TTC/Preg June 13 ** FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just finished baking the muffins and they are sooooooo good! Even my oldest son is eating one and he is so picky. I didn't tell him there were walnuts in them and so far he hasn't noticed;)

Kate good job on getting the weights in. I did PUB today and it feels great!

Candra

Candra, ^5 for sneaking in nutrients to the kiddos! I love when that happens. I love PUB - my first Cathe weight DVD.

I am really tired. I stayed up late last night and no nap today. I think we'll be going out to dinner!

The nausea & fatigue monster has sit me today. I"m going to try to w/o, despite my feelings,...kickbox step w/o....here I come!!!!!!!!

Melanie-Tell the nausea/fatigue monster to get lost, just not back to my house please.
Kate-good for you getting your weights in.
Susan-sounds like you and your daughter had a good day, mommy daughter time is the best.

My kids have built a boat in my bedroom with chairs and blankets (a tent maybe?)

Candra and Lisa-happy Friday!
Has anyone watched a Baby Story on TLC? I saw it this afternoon, such a neat show. My DD watched it with me, she is 6 so we kind of fast forwarded the delivery part. She enjoyed it.

Melanie, Goodluck with your WO!

Mikkia, Feeling okay today? LOl on the boat - that's great!
I haven't watched that show (no TV for us) but my mom does and loves it.

Does anyone here have their kids in attendance for the birth?
I'm a definite NO WAY! but I know a few people who are for it.

Mikkia, my dh and dd build forts all time. Once I came home from the store and they had all the blankets in the house out and had them attached to our poster bed. They played in there forever. DD and I watch A Baby Story all the time. She has known about babies..how they get out...not how they are made :) for years now and we enjoy watching it. Have you ever seen House of Babies on Disc Health? Kate you would like it..its a clinic of midwives..its a good show.
DD wants chinese tonight and I think that will be ok with dh..so Im not cooking! I guess I'll just be all puffy from all the salt though.
Susan

Kate my dd is 8 and I would for sure let her be present for a birth if she wanted to be. I think it depends on the child. We are very open around here and not shy about anything so that is not an issue

Kate my sister wants all her kids in the room when she delivers they are 14, 7 and 4. No way would I want my kids in there.

Candra

Susan, I hate the post-chinese sodium bloat! yucK! The food is so good though... We're very open too with our kids (they DO know how babies are made in a very age-edited way) but I/we would be so concerned with parenting them that I wouldn't be able to focus on my birth as much. I wouldn't want our parents there to help watch them either - blech!!!

Candra, Amazing! I am 10 and 12 yrs older than my sisters and there is no way I wanted to see them being born! LOL!

Oh definently no partents there..that would really creep me out. DD asked about sex a couple months ago. I decided way before I had kids that I would always be very honest and open about things like that because my mom told me nothing. I mean she didnt even explain periods to me. Anyway, we had "the talk". I answered all her questions but didnt offer info. She didnt ask any real details but when she does I'll tell her. She really cracked me up a day or so after our talk. She asked " mama do you and daddy still do "that"" I said, well, yes. She said..."well I am not comfortable with that. I will give you a schedule for when you can do that". I almost busted out laughing. She is such a hoot!

Susan, That is hilarious! Not comfortable with it! I'll remember that one for a long time! Too cute!

I just did 2 Classical Stretch Essentrics Upper Body workouts. Feeling great!
DDs will be off to bed soon...amen to THAT!

It sounds/looks like you gals are having fun!

Our realtor got back to us, the buyers have decided to look into other housing. :(
On a positive note, I really liked my new step kickboxing video.

Melanie..bummer about the house!!! We are in the same boat and getting a new realtor at the end of June. I know how stressful it is.

Melanie-Just so you have hope, one of our good friends who had their home on the market for 8 months just sold it today. They were also at their wits end.
Kate-I think it depends on the kid too. My dd would be fine to watch if I had a natural birth, but a csection probably too much (lol). My inlaws wanted to be at the birth, thank God for csections they can't. With dd(my first) they kept telling me to concentrate more!
Susan-We have 4 poster bed too, but they did not think to use it in their design.
I haven't seen the midwife delivery show on Discovery Health but I will be on the lookout.

Thank you guys. It's been over a year now. I"ve been working about 60hrs/week plus driving 16hrs/week to/from work since October. Close to 70% of my take-home pay goes toward mortgages....even with working ridiculous hours. I have missed out on so much of my kids lives, it makes me so sick! I am so exhausted, I have trouble enjoying my family when I am home,...and now that I'm pg,...it's well impossible to continue to be positive. I just feel so discouraged right now!!!! Urgh!!!!

Hi everyone-I've had a really busy day and I am worn to a raveling, to quote the Tailor of Gloucester.

We have no Father's Day plans as dh and I have an agreement not to observe it or Mother's Day--just more money spent and stress for everyone, we think--but we're sort of curmudgeons that way. Birthdays and Valentines Day are also not a huge deal. We do cut loose at Christmas though.

I have never had anyone but my Dh (and medical staff) present at any of my births, however, I think that because this is my last baby, I'll let dds 9 and 11 1/2 be there. Dd 11 1/2 wants to be a missionary/nurse/midwife, so she's particularly interested. I might have them stand by my head when I'm pushing and the baby comes out as I think they might be a little embarrassed about seeing my privates (shocking!:p ) You couldn't PAY ds 13 to be in there (and that would be embarrassing for me too). The little ones would be way too distracting.

Oh and I made Melanie's muffins, except that I used only half the walnuts and added some craisins, I used real sugar (but reduced it), and in a fit of laziness, I baked them (a quadrupal batch) in 5x9 bread pans. They are delicious. Next time I will use 3 pans instead of 2.

take care, ladies
Maggie:)

Melanie, Sorry about the house...glad you liked the new WO though.

Maggie, That would def. be something your DDs would never forget! How special to share that with them!

Mikkia, I would've cursed a blue streak at anyone for saying that and I do NOT swear! How did you keep it together?! LOL!

Melanie - Sorry about the fall out on the house offer. What a bummer! I was really hoping this was IT!

Kate - No kids at my delivery for the sheer fact that I also don't want to be parenting while in labor. They're relatively young and I think they would be bored anyway. My ds is 8 and will be 9 by the time I give birth, but knowing his personality, he would freak out. I can't be worrying about calming him down while trying to birth a baby!

Maggie - That's actually a really smart idea about baking them in bread pans. I might just do that because I hate pouring into each individual muffin thing.

Susan - Growing up you think you'll buy a home with a pool because that's so cool to have then as an adult, reality sinks in that it costs a lot of money and time to upkeep. I'm sure your kids love it though huh?

Mikkia - My dd likes watching a Baby Story. She's so fascinated with the whole birthing process. Really weird since ds is totally freaked about seeing a newborn with all that goo and blood, but dd loves it.

Baby is definitly a lot more active these days. I need more maternity shirts/tops since my "normal" tops are getting too short which just means my belly is getting bigger. I really need to get on my home projects. Maybe we'll start this weekend. We'll see.
