training with an injury

Hi. Recently I had a piece of hedge wood fall from our wood pile onto mainly the second toe of my right foot. It's not broken but badly bruised and cannot bend or help me with balance when doing lunges etc.... I've been doing modified ICE DVD's. I can't do the boot camp very well but can do modified versions of the others. What other video's would you suggest or what exercises would you suggest I do for the 4-6 week recovery period? Dr said I could exercise as tolerated. I can go slow on my elliptical but am not really breaking out in a sweat. I really miss my HIIT! This is the beginning of the 2nd week and I can already do more than before so hopefully I will heal faster than anticipated. HELP PLEASE.
Thanks for any advice.

I would just concentrate on upper body stuff, she has plenty of workouts that get your heart rate up while doing upper body, you could also do some biking if you have one or belong to a gym.. you could see if that bothers your foot..

If you try to do lower body stuff and aren't putting the right weight or having good form because of over compensating in some way, you'll just risk getting another injury.. I would give your body time to heal and do the upper body stuff and lower body machines if you have access to a gym..
