TTC/Preg Check in July 16th

Just a couple of seconds to get us going again. No w/o for me this AM, I overslept. Or at least that's my excuse. Tomorrow's another day--and I get Fri,Sat,& Sun off to catch up on w/o's.

Yesterday was great pg-wise. Another mixed-bag of emotional life stuff. So grateful for the "ups" to make the "downs" not seem so down, you know what I mean?

DH will pick up eldest son on Friday & I will do mini-shopping when we pick up van from dealership. We also had to replace $400 worth of seat belts that our german shepherd chewed through when we was a puppy, we'll need them for the additional car seat we'll be using in Jan. I will go to Walmart & breadstore & maybe take kids to children's science museum if I feel good enough.

Better get going to work. Will check in later---although I'm usually unable to keep up with you gals now-a-days!!!!!

Hi to all!

Susan. Glad you had a good day y’day. Wish I could’ve joined you in the pound cake and ice cream!

Jen, No worries on the berries - antioxidants, remember?! Good for you with the Wos in the AM - I wish I had it in me. School is just around the corner, isn’t it? WAH! Sorry about the bugs - yuck!

Melanie, You must've needed some extra sleep. Sounds like things are going well - good for you! We had to replace seatbelts that our dane ate in my old car. She also ate a huge chunk of the dashboard and part of the window frame - on the OUTSIDE! She RUINED that car! LOL! Friday sounds like a nice day - enjoy!

-----------------
No plans for the day yet today. Eating, beaching, hopefully stretching and walking for me. bbl........

Good Morning,
Melanie, sleep is too important for you right now. You'll have time to workout this weekend!

Tan Kate-what activities are on tap today? Oh, Im not afraid of fish but I am afraid of cats. Even nice cats. I have nightmares about how they claw me and I can't get them off of me. I am for sure a dog person.

Jen-Do you like your TJ's? I have been thinking of trying some. I never knew it took 2 weeks to kill ants. Geez in that time they could take over the house! We had an ant problem and I got this liquid bait. For a day thousands of ants came and ate it and left and that was the end of it.

HI to Maggie, Jen, Candra, Stephanie, Mikkia(US today????)Lisa, Anne.
Wonder where Trish has been??

Im glad to report I am "regular" again as of this morning.
Have any of you taken pre-natal vitamins with a stool softener?

Mom will be here by lunch. Oh today is my anniversary. We had a little trip planned, but had to cancel since I cant ride that far. We re-scheduled it for Sept. We have been married 15 and together for 20. Time sure does fly! If I had started earlier (like I should of) I would have 10 kids by now:)
Coffee time.

Susan, Tan Kate!:) It IS nice to not be pasty white! No big plans as of yet. I'm hoping to do a good shopmax! Yikes on the cat fears - does DD want one? Ours died in the winter and DDs want another one but I'm holding out for now. Glad you're a regular person again! I've never taken a stool softener but I did take a laxative once and was in the bathroom ALL NIGHT LONG with the most violent awful diarrhea you can imagine. It was like getting a colonoscopy prep! GROSS! Happy Anniversary!!! Maybe DH can bring home some fancy food for dinner?! Enjoy your time with Mama! How long is she staying?

No, so far dd doesnt want a cat..whew. A few years ago a friend of mine adopted a cat from the pound..his name was Murray. For a while that cat was fine..then bam! Out of nowhere he would attack. He took a chunk out of her moms leg one time. That cat must of had some "wild" in him. She tried everything but had to take him back to the pound. That did not help my fear! Ha.
I did take a laxative one time years ago. The gas pains were killer!
Have fun today!

Good morning ladies..and what a morning its been!
I'll start with last nite - the three kids (ages 3,6,10) were bad last nite when daddy left for work. i was tired from my early morning, long shift and being pregnant and I just couldnt deal with them too well. They all went to bed by 9pm.

This morning the youngest was sleeping in our bed (daddy works the nite shift) and when i was getting dressed for work she threw up EVERYWHERE - my bed, my carpet, my bathroom, herself, my pants..sigh. So i had to take care of her, change the sheets, daddy walked in the door and had to steam clean the carpet. She also had a mess in her pamper so she must be sick to have problems on both ends (sorry..thats gross). I just hope she ate too much junk and doesnt have a bug. That means the other 2 kids will get it and me and DH. I cant afford to get sick, plus i'm pregnant so i'd be worried.

Anyway, I made it to work on time but ew, what a morning. poor little pumpkin.

I have my FIRST check up today! 2 appointments - one with the doc and the other to get my first sonogram. Or is it an ultrasound? i dont know the difference and I forget what they said. I have a list of questions since they didnt want to see me until i was 8-12 weeks along.

