.

hi kate. so, do twins run in your family?? so excited for you for friday! great workouts. i need to pull b and g out. love that leg blast premix. i have gym style legs on tap this week, but maybe i will do something from b and g too.

hi lisa. how asre things? how is your weather? hope you are feeling well and energetic.

thank you all for your condolences. i put my cat down on staurday. very diffficult to do, but it was time. we miss him. so far we havea had a fun weekend of gardening, walks, biking, and a picnic. i got in some great workouts the last 2 days but am having an issue with my right hip flexor. i feel it after i run. i did a long run this am and am a bit tneder now, but that is better than the last 2 days. i just want to run a few more weeks....lol! started gym styles again this week for the next 4 hopefully;) i see the doc tomorrow and am not anticipating a problem. baby is very very active. still no more weight gain for me, despite a bad day of eating on staurday. yesterday was squeaky, though. i will be back later!

Morris~sorry to hear about your cat. :-( We lost a kitty unexpected last May and it was so hard. They really are like part of the family. ((hugs))

Lisa~I need to go back and read last weeks thread, but are you wanting to do hypnobirthing? That is so neat! I have had c/s's all 3 times and will this time as well, but it was something I read about with my first one.

Well today I am going to finish mowing (push mowing) and then we have a cookout for a neighbors high school graduation/birthday so I might not get a run in today, but the push mowing should be a good workout. We have a riding mower, but I am crazy and love the workout push mowing gives. Since we have the grass bagger on it that adds some weight when it gets full so it really is a good workout! I just hope I can be good at the cookout and not eat too much junk. :)

Morris, there are twins but genetically I'm not likely to have them. DH just wants them real bad! LOL! (He gets to go to work all day! ha!) Sorry about your kitty - that is so sad. Last year we had to put our cat and one of our great danes down. We all were very sad and I still miss the dog like crazy. Our other dog missed her too. Sorry about the hip flexor too! Hope your appt goes well.

Trish - I'm taking hypnobirthing classes. It is so cool and I can't wait to do it. Good for you on the MowMax! I think I would def. use that as a workout! Have fun at the cookout tonight!

Hi everyone--and welcome, Trish! It's nice to have someone new join us:7

My workouts last week

4DS chest and back (weights only)
Rythmic Step
4DS legs (weights only)
60 min treadmill--waddled a little faster
4DS shoulder, biceps, triceps (weights only)
Imax 3 with leg weight work instead of blasts

Dh has a day off work, so school is shot and it will be shot Wednesday as I am taking Ds 13 in for his big test, so that he can play public school sports. Oh well, it has been an extremely productive year and the girls only have 2 more weeks until they take their tests.

Now what to do with my day? Dh installed a bookshelf for me, so I think I'll start organizing our home school materials on it. Then I'll have a better idea of how much more I'll need to get everything off surfaces and out of boxes.

I'm hot and uncomfortable, even though it's rainy and cool here. I don't know how I'm going to survive the next 12 weeks. I think I get wimpier as I get older.

Lisa--Dh took the oldest 3 to see Prince Caspian on Saturday. He said it was a good movie, but there were changes that he found somewhat disappointing. I'm total a C.S. Lewis fan, so I'm kind of bummed. I'll see it when it comes out on dvd. I hate movie theaters
:p. Have fun, anyway--our kids all enjoyed it.

Trish--welcome again and thank your Dh for his service to our country. I really appreciate it. Our oldest son (almost 14) wants to join the military as soon as he graduates. He wants to be an army ranger or a field surgeon of some sort, but that could change. Congratulations on your new daughter. We are having a daughter also--the tie breaker:p. I'm amazed that you are still running.

Kate--the hypnobirthing sounds cool. I think I'm just going to get another epidural. I did the first 2 naturally and now I'm a total wimp. Keep us posted, because it really does sound interesting. I can't wait to hear the results of your ultrasound. I can't remember--are you going to find out the gender?

Morris--That must have been so hard with your poor kitty, but if it's time, it's time. Sounds like you are going to workout until the very end. I usually stop around 38 1/2-39 weeks (with the last few babies anyway--when I was young and spry I went until the day I delivered).

