Hi everyone--dh and oldest son are gone for the scout camporee, so I'm a single mom until about 10:00 pm tomorrow PST....
I worked in the garden again today--my dear Uncle-in-law made me some raised beds and they look great, but what am I supposed to fill them with? so I dug up some of our yard to put in them. Don't be too horrified, our back yard looks like the 3rd world because I do very little yard work and the kids play really hard. Things are changing, because 13 yo ds is becoming a very useful boy and I am making him do yard stuff to earn boy scout camp and other stuff we pay for...
Then we ate a junky dinner (because when dad is gone, they get to pick WHATEVER they want to eat), cleaned up to a compilation CD 13 yo ds made for younger sisters (Rush, Queensryche, and Wierd Al....don't ask), ate junky snacks and watched Nancy Drew, because when the guys are gone, we always get pre teen girl movies to watch...
Kate--I love the name Julia. We have avoided "J" names, because our last name starts with a J and my husband is funny about that, but anyway....I hope you can find a boy name you both like, if it's a boy. I did end up with more than one shower, but not of my own doing. Our church gave me one for baby #2, because I was due the same time as the pastor's wife and I guess they felt it would have been rude to exclude me. Our bible study gave me a very small one for baby #3. Baby #4 has downs, as I've mentioned, and spent a month in NICU. Our church had a huge shower for me--I mean it was overwhelming how many women came. I have not had a shower since, and I don't want one--I mean it's baby #7 for me
.
Morris--you will not neglect your first child. Somehow, the more children, the more the love expands, I find. I love the name Finn--very irish, which appeals to my scots/irish heritage. Oh and would you like to borrow my appetite? I'm eating enough for 2 regular sized people.
Lisa--you and Kate must be very close in terms of due date. My 2nd trimester burst of energy didn't come until just this last week--about 24 weeks along. It must be because I'm almost 40, I'm thinking. At least it came. I was starting to wonder.
Jen--I'm glad your infection is going away. I'm sorry to hear about your student. If they get taken out of the home, don't they still go to school? or has she been moved to another district? As if she needs more upheaval right now. You'd think they'd try to keep her life as constant as possible, but I really have no idea of how these things work.
Hi Anne, Hi Kristan--
My 2 year old just came downstairs to me covered in something that looks like gobs of snot, but smells like banana...I'd better go check it out.
take care all
Maggie
