TTC/Preg Check in July 16th

Good morning ladies!!! My gosh, I thought it was "early" to post so I wouldn't have a lot to catch up on just for today, but you ladies are busy!!

Melanie - Sounds like you have a full day ahead of you. You're almost 12 weeks already! How time flies!!

Jenmgo - Sounds like round ligament pain which is normal up until the end of your 2nd trimester according to my ob. How far along are you? Good luck at your appt.

Kate - I loved your pics that you posted a little while back. You look awesome!! Go and represent for all us preggers on the RT and what a great rep we have!

Maggie - The sacrifices we make for our kids....such a nice mommy to make sure they both could have a slice! There's nothing worse than having to clean up puke in a car because the smell somehow lingers for a few days in there. Glad dd's not sick though.

Stephanie - I don't even dare to jump on my scale at home. Although my scale and the dr's scale are pretty right on. Don't worry. You'll be in stunning shape after baby is born and who really keeps track of what we gain except ourselves, really.

Anne - I hope that was an implantation dip yesterday. Any signs one way or the other? I have yet to check out your chart this morning which I'll do right after this.

Hi Jen! Hi Trish! Hi Candra! Hi Mikkia! Hi Morris - How are you doing woman? Hi Kristan! Sorry if I missed anyone, my brain is really trying but I can't guarantee 100% performance.

Sorry I've been a little MIA. I've been entertaining houseguests and they finally left on Sunday. Now we just have our nephew until next month which happens every summer. I finally got a workout in yesterday. I did some pilates and arms. Hoping now that things aren't so hectic, I can workout more. I have a bunch of errands to do this morning before my kids start to school at the end of this month. They're on a year round system. I have to hand in their bus applications and find a place that makes name tags for their backpacks. You know those laminated ones? Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!!!

I"m really stessed & overwhelmed today. I just want to go into a cave for a couple of days and roll up into a ball & cry. Hormones?

This real estate crap/foreclosure is going to take the next 6 months--the remaining (entire) pregnancy to complete. I mentioned to my friend that I needed to go shopping for a few things this weekend & she suggested I buy things for the baby. I freaked out at told I wasn't sure where I was even going to put the baby yet---if it's a boy I'll probably "stash" him with the other boys & if it's a girl I'll have to go shopping. She made a statement like I didn't even sound happy that I was having a baby. Am I? It still seems so unreal. Maybe after I hear the heartbeat, see an u/s, or feel the baby move? I just feel so off. Urgh.

Anyway, sorry about the venting. :(

Aw, Lisa! You're making me blush! Thanks for the complimemts! You're too sweet! How old is your nephew? I bet he LOVES coming to visit you guys! Does he have other siblings? Ugh, I don't want to even think about back-to-school yet, tho I did get a call from teh bus garage confirming everything for the coming year. And I've had preschool board mtgs. School will be here before we know it...and then we'll be having babies!! ACK!!! I know once school starts I'll blink and then Ill be delivering. Crazy!

Melanie, Sorry you're having an off day - I'm sure it's the hormones. I'm sure you're happy to have a baby - but there are a lot of emotions that go with it and you have been under a great dela of stress lately. You're almost out of the 1st tri - hang in there! ((((hugs)))

DDs are down for a nap. I think I'm going to get some cardio in - thank you, laptop!

Hi everyone. Quick post. Mimi (real name Magdalena) is doing great. She's an excellent nurser and seems content that we drag her all over the place. My older girls are a HUGE help. My 2.5 year old boy has some misxed emotions- sometimes he loves her too much and other times he acts up just to get a rise out of me. He wakes up everytime she cries at night and wants to sit by me when I feed her.

I feel great. I left the hospital a day early and I am finally feeling near my old self. I am taking it easy still, but I am back to making dinner, going to Target, taking the kids out and about, etc. There's really no other way to function with 3 other kids.

I found out I get disability until 8-31, then I use my personal time off, meaning I may not return to work for quite a while. Hurray! I will probably work from home after disability expires, but I'll prolong my leave that way.

gotta run. Maggie- you're next, right? Jsut around the corner.

I got some cardio in this afternoon - nothing too impressive - Karen Voight's Calorie Burn. I'm a bit frustrated by my sluggish cardio capacity lately and having to keep things low-impact, but DH says at least I'm still exercising. Thanks, honey!:*

Kristan! SO good to hear from you! What a beautiful name for your new sweetie! (that's Maggie's name too, isn't it?) Glad to hear she's fitting in so well - it gives me hope for our 3rd. I'm a bit of a stickler about nap schedules, so I'm a little nervous how that's going to work out. Too cool on all the time off of work! How long will you be home then?!

