TTC/Preggers Week of June 1st

Thank-you everybody for the warm welcome!

Kate my sister is due 5 wks ahead of me! It is so fun to have someone to share the pregnancy with.

Melanie this baby was planned and it still took me awhile to adjust to the idea of having another. I think it is totally normal to have those feelings. I had to convince dh to try for this one now he is really excited even though he wanted a girl.

I went to my doctor everyday from my 6th till my 8th week to get the vitamin b6 shot. Unfortunately it did nothing for me so I quit getting them. Other women swear by them. I used the sea bands which did help a little. I am so glad to be done with the first trimester.

candra:)

Candra, Sorry the shot didn't help. Doesn't it feel sooooo good to be past all that?

Water aerobics was nice. Not Cathe, but what else is?!:) My 18-yo. sis was there sportin' her bikini. Am I jealous? A little, but I'll get back there. Right now I am fighting a major craving for a roast beef sandwich from Arby's. I passed our local ice cream place on the way home and wanted to stop soooo bad. Resisted though!

Tuesday afternoon I have an appt w/ my midwife. I have so many Q's about the dumb diastasis. Like, why does it hurt??? No one else seems to have reported any pain with theirs. Makes me worried I have something else really wierd going on.

Sleep tight!

Hi Maggie! Nice to see your drive-by post!

Welcome Candra and Mikkia!

Candra - If the morning sickness gets really bad they prescribe meds thats safe for the baby. I had some on hand, but only took it couple times when I really couldn't handle. Disneyworld - how fun!

Mikkia - I'm right behind you, Kate, and Trish. I'm 18 weeks today. We're all going to be giving birth around the same time!

Morris - I'm totally getting into weights right now. I don't know why the change since I'm normally a cardio junkie, but right before I got pg, I was really taking to my weight workouts and now that I have ME and MM, I am just loving it! I think it does something different to my body than just straight cardio. I'm kind of bored of step right now and I've been walking a lot. The weight has been hard on my knees to jog since I live in a really hilly area. We really want to get an elliptical, but haven't convinced ourselves it's worth the money esp. since we have gym membership. I am also loving BC and it's a nice change since I was overdoing Drill Max and starting to get bored of that. Maybe in a couple weeks I'll start missing step. I keep thinking of going back to the gym, but then I get there and I hate it. And I hate it even more pg because the smells are just intensified, kwim? You'll be running in no time. You're going to be having that baby real soon! Sorry for the emotions. I'm sure you and DH will be on the same page before baby is born.

Melanie - I'm so excited for you still!

Kate - I hope everything is okay and the pain goes away. KUP on your appt.

Hi Jen! Hi Kristan! Hi Anne!

Hope I didn't miss anyone. Pg brain has been kicking in. I feel so huge with this pg that I am uncomfortable already. I think I'm as big now as I was at my 3rd trimester with my other two. I remember doing kb classes with my other pgs and not feeling like my belly was in the way until the very end, but now I feel like my belly is everywhere while working out! I can't go very low with push-ups or my belly hits the ground and the barbell is scraping my belly already! Stretched out uterus I guess.

Lisa

I missed the pictures last week. What happened? Please re-post,....inspire me!!!!!!! I"m hoping I can make it to 20 week mark before I need maternity clothes. What do you gals think? Is this impossible with a 4th pg?

Oh! I made a pap appt with my dr for mid July. I've only met me dr once (since we just moved here). The irritating receptionist kept on telling me my primary wasn't there this day or that day but their new PA was there. I kept on telling here that I wanted to develop a relationship with my primary dr, and noone else would do. Anyway, when I told her I was trying to schedule sometime prior to my 2nd trimeseter, she kept telling me that I needed to come in for a pg test!! Too funny. I told her I was NOT going to take a day off of work & drive all the way there (90 minutes) for a pg test, she'll have to do it when I'm already there. You could tell she was irritated with me.