Just a quick question - every now and then, and it happens often becuase i notice it, on either side of my abdonmen, in front of the hip bones i will get a sharp stabbing pain. Sometimes if i move too fast/get up quick or pick up the toddler or something else, it happens without warning. Is this normal? Or should i be worried? of course i will mention it to the dr today if i remember. Just seeing if anyone else experienced this. It will happen on both sides, but not at the same time. I dont know if its uterine pains or what!

Hope everyone has a nice day today. Be good to yourselves! I have not been able to workout since saturday but i hope to today or tomorrow, but thats not likely since i'm working and not off until fri/sat/sun

Hey jen...sorry for your rough start this morning. Nothing like puke everywhere!
I would think the pains you are having are tendons/muslces stretching out. But of course I am no expert. Its been 9 years for me and I can't remember what pains I had then!
What kind of work do you do..I forgot. A teacher?? The other Jenn is a police officer, I think.
Let us know how your US goes.

Hi Susan, I am the police officer jen :) I'm a deputy and so is my husband. I know work days and a new schedule in an office since i got pulled off the road for my 'condition'

LOL no problem. You are better than me because i cant keep everyone straight..not just yet anyway, im new to the check ins, but everyone is so nice and friendly, and very helpful!

im forcing myself to eat some yogurt right now. i jsut have zero apetite the past couple of days :(

Susan, Yikes on the cat! I don't blame ya! PS - the "other" jen is a teacher.

Jen, Hope you don't get the bug. Sounds pretty nasty! Hope she gets feeling better. Glad you get to go to the dr -it's always so much fun, isn't it? Sounds like you are getting round ligament pains. I've had them awful this pg, and had them my 2nd pg as well. Your doc should be able to confirm/deny. Sure wish I didn't have an appetite!!

DDs are being so wild - guess we need to head out to the beach and let 'em burn off some energy!

Jen, yes I got those pains too. Not to worry, just take it easy!

Hi Kate!
Its pouring rain here in Florida and im stuck at work. Wish it was me at the beach! Where are you vacationing at?

Are those ligament pains normal? do i need to be concerned? anything you can do about them? They come and go so quickly tho...but it still stinks!

Hi everyone--

I got a lot done yesterday, but couldn't stay off those feet--very puffy by the end of the day. Baby was fairly active, which was reassuring. She was not so active Sun/Mon and I had to get up in the middle of the night and eat to feel her move, so that I could go back to sleep--very bad for the weight gain, I know.

My two year old threw up also, but she'd been gagging herself in the car for amusement (and I couldn't stop her since she was too far away), so I don't think she was really sick. No more incidents with that for the rest of the day (except that she found a green pen and adorned herself.....not a washable pen either....)

Oh and I cut myself trying to slice through the heal of banana bread(stupid, stupid, stupid), because two kiddos both wanted it. It was too narrow and wobbly and the knife slipped and slammed down on the last knuckle of my middle finger--the left hand, thankfully, since I am right-handed. It is not hurting now, unless I bump it on something...

+++++
JenM--sorry about the sickness in your house--if you get it, you will be miserable, but it won't most likely won't effect the baby. The sharp stabbing pains are probably round ligament pains due to the stretching of the uterus--we all "enjoy" them.

Susan--Happy Anniversery! You and your dh have a similar timeline to me and my dh (we've been together 18 years and married 15). He's my best friend and soul mate! Where are you going on the September trip?

Kate--a tan sounds lovely. I'm afraid as a red-head that pasty white is my natural condition:p) Enjoy all that beaching, eating, walking and stretching.

Melanie--Sorry about all the van expenses--that's no fun. I did not workout yesterday and my only excuse was that I didn't feel like squeezing my swollen feet into my shoes, so I have some catching up to do too--don't feel bad.

Stephanie--glad the doctor's visit went well. Don't worry about giving me advice on the swollen feet. Even though it's the seventh child, I still haven't figured out how to avoid pregnancy woes and always welcome advice!

Mikkia--that's totally me too--I don't go to the doc unless I'm dying or pregnant. I always joke that google is my doctor:p. I'm glad that you are feeling better--cheese sticks and ham...yum...

Candra--glad everyone is home safely. That's always a relief. How long have your kids done jui jitsu? Our three oldest do tae kwon do along with dh.

Jen--sorry about the ant woes--we had quite an infestation a few years ago and it was gross. Enjoy your break before school starts again (although it sounds like you really love your job too).

Lisa and Trish--where are you guys? Just busy, I hope....

Hi Anne, Hi Morris, Hi Kristan

That's 13 and should be everyone.

Take care all--I see my ob today...

Maggie:)

Jen-its takes someone special to work in your profession! Do you work in a high crime area? Do you worry alot about dh?? I suppose that just goes with the job. Whats the most exciting arrest you have made? Sorry for all the questions!

Maggie-Seems like there is always something exciting going on around your house. And you have such a comic relief about it. You have me cracking up all the time with your stories. I totally pictured you with brown hair!!! I picture Melanie with blonde for some reason.

