So I just received my tonique dvds ( i got 1 and 2). I'm currently previewing tonique 1 and it looks sooooooo hard! It looks even worse than butts and guts!!!! I'm not sure I have the courage to try it tomorrow morning but I just might be up for the challenge. Looks like it will be a good cardio workout too. I may have to try and incorporate it a couple times per week once i give it a go. How many times a week do you all use it?

It's hard, but just work up to it -- take breaks if you need to. It's an excellent cardio workout as well, you are correct. In fact, I have been using it as my cardio as well as lower body work. I started with once a week, worked up to one week of three times in a week, just to see if I could, and now it's about twice a week that I do it. It does get "easier".

I just received all three Tonique DVDs on Sat and did Tonique 1 in its entirety on Sun, OMG , my rear is still so sore , I am blown away, pleasantly surprised at how tuff it was , can't sit down, lol, but very happy! Can hardly wait to try others

So far I've done the original Tonique and Tonique2/Disc2 in full and had some major DOMS from them. Aside from that I've done 15 segments of Tonique2 as add ons to my work outs and this morning I did 2/3 of the Mat work out. I have a feeling I will have toilet seat issues tmrw morning! This series is awesome!:D

What is Tonique and where will I find it?

Thanks,

Clare

Hi,
I am just looking into "Tonique" as well. I found them on exercise tv where you can download them as well. The workouts are all forms of squats/lunges/mat work/and high impact cardio. I have yet to get mine but she says she got her body into great shape after 2 babies with tonique method. She also uses very light weights perhaps 2lbs and her own body weight. There is a breakdown of the workouts over on videofitness. HTH.

I read all your good post about Sylwia so I ordered tonique 2 and matwork yesterday. I'm agree she is really a nice person she is so kind and sorprise sorprise ..... she speak also in italian :eek:.
I'm looking forward to receive the dvds.
Ciao

I got my first Tonique as a gift but purchased the other 2 myself directly through the Tonique website and they came super fast and shipping was cheap!:)

I own all of the Toniques, but only tried T1 so far. It is a great lower body/cardio workout.
There is VF member who breaks up the lunge/squat segments using the elliptical. I think she replaces the cardio drill with it too. I thought that was a great idea! Something different and I think you could use CC for the intervals.

Okay, all you enablers! :)

Since all these workouts are available for download, which means semi-instant gratification, I am thinking of downloading one of them for today's workout. But I had Cathe's High Step Training Advanced on the agenda for today, so if I do something else, I would like for it to be an "equal" replacement...meaning I'll hit upper and lower body plus cardio. Are any of the Toniques like that? I've read that they're primarily lower body with some cardio factor, but since it's supposed to be a complete system, there's bound to be some upper body in there...right??

I appreciate any help - I'm ready to take the downloading plunge with just a little shove in that direction!

Lindsay,

I have HST for my workout today too. I personally feel Tonique lacks upper body work. You do some combination moves (upper and lower), but she uses very light weights. IMO, it's a lower body/cardio focus. You could do the workout and then supplement it with a shorter upper body workout if you want to lift heavy.

Thanks, fit44, that is a good idea. I was considering tonique2 since it has two workouts...I could do one and see how I like it before committing to download the other one! I'll just slightly rearrange my rotation so I still get HST in later in the week. Easy enough! :D

I just wanted to say I dangerously underestimated Tonique 2 (workout 1). I assumed that I could pretty much handle anything, as a long time Cathe fan and Insanity grad, and Tonique just looked so....girly (sorry!!).

WRONG!!

I was not expecting to have such an elevated heart rate for so much of the workout, was really not expecting to NEED 2 pound weights, was not expecting to have to skip reps, was NOT expecting that dizzy-nauseous feeling I associate with Insanity, and was not expecting a total lack of cool down or stretch! (I just tacked on Stretch Max after I recovered from nearly blacking out...)

I did have a hard time understanding Sylwia but not so much that I couldn't follow the workout. It seemed a little "low budget" but with a workout like that, who cares??? Definitely going to include this in a regular rotation and will download the other Tonique 2 and the mat workout when time permits.

Just an FYI, i had emailed Sylvia about upper body work and she is currently working on filming an upper body workout. I chickened out doing Tonique yesterday. Mabe tomorrow I'll go for it.