It's almost 5am here, waiting for sun to come up. Looking outside telling myself, "You WILL run today". The whole day I was kinda bummed with myself that I didn't go yesterday. I'm so goal focused.

We dropped the price of our house another 10K yesterday. I really cannot see this situation lasting much longer. The house is at a rock bottom price. Someone had inquired about our housing situation so here's a little recap: we moved July of last year and our house has been on the market since June of last year. We've been making 2 mortgages for a year now. We had savings that carried us until October or so. I used vacation time & worked at a different store to "double dip" my way through most of winter. In March I began to work about 60 hours/week. Urgh! To make things a bit more challenging, I live about 70 miles from my job. So basically, I'm gone all the time. Prior to our move I worked 30hrs/week. This should be prime real estate time, but everyone knows the economy right now!

I"m gonna go get my contacts on and prepare for my run. Chat later!

Hi,
This is short because I have to get ready for work...
Melanie-I am sending house selling vibes your way...
I really popped around my 17th week with my 2nd, so maybe you'll make it to week 20 without wearing mat clothes, but maybe you won't.My belly popped out so much in the past few weeks that it seems like I am further along then I am. I will have to post picks later today. I second you on the dr situation. There are so many large practices today that it is impossible to develop any kind of relationship with primary doctor. My DH and I are in the middle of switching dr's right now because with our primary doctor, he would have had to wait 3months for a physical, and whenever we are sick, we can only see the PA!!!!!!!!! It's frustrating.

Welcome Candra. Did you say you are having another boy? I am (my 2nd).

You ladies are really motivating me to exercise. I did GS Legs on Sunday, and I did (o.k. it's not much, but I did it...) the upper body portion of BM 2 lastnight. At least it was something instead of nothing.

Speaking of bellies getting in the way, you know what has been irritating my belly? That darn id badge I have to wear around my neck. It keeps bouncing and hitting my belly everytime I walk. Time to clip it to my shirt:) .

Kate-I am sure it's nothing else, just pain. You do work your abs/core a lot, so maybe you pulled a muscle on top of it.

Hi Kristan, Hi Trish, Hi Lisa, Hi Maggie, Hi Anne. My pregnancy brain is kicking in as well, so I am sorry if I missed anyone.
-Jen

Jen- your workouts look great to me. I have really enjoyed cutting back to 4 or 5 times a week. It frees up a lot of time and I've been trying to spend more time with my kids. Here's what I cannot do: shave my legs/bikini line. I cannot be at the pool this summer unless such challenges are addressed.

Kate- I always get the most awful scary ab pain right at about 20 weeks. I remember on two occasions almost being stranded out walking with my stroller. Mine turned out to be a combination of round lig pain and the shifting weight of a growing uterus.

Maggie- Rush ROCKS! Hope your family had fun. Rush comes through here on every tour. I am ordinarily a "new wave" girl from the 80's (new ORder, Smiths, Pixies, etc) but I have a huge soft spot for Rush.

Last week I did:

BM2 circuits/arms; standing legs from GS leg
Athletic Step Jam (I believe- I was neither feeling athletic nor jamming)
4 mile run on treadmill
LIC (the green one) cardio/leg circuit/ab

I also did about 20 minutes of Wii Fit yoga, strength, balance

I need to get back in the pool. I'd like the get a few 1 mile swims in before the baby arrives. My ankles are a mess and I have to get off them.

I am a bit nervous. My ob is running 100 miles in California the weekend before my due date. THis will probably the ONE time I am early.

My due date is July 4; about 5 weeks to go.