Hi!
Melanie Im so sorry you are having a rough day. Being pregnant on top of everything else is a LOT on your shoulders. This will pass I promise. Hang in there.
Kate-good job on working out. Dh is right! Youll be doing smokin cardio again before you know it.
I am enjoying my mom. We went to the grocery store and stocked up on fruit and we're about to make chicken tetrazini for supper.
Hi to everyone!

Kate - My nephew loves it here. He has 2 half-sisters. One from his dad (my DH's brother) and one from his mom. He's really like one of our own and we put him to work}( . He's great to have around. I've had to totally lower my cardio also. I notice my heartrate goes up really fast and my ob said that's normal since our resting heartrate is up already just from the baby and extra blood in our body. And lately, I get winded a lot more quicker because my belly is really bulging and starting to move into my lung space. I've been doing a lot of low-impact things also.

Melanie - Sorry for the bad day. Hope things get better.

Hi Susan! Are you actively TTCing again?

Lisa

Hi ladies!

Melanie--I'm so sorry that you're extra stressed today. I know that the real estate issues are really really stressful. I think it was a little insensitive of your friend to say that to you about the baby. Of course you're excited. You wouldn't be here with us checking in each day if you weren't. You are just being a worried mommy. You want the best for your babies, and you will give him or her such a happy home --no matter where he/she is "stashed." :) We live in a very small house, and figured out a way to make room for another baby. If we did it, anyone can!! :) ((Hugs))

Lisa--Glad you had fun with your houseguests!! I admire you for keeping your nephew so long. I couldn't keep my nephews for a weekend, let alone a month!! I'd need to be institutionalized. ;)

Kate--Don't sweat the low impact. Your sweet DH is right! Just working out is an accomplishment. I didn't work out at all with my other two pregnancies, and so I'm quite proud just to be lifting weights (which is what I much prefer. I don't enjoy cardio.).

Susan--Glad you're having a good time with your mom! Chicken tetrazini sounds fantastic!

Still haven't worked out yet. I'm waiting until DH comes home and takes Oliver swimming. I promised Henry he could watch Bee Movie while they are gone, and that means time for a workout!! I took the boys outside today for finger painting on the easel and other art activities. It was really fun, but SOOOOO hot. Maybe tomorrow will be cooler. I also got a lot of knitting done today while they played. I'm trying to do a baby blanket. It's going to be a sad looking baby blanket, but I love love love to knit, even if I don't do it well. :) Hope everyone has a wonderful evening!!

Melanie - when are you due? I am thinking we are due around the same time but maybe i'm confusing you with someone else.

I met my husband on my first police job when we worked in DC. So we have been police partners ever since :)

I just had my first appointment today with the ob gyn. I was disappointed that my insurance doesnt cover a lot. I thought we had good insurance. I have to come up with 600 plus dollars by the time i deliver. The bill is over 4K. I also am not covered by utlrasounds or nst's or whatever they are called. considering i'm going once a month and then more further laong i am terrifed of the cost and what is / is not covered.

Anyway, they talked me into getting a special screening for downsyndrome and two other things that start with a T that i cant remember. i dont even know if thats covered, but i figured i wanted to know ahead of time in case anything was wrong, but of course i hope and pray the baby is healthy.

They told me i'm about 8 weeks along now, and my baby will be here around feb 18th or so.

I saw him/her for the first time and I almost cried. I wish my hubby was there> he's lready been thru this 3 times, but still. Not with me!
The baby was so tiny. They gave me a picture and he is upside down and i hung it on the fridge. I heard the heartbeat - 158 bpm i think - and saw the baby. It was unreal. So awesome to see that! The heart beat was loud and constant. I wish I could have watched more, it was so neat and exciting!

The doctor told me today that the pains i feel are ormal but usually dont come until the 12th week or so, so i guess my pains are a little early!

THey took tons of blood today from me too.

I go back Aug 15 for those tests.

Hope everyone is having a nice evening. DH brought home pizza since he ate wahat was supposed to be dinner. The little (sick) one wanted pizza so bad but we made her eat Dora chicken soup. She was crying because she couldnt have pizza. She didnt throw up anymore, but she has really bad diarreah, blech.

not a pleasant note to end on! sorry everyone :)

Hi Jen#2! Yes, we are due around the same time (I think). We weren't actively trying to conceive & I didn't really keep track of my periods. So,.... I think I am between 12 & 15 weeks along (probably a late Dec/Jan baby). I will have to have an ultrasound to be sure. I haven't even had my first prenatal exam! Can you believe it? Friday will be my first, although I did have a whole bunch of blood drawn ahead of time in hopes of speeding up the first visit (otherwise they'd just confirm pg).