Hi Jen! Hi Kristan! Hi Anne!

take care all
Maggie:)
28 weeks

Trish - Hello and welcome! I think you, me, and Kate are really close in due dates. I'm 17 weeks today. Another runner, I'm impressed! I run off and on, but nothing like Morris. I haven't done much running since getting pg due to bad knees and I don't want to risk the extra weight being pg.

Kate - I'm excited for you for your u/s! Are you finding out the gender/genders, lol? So funny you don't like BC while pg, but okay with the IMAXes and I'm the exact opposite. Don't like IMAXes while pg, but okay with the BC. I think it's the jumping I can't take.

Maggie - I've accepted that whatever book turns into a movie will never be the same, lol. I know it's a long movie so I hope the kids enjoy it. They liked the first one. Great workouts last week!

Morris - I love leg blast on B&G also. I have yet to figure out a workout for today. I was thinking of trying my GS Legs out, but I have to preview it still.

We bought flooring for our kids' bedroom and the upstairs hallway yesterday. So now we have their bathroom, their bedroom, and the hallway to do. We bought the interlocking laminate floors so hopefully it won't be too bad. Trying to finish up some work and then it's off to the movies. DH will be in Colorado for the rest of the week on a business trip so I'll be flying solo with the kids until Saturday.

Lisa

lisa, good luck with the solo time with the kids. is it very tiring? i find my 2 year old tiring for sure! i hope you do try gym style legs. i think you could do it without previewing even as it moves slower than legs andglutes for example. hope you had fun at the movies.

trish, enjoy the mowing! i think i may be trying that to bring on labor here in another week or so!

maggie, fantastic workouts. out of curiosity, what are your favorite weight workouts? have you ever done p90x?

kate, give boot bamp another try! just kidding. some things work, and some do not fur sure. i love love love the original boot camp cardio only premix. i like 4ds bootcamp too, but not quite as much for some reason.

this last 3 days was awful with my family. dh is now mad at me b/c he thinks i am taking my feelings out on him. i don't think i am, but, perhaps that is the case. i just am not sure how to be around my parents as separates. my mom is so sad and depressed but refuses to see it or get help. so frustrating. i will have a respite for a few days and am hoping dh and i can make up and play nice again. have a good evening everyone!

Hi everyone. I feel so betrayed by our local weatherpeople. They predicted lovely weather this weekend. It's been nothing but rainy and humid. We did get in a trip to Grant's farm (Anheuser Busch 'country' estate- now a petting zoo, beer garden, elephants, etc. with free beer) with my college friends, husbands, and their kids. A little damp, but still a lot of fun.

Trish- welcome. Is your husband at Ft. Leonard Wood? I recall that's the mP training area?

Maggie- your week sounded productive both exercise wise and stuff-around-the-house. My kids aren't out of school until friday. They're playing hooky on Wednesday and going to 6 Flags with my husband. Gus and I are staying home and scrubbing baseboards or something else nesting-instinctive like that.

Kate- love coreblast. It's perfect for me- I can never focus for more than 5minutes or so on core.

My last week was decent. My right ankle has been driving me crazy- no rhyme or reason- just hurts at the most random times.

Monday- alternating walk-run-stair climbing for 4 miles plus DM upper body
Weds- short walk and leaner legs
fri- 4 mile walk
sat- 1 hour gym, standing coreblast

today I did BM2 circuits and upper with GS legs floor work. Should be interesting tomorrow.

Maggie, great WO's last week! Good for you! Yes, we'll find out gender. I can't wait!

Lisa, did you get your bathroom project done? Anything fun planned with the kids for the week?

Morris, Sorry about your mom AND DH! I hate discord in the house. Thankfully, DH is pretty forgiving. I'm usually the hard-headed one.

Kristan, Sounds like a nice day. Glad you like CoreBlast so much! I did it Saturday and I am feeling it for sure!

I am utterly exhausted. Super humid today and I have the swollen feet to prove it. Baby just kicked - yay! First time I felt it/her/him/them :) (whatever it is!) today! I can't wait to he it or she it.

Hope everybody is doing well.

