Top Reasons Why I love Cathe's Workouts!

I used to be a gym rat. Now I am a home fitness junkie. I am actually in a much better shape than I ever was. I owe my thanks to lots of excellent home fitness videos with top-notch trainers like Cathe.

I am a late comer to Cathe’s workout videos. Since my home fitness journey just turned 5 years old today, I just want to jot down why I love about Cathe’s home fitness videos.

1. Cathe’s home fitness videos are well-cued and produced. Cathe’s crew works hard in the videos. When I need a dose of solid workout, I turn to Cathe.

2. No annoying sales and marketing gimmicks.

3. A lot of variety in workout type and intensity. I personally favor Cathe’s resistance workout series. I think they are effective and safe for long term use without a lot of fluff.

4. Educational and informative newsletter and a solid web site support.

5. Above all, Cathe projects an image of a confident and strong woman. I am working towards that goal and getting there. It’s a huge endeavor on my part, as I am going against the grain of my immediate circle of family, friends, and colleagues whose image of a strong woman contradicts with mine. Thank goodness, my hubby is on my side, though. Cathe’s workouts kick his muscular behind sometimes!

I am editing to add one more reason to my original post on why I love Cathe's workouts. I got this epiphany while working out with Cathe this morning.

6. There's no showmanship or showwomanship in Cathe's workouts. Cathe's heavy on proper form and technique in her workouts. Her workouts are designed for me to grow vs other extreme workouts, which yours truly had attempted in the past. I've got my bragging rights completing those extreme workouts, but found myself still lacking the fundamentals.

I've been working out with Cathe for less than a year, but I'll share my reasons so far:

1) Cathe and all the members of crew actually DO the workout. There are other, very popular videos out there where the instructor walks around and talks instead of working out. The fact that Cathe does the work out makes it more authentic, like she's actually put thought into it instead of just slapping something together in a weekend.

2) Cathe pushes me like no one else. I've been working out with videos for a long time, but I've never been more determined to work hard to the finish than with her workouts.

3) Cathe doesn't talk about how great I'm gonna look, or chatter on about bikinis and tank tops through half the video. She concentrates on proper form and how great (or not-so-great :p) the exercise should feel. Very professional.

4) The workouts are HARD. No apologies.

5) I love the great website, especially the long clips of each video. I've happily spent many an hour watching video clips and revising my wishlist of videos.

6) A small one here, but I adore all the cute workout clothes. I don't have Imax 3 yet, and I'm pretty sure I'm not ready for it, but I want it just because of the cute pink outfits

I have many more, but those are the ones I can coherently express at the moment.

I started in 2008 because I couldn't do what I loved to do outside for various reasons and had to find a way to keep fit inside. Cathe is deceptively tough, and you can grow with her workouts. The most important reason for me is I DO them because I like them so much. There is zero dread factor, I look forward to lifting, HIIT or Kickbox. There is never that uggh factor. Now if I could just figure out that dang step thing.

I started in 2007 but have been off-and-on. I still go to the gym at least a couple times a week. I love Cathe's workouts for all the reasons mentioned above plus:

I burn more calories and work harder with Cathe than I do at the gym!

Many of her workouts make the time fly by!

I love feeling like I'm not working out alone.

I love that her workout are challenging.

I cannot agree with you more on this one! :) As I mentioned, there're many outrageous home fitness videos out there that really are not designed in a safe and effective manner. I myself, being a competitive fitness nut, regretfully had bought into the hype at one point.

I love the fact that Cathe does the work and counts out reps throughout her workouts. If Cathe is able to complete the whole workout with me, I know it's safe.

5) I love the great website, especially the long clips of each video. I've happily spent many an hour watching video clips and revising my wishlist of videos.

Whole-heartedly agree here. Cathe's website and workout manager are the best. People are sincere and willing to help, not to mention the fact that Cathe chimes in every now and then on the forum.

I don't want to name names here. Unfortunately, I am very annoyed by some web sites whose major purpose is marketing without proper regard to a person's fitness level or workout safety in mind.

Thanks for sharing!

Step is too hard for me.

There is zero dread factor, I look forward to lifting, HIIT or Kickbox. There is never that uggh factor. Now if I could just figure out that dang step thing.

I hear you on the step thing. I am not good at that myself. :( Unfortunately, step is just not my cup of tea. For cardio, I lean towards simple, athletic intervals, plyometrics, or kickboxing. I usually throw in some silly and fun cardio workouts during my rest period for balance.

I am hoping Cathe will come up with more heavy bag, kickboxing, or non-step cardio workout.

Thanks for sharing, too.

All the reasons above apply to me as well, but what's also cool is that you can so so many things with one work out. ( Ie: Pre-mixes , and Mix & Match options )
I have never seen, or done any work out video that has had those options. Not to mention all the many differant DVD's that Cathe has out there, it's amazing. She's got something for everyone. Weights, Cardio, Step, Hiit, Low Impact, Gym Style, Aerobics, Bootcamp, like I said the variety is unbeatable. Like many have said already though,Cathe is tough and it's a constant challenge no matter how many times I've done the work outs that I have. I STILL struggle with those blasts in KickMax !

Note to MKEmom. Those cute pink outfits in IMAX3 can be found at: www.kosusa.com ;)

Her cuing is amazing. Never realized how good until I tried other instructors.

Her workouts are timeless. I can still do the first one I bought and have fun!

The workouts are challenging enough that you want to keep working and not hard enough that you want to give up!

The workouts are easy to modify if you want to take it down a notch or make it more difficult.

Plus, she seems like a real sweetheart.

Yes! Those premixes! You pay a few extra bucks for a Cathe DVD, but it's beyond worth it!

Thanks for the website! I now have a reward in mind for hitting my goal weight... which, by the way, I have never felt more confident about reaching, thanks to Cathe.

I love Cathe because even after 3 (?4 years?) with her workouts now, I am still working hard. Only this year was I able to confidently jump over the step and do plyos up to the step. Now, I just need to work on those tuck jumps;)

I love how much stronger I have become. I can literally, run uphills that I could barely hike before. I can do Low Max without a problem, my legs look awesome.

I like that she is a bit goofy and silly sometimes. I also really like that she does the workout.

Oooh, I just can't wait till Monday!!!!:D:D

This is a biggie for me. Back in the late '90s when there wasn't all that much to choose from I had a VHS and the instructor, at one point, would say....."Look great from behind!" That made me want to throw things at my TV. Not only was I going through a divorce and convinced that no sould would ever want to look at my behind again anyway...SHEESH!...I was working out for myself.

Then All Step came into my life and Cathe was all "work-work" and I was all "halleluia!"

Sorry so long, but this one really gets my goat.

Now, I may not love her the best today since she just tried to kill me with all those windmills in Intensity but.......I'll be back!

Definitely agree with all.

The first thing I noticed was that she actually did the ENTIRE DVD. Now, when I do something other than Cathe (rarely), I find it so annoying that the instructors stop and talk. Man up, and show us that you can do the workout too.

I started Cathe a little over a year ago and because of that, I was able to complete a half-marathon and a full marathon. Plus, after many years, I was able to finally hit my goal weight (total loss of 60 pounds). I would have never dreamed before that I could do that.

Really looking forward to the new series!!!

Thanks Cathe!!

I love Cathe's DVDs because:
1. Sometimes when I'm about ready to give up, she says "four more" and I think I can do that many more - almost done.
2. She is very motivating.
3. Cathe never talks about how great she looks.
4. Very challenging workouts.