Did you have an ultrasound already? That's awesome. I think you had the triple/quad test done. It's a blood test---that test for 3-4 things---down's syndrome being one. There are lots and lots of "false positives" on the tests--so I will decline it. With my 2nd pg I had a false positive for down's syndrome and it made for a real stressful pregnancy. You sound so excited about your pregnancy, I"m hoping my excitement will kick in soon too. ;) Are you still really fatigued?

Jen, $600 isn't bad at all. We will hit deductible this year for me $2500---and next year again with c/s & delivery $5000. So, baby will be roughly $7500 for us. Well worth it, of course, but spendy.

Thanks for everyone who left positive words for me. I really have to have a mind-set about the housing crisis---to relax & not let it rob me of my joy. I have other things to focus on! I just need some extra comfort, TLC, and prayer right now. :) Again, thanks so much for all your support. My life wouldn't be the same without all you wonderful women. :) :)

Wow-you girls are so busy today! Today was very hot and humid. DS went to his preschool for 2hours this morning (he goes every Wed morning), and I sat home and paid bills, did little things around the house. Before I knew it, the 2 hours were up! I did P90X Legs and Back this a.m., but I actually just did the legs part. This afternoon, we went to Hershey Park and I got Walkmax in there. Oh, and right before we left, we took a tour of "Chocolate World". There is this ride that takes you through a pretend chocolate factory, and the story of Hershey's chocolate is narrated. It is cute, and my DS loves it. I especially love the part where all you smell is chocolate (yum). There is also this part of the chocolate making process that shows melted milk chocolate in this big vat. I always teast my DH that I am going to jump in there naked and they will have to pull me out kicking and screaming as I have chocolate all over my face, eating it like a pig. That place is torture when I have AF!!! At least they sell fresh chocolate there, so we got some awesome cookies.
I am officially tired. I guess I should be taking more naps, but in all honestly, most days I do not have time.

Kristan-It is so nice to hear from you, and I am glad you are getting back to your "normal" self. I am also happy to hear the great Mimi report.

Jenmgo-Hi from the other Jen. Glad to hear that DD is feeling a little better besides the diarhea (sp?). I got those pains you were describing too. I thought it was just my uterus stretching b/c they were around my abdomen area. Sorry to hear about insurance, though. The dr. appt. sounds like it went well. I always opt for the test (the triple screen is what I get).

Melanie-How did shopping go? Some days are crappy with hormonal mood swings. I just take things day by day. Some days I feel like crying, and others I am fine. It's due to those lovely hormones we all have!

Susan-I love my TJs. The music is great. Cathe is better, but they are a nice change of pace. Yeah on being "regular". What kind of ant bait did you use? I called the exterminator today, and they will come out to retreat. At least they guarantee their work. Happy Anniversary!

Lisa-My DN has such an attitude all of a sudden. He is 13. I could not have him here for any length of time. I guess that gives me a taste of what's to come when my DS gets older!

Maggie-Sorry to hear about the puffy feet. I just wear flip flops all summer, and they are great. When I go back to school, I can't wear them. I did not have any swelling in my feet/ankles yet. I had it bad with first preg.Your story about your child gagging himself made me think of the time my DS did that in the grocery story. and, yes he did throw up, and the thought it was so funny.

Stephanie-I wouldn't worry about the dr's scale. I don't even care anymore b/c I know I am doing all I can to stay healthy. I wish I knew how to knit.

Kate-I wish I was at the beach. It sounds like you are having a blast!

-Jen
Hello to everyone else!

Susan, Glad you're having fun with Mom!

Lisa, checking in here is so great. I have another check-in of non-pg ladies and as much as I love them I feel like a lame-o for not being able to keep up with them in the WO dept. Us preggos gotta stick together! Glad you're having fun with Nephew.

Stephnaie, I bet you're a Great Knitter! I wish I could do it even badly, but I've never tried and honestly I don't even want anohter hobby - I'm in enough trouble with scrapbooking!

Jen, If it's any consolation we're shelling out $3800 for the birth of this one! But we made the choice to not use where our insurance wants us to go/do, so it's our own dumb fault. So, you could have a Valentine's Baby! Exciting! Your excitement on experiencing all of that for the first time is contagious! That is so cool! Make sure DH is with you for your 20-wk. US. You will about fall off the table when you see the baby then! Sorry about the little one!

Melanie, More hugs for you! Sounds like a wicked case of hormones and you're doign great!

Jen, You had a busy day! LOL on your daydream! Sounds like something I would want to do! And yes, the beach is wonderful!