Kristan~yep he's at Ft. Leonard Wood. I think it's the MP training spot for all branches of the service. He said they had some from all of them there. What is standing coreblast? Sounds intresting! That stinks that it rained, but the farm sounds like lots of fun!

Kate~ I can totally relate.. it was hot and humid here today.. I felt a bit swollen after we got home from the picnic.. I laid down for a small nap and felt better after I got up. I am not looking forward to the summer months and the swelling.. LOL at the mowmax. YAY for the kicking. Isn't that the best feeling?? I am finally starting to feel my dd at least 1x per day so that is so reassuring.

Maggie~ that is awesome your son wants to go into the military. I will say the benefits are awesome, it's a job that isn't going to disappear. That was part of my DHs reason for going back in. He was working in sales and he was making less and less, but he had a 1 hour commute so it cost more and more to just get to work to make less money. I hope your son sticks w/ his dream.

Lisa~ I am been fortunate this time to not have any knee or joint pain. I think that is common though in pregnancy for that to happen.

morris~I missed the part about your hip flexor.. that sounds painful. I hope it doesn't persist so you can keep running. How far along are you? I was able to run till 30 weeks w/ my last son. It was so hard to finally give up running and walk. I was able to run right away again at about 5 weeks pp.

I looked on the schedule and tomorrow on FitTV Cardio and weights is on.. anyone done that? Is it good? I really need to do a weight workout of some sort tomorrow. I have the pyramind upper and lower and muscle endurance.

trish - coreBlast is from Tracey Staehle (fitbytracey.com) and it is so good! It's not a pg workout but there is so much you can do in it while pg and you get a GREAT core workout! I highly recommend it! Glad you're gettin' kicked too! My little one seems to be most active 8PM and later. LOL - hope that doesn't continue after birth! Cardio & Weights is tons of fun. I love the whole thing. The cardio is lots of fun. Pyramids and ME are both great too. Ooh, you're makin' me want to workout!:7

I might give that a try tomorrow then. It's on at 7am and 11am here on FitTV.. IT is supposed to rain so an outdoor run might be out of the question anyway. :) Yes evenings are when I feel her most often. I think it's when I sit down and rest so she gets going more.

Let me know how you like it! That DVD also has Imax 2 on it - a total favorite of mine. It always reminds me how much I love cardio!

hey everyone!

kristan, sorry for the ankle pain! looks like you worked right thru it though. i still have not ordered coreblast but really guess i need to. i have not done any core work in 2 weeks! i am trying to decide if i will order strikezone too. decisions decisions....

kate, i love imax 2 tooo. what a great workout. imax 3 is a little more fun though, i think. might need to pull it out this week.... funny how you said you are the hard headed one. both dh and i are hard headed, but he is "always " right. very precise. comes with the military i think.

lisa, how are you feeling?

maggie, hope you are still feeling good.

trish, i echo what kate said. cardio and weights is great fun. hope you get in a run this week. do you take kids with you? how do you go outside when dh is gone? i am just using the treadmill now at 36 weeks. i find it has way less impact, plus, the bathroom is near by. again, not sure how much more i will be doing, but we will see, day by day. i started running again 5 days after ds was born. not sure if i was supposed to, but i did, and it felt great.

well, i could not run this am but i did step blast and did the blast section twice. i love that workout. funny, though, my hip feels fine with step, and better overall after working out. it hurts the most when i get up from sittting or sleeping. hope tomorrow will be a run. i see the dr this afternoon. fingers crossed for a good, normal visit.

I will let you know if I do it. I didn't make it for the 7am one.. lol It is on again at 11am.

Morris~We actually have 3/4 an acre and we are in the country so when the kids are napping or when my older one is home and they are outside playing I run laps around our property. 7 laps is about 1 mile. I have a garmin forerunner so that helps me to know how far I have gone. I acutally have a path worn in the grass, but hey it's my sanity or the grass. LOL That is also helpful for the peeing problem. We have a treadmill and i broke it about a year ago running on it. The platform that the tread goes on broke free from the side of the treadmill. Now my dh got someone to weld it back together, but I am afraid to run on it now. I do walk on it, but I def. don't want to be running on it while pregnant and have it break again. Maybe once we move in Auguest I can convience DH that I need a new treadmill. :)