Rush was my first concert. :) I didn't know they were still around. :)

Hey Ladies,
I really appreciate all your support the past few days. Here is where I am now. After VBS Sunday night I never spotted again. I just too a another preg test and its still very positive. I don't really know what is going on. I am out of town, back in my hometown(we moved last summer) for the week so I'll have to wait til I get home to get my levels checked again. I called my Dr from here and the same lab that tested before must re-test, so I will have to wait.
Here is my only worry ( I am a big time worrier). My OB where I live now gave me some progesterone gel suppositories last week to use as a preventative measure before she got my test results back. I used only 1, then stopped after I got the test results. She assured me this would not hurt either way. Anyway, in my mind I keeping thinking, what if this pregagany was not meant to be and somehow that progesteron was enough to keep it going and that is why I am having so many problems. Am I being totally irrational?
Sorry for the blabbering!
Susan

Melanie~This is my 4th and I didn't need maternity till last week really. I can still wear some of my regular clothing too, but the maternity is just more comfy. I def. think you can do it! That totally stinnks about your house.. wow a year?? I am worried about ours. It's only been on the market for a month, but we will be moving in Aug. and there is no way around that since DH is in the Army.. I pray it sells before then. Really though we can drop the price 45,000 more and still break even so we have room to go down. I really hope you get an offer on your home soon.

Kristan~July 4th!! How fun! Wow your Ob is running 100 miles?? Is this a race or just for fun?

Susan~from my understanding progesterone won't keep you pregnant if something is wrong w/ the baby. Usually low progesterone is a hormone problem and if the levels are low it can cause spotting or a m/c.. so using the progesterone will keep your levels high, but it won't keep the baby alive if something were wrong.. I hope that comes out right.. from your post it seems as if you re worried about that.. I would keep taking the progesterone till you get your levels checked again. I have heard that spotting can be very normal in early pregnancy though. I am sure it's scary and now you don't know what to think.. ((hugs))

Well I got a good 5 miles in today. I was going to come in and do some upper body weights, but decided to just get a shower instead. It is supposed to be hot/humid here through the weekend.. even 90s by Sat.. yikes!

Thanks for the encouragement Trish! We've dropped our house a total of $85K already. ;) We can go a max of $10k more, but this is pretty much it. If I had to do it again, I would have started at this price.

Susan, I've spotted with 2 of my 3 pgs. It's always been brown...

Melanie I had the same problem with my doctor. I had to go in and take a pg test and then I could make an appointment to go in for a consult about being pg after that I could go see the nurse practioner and then finally I could actually make an appt with my doctor. It's crazy. I am 20 weeks and I don't wear any maternity shirts. They are way too huge but with today styles I can get away with regular shirts but with pants maternity is just so much more comfortable. I am sorry about your house situation:-(

Susan I will be praying for you and your little baby I know how scary this time is. I hope everything turns out well for you and the positive test is a good sign.

Jen yes this is my 3rd boy and I couldn't be happier. I love my little boys.

Kate good luck at the doctor today I am sure everything is fine but it's normal to worry.

I stepped on a nail last night. It hurt so bad it actually still hurts. I had a tetna shot about 9 or 10 yrs ago. So I don't know if I need another one or if you can even get one while pg. I have a call in to my doctor. I was going to do Step Blast today but I don't think I can maybe I can do the elliptical.

I hope I didn't miss anybody. We have a busy day of running errands and my little one has gymnastics so I better go take a shower

hi everyone - what a busy board!

welcome candra, susan! susan, i spotted so much in early pregnancy - it was terrifying. everything turned out fine - i am now 37 weeks.

mel, i think you can get away without maternity clothes, depending on how forgiving your pants are:) i still wear regular clothes to work b/c scrubs don't matter. hope you got in a run this am. hope the house sells soon.

trish, great run! enjoy the rest of your day. when does dh get his orders?

lisa, i know what you mean about an elliptical. i want one but i don't want to spend the money. i used to go to the gym but not now. i'd hate it at this stage, though i wish i could elliptical. glad you are enjoying the weights. i am off to do gym style c and t in a few.

kate, good luck at the appointment. let me know what you hear.

jen, hope all is going well.

hey amggie!

kristan, sorry about the ankles. the pool sounds heavenly. who is the backup for your doc when he is out running??

i had a normal checkup today, sort of. i am measuring 4.5 weeks behind but have an us tomorrow. look forward to seeing my little guy. still no running today. i did step blast and repeated the blast section. gotta go do my weights, then nap max!