I walked 15 min on the treadmill..slow! Had a shower and we are awaiting for my mom..Mamama..(dd couldnt say grandmama) to get here. Not sure what we'll do today.

Hi ladies! You guys are chatty today!
Melanie--Glad you had a good day yesterday. Don't sweat the workout. I think that "Tomorrow is another day" has become my new motto. :) ((Hugs))

Kate--Hope you're still having a great time!! Henry showed me his impression of a crab this morning (cupping his hands and pinching the air) and then asked when we were going to the beach. I told him definitely next summer. I already told DH that I insisted we go next summer. It gives me a great fitness goal. :)

Susan--Happy Anniversary!!! Glad you are feeling better. I hope you have a very special and romantic day!! :)

Jen--You poor thing!! I felt so bad for you reading your post. I hate hate hate vomit. Blech. It never gets any easier, does it??? And on your bed!!! I hope your little one feels better very soon. Poor thing. Good luck on your doc appt today. I know you're excited about the sonogram! I'd just tell your doc about your baby throwing up and ask what to do in case you get it so you'll have some peace of mind. As for the sharp pains, sounds like round ligament pains, but I'd ask the doc today. Last night, I was putting up dishes, and (because I'm short) I had to reach to put a measuring cup way up high in the cupboard, and I leaned too hard against the counter and man I got a VERY sharp pain in the side of my abdomen. Baby has been kicking and acting normal since, so I think it's OK. Pregnancy just has SO many odd pains.

Maggie--Sorry you had another vomit episode too. My Henry likes to burp A LOT. He thinks it's hilarious. Well, last night he burped and burped at the dinner table until he gagged and almost threw up. I HATE throw-up, and the thought of a person making himself throw up just totally disgusts me (no fear of me ever being bulemic :)) So I have employed Kate's rule on the show Jon and Kate Plus 8 (do you watch that?). She tells her little girl who throws up as a defense mechanism that if she makes herself throw up on purpose, then she has to wear her nasty vomit clothes ALL DAY long. Well, when I told Henry that, he quit his burping/gagging right away.
--------

So, at the doc's office yesterday, I weighed 3 pounds heavier than I did that morning at my house. I didn't understand why, except for maybe because I was a little constipated and perhaps had retained a little water that morning. I told my nurse that the number was wrong, but she just rolled her eyes, like I was lying. So today, I weighed and I'm back down the three pounds. It seems EVERY TIME I go to the doc, I weigh heavier than I really am. Makes me SO frustrated. Now they think I gained nine pounds over the past month, when it was really six, which isn't fabulous, but is pretty darn good for me. Anyway, I'm planning on really watching it from here on out. Today, it's B&G for me. I'm caught up on the housework, so I plan on playing with the boys, knitting and enjoying the day. Hope everyone has a great day!! :)

Jen, We're in Traverse City, Michigan. Booooo to the rain! Ligament pains are a normal pg thing. Mine are unfortunately constant this time around. Going to the chiro helps me immensely though. So does swimming/splashing around in the pool with the kids. The water takes all the weight off my pelvis. High-intensity workouts def. make it worse so I'm a low-impact gal for the remainder of my pg - which totally freaks me out about RT - I'll be modifying like crazy I'm sure. But at least I get to go! But I didn't tell my midwives I'm going----shhhhhhhhhhh!!!:)

Maggie, LOL/So sorry about the 2-yo! Not fun on either count! Sorry about the chubby feet - it will be over soon though! Any more talk of induction?

Susan, Good questions for Jen! Good job on the TM. Have fun today!

Stephanie, Ditto on the odd pains. sorry for yours. this baby finds this spot to kick that HURTS - just to the side of my belly button. It's like she's scraping her toenail there or something! Not possible I know, but it stabs and hurts like crazy. Sorry about the scale at the drs! Half the time my midwife forgets to ask what I weigh and they honestly could care less when I do report it. Soooo mcuh nicer than my old ob!! Have fun with B&G today. Nice to be caught up on housework - have fun wiht the boys!

----
DDs and DH are watching cartoons so I just did CS Full Body Workout. I'm all stretched out! 3 days in a row!

I dont consider myself special :) but it certainly is a different kind of work. You run in to all types of people. Sometimes ones normal people would run away from lol. I worry about DH but i'm glad we are in the same line of work. It helps when someone else truly knows what the job is about becuase you have the same challenges and experiences (for the most part). He is in a high crime area. I call it the Wild West. He is always busy! We've seen and heard so much already. Gives you a different view on humanoids!

No problem for all the questions.

I havent heard from my husband so maybe he is sleeping. altho with three kids and one being sick...its probably hard to do that . hopefully the little one stopped getting sick!

off to my doctor soon!

Jen, I'm sure you and DH have a very special bong being in the same prefossion. How did you meet? Hope the kiddos are doing okay!

The beach is HOT today! Putting DDs down for a nap soon - and I'm gonna join 'em!:)