Wowza! Do we need to start a daily check-in instead of weekly? It's taking longer and longer for this to load!

Lisa, I'm sure you're not as big as you think you are, but I know the feeling! Yesterday someone told me I look awesome for 20 weeks - that made me feel great! I don't hear that too often!

Melanie, Sorry about the ob drama! Yuck! I couldn't WAIT to get into my maternity clothes - a whole new wardrobe! I hope some action happens on your house. It sounds very stressful.

Jen, You've got dr. drama too! Glad you're getting some good WO's in! ^5! LOL on the id badge!

Kristan - Great WO's! When is closetmax happening?! Hope baby stays tucked in til your doc is around.

Susan, I am sure you are fine to have the progesterone. I would worry too though. Hang tight! You'll be checking in here as a preggo in no time! I had spotting witht he first 2 pgs. "Irritable cervix" they called it. We had to stop having sex and the spotting stopped. It was a loooooong few months!;-)

Trish - Great run! Hope you don't get too hot and incomfortable this week!

Candra - OUCH *(^&*^%% on the nail!!!

Morris, I've never had an us that close to my due date. That must be amazing! I hope it goes well.

I'll be at my midwife's in a couple hours - bb after that.

Thanks to all of you for the encouragement. Here is the latest. I ended up calling my Dr from home. He sent me to my Dr here for bloodwork today and Thursday and to put me on progesterone gel. So I have had the bloodwork done and will know some numbers in the morning.
Since it has not yet been a year since we moved I am still technically a patient here, so that made it much easier.
Melanie, I feel your pain about selling your house. Our house has been on the market a year as well. I just don't get it!
Susan

Hi ladies,
I've been lurking around the preggers board for several weeks, but I never joined in. So I decided I should. You guys are such good inspiration with all of your will power and great exercise schedules! (Kate, I totally would have given into the Arby's craving -- in fact, I've given in to too many cravings this time around -- including the King-sized 3 Muskateers craving last night. Ugh!)

I'm 34 years old and turned 22 weeks today and am due Oct. 9, but will probably be scheduled for my c-section the first of October. My dad is hoping the baby comes on his birthday -- Oct. 3. This is my third boy and I'm really excited! (Other two are Oliver, 6, and Henry, 3)

The only bump in the road so far has been that at our 19-week ultrasound, the doc found a choroid plexus cyst on the baby's brain. It apparently sounds worse than it is. It can be a soft marker for down syndrome or Trisomy 18. I had the quad-four test done and it came out negative -- thank goodness. We were not as concerned with downs as we were with Trisomy 18, as it is really tragic. I go back to the doc in two weeks for my glucose screen and I requested another ultrasound to see if the cyst is still there (apparently most disappear by 28-30 weeks). So, that's enough about me.

I wanted to chime in to tell Susan that I spotted with my first pregnancy until about 11 weeks or so. I believe it was the same problem Kate had. I was scared to death because people just don't prepare you for that. I had never heard of anyone spotting before until after I had experienced it, and several others that I knew spoke up. I wish I had had a board like this back then to calm my fears a bit.

I'd do more personals, but I fear my post would become a novel. Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. :)

Welcome Stephanie!

Good idea Kate, daily check-ins. Of course it doesn't help that some people DOUBLE post. ha ha :D :D

Wow, I can't keep up!!

Susan - Sorry you're going through so much worry right now. It is a wait and see game. The good thing is that they are taking your hormones levels so at least you'll know more after that.

Stephanie - Welcome! I hope everything resolves itself with the cyst.

Kate - Just checking in to see an update from you re: your appt.

Melanie - Hope your house sells soon!

Morris - I'd love to have an u/s later in pg. Did they say anything about measuring behind? What does that usually mean?

Hi everyone else!

I'm at work so can't post much. Good to hear everyone's updates. Nothing new here. I'm starting to feel the baby move more often now though and I love it. I think I'm going to try tackle Imax2 tonight. We'll see what happens. :7
