Tom Cruise on Oprah

Yes, I agree with you. This Oprah was quite different than the one when Sheryl Crow was on with Lance Armstrong. They OBVIOUSLY care deeply about each other, but the difference is ...is that you just see that in their genuine and sincere feelings towards each other and the way they look at each other. They were a sweet couple.

I have one more comment, someone mentioned that they hated the way Oprah was acting as well, I agree. What is up with her lately? All of a sudden she's "all that". She's never been that way before. I hate the way she acts with actors like Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Its sickening. I don't know, maybe I'm just sick of her show, but she is getting on my nerves lately. She doesn't seem "genuine" anymore. Its more showy/TV type thing.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Tom Cruise has never done anything for me, I did like him way back whenhe was in Top Gun, but never saw what the big deal is about him. I am so glad I wasn't the only one watching the Oprah show and thought he was so "ANNOYING" Give me a break, and what about the audience, you would have thought it was God coming out. I'm happy that there are other women out there that feel the same way I do. - Pam p.s I think I got a cavity watching it, so "sweet"!!

I had to reply to this one because I was just complaining to my husband this morning about all the hype over Tom Cruise being so "in love" and all the interviews and air time he's getting because of it. What is this girl some kind of goddess or something? Celebrities fall in and out of love all the time, just wondering why this relationship is supposed to be such big news. Give him 6 months- he'll have someone else. The news media crack me up when they make such a huge production out of this stuff but apparently some viewers eat it up. I used to be a Tom Cruise fan but his gazing UP into her eyes for the camera gags me. OK. I'm done venting about that. Not sure why that bugs me.

Now there you go, Lance and Sheryl. I remember that show. Now that was sweet!

Yeah, I agree with whomever posted about Oprah being kind of annoying these days, too.

I am now kinda curious to know what happened in Katie's last relationship, she was engaged to Chris Klein (he was in American Pie and a few other teeny movies) but they broke up about 2-3 months ago I believe. She rebounded pretty quickly. Not for nothin' but Chris Klein was an ABSOLUTE hottie, I wonder what went wrong, they were engaged for years. Just because he was hot doesn't make him a "better" man, I know, just thought I would throw that in there (I thnk he is one of the most beautiful men alive), LOL. The whole thing does look weird, I hope its for real for their sakes but he looks more like her dad or something. He does love tall women doesn't he? And I did notice that everytime I see them in pictures or on tv and he is kissing her she seems so awkward like she is backing away??? I just hope he doesn't regret this in a few months like when J.Lo. and Ben were on tv telling the world about their love and how real it was and it was forever, yada, yada. Although I am sure they too thought it at that time. Oh well, I do hope that its for real, good luck to them both :+

>I used to kind of, sort of, think he was cool but now he gags
>me. I think he is nearly old enough to be her father for
>crying out loud....nearly. How would you like to be a dad and
>meet a man only a few years younger who is smarming on your
>daughter.
>
>As previously said by someone...Tom is old enough to know
>better.

ITA, couldn't have said it better.

I think Tom and Katie's relationship is more fake than genuine...not sure of the reason but it looks fishy to me. Most Hollywood couples try to keep there private lives just that...private.

Also, it's the way they kiss...kind of like how I kiss my brother...no romance at all, kind of "hard lipped"...then she starts smiling and Tom is kissing her teeth! All I see is those two kissing...or should I say, I always see Tom kissing Katie's teeth!?

It's a scam! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I happened to be home yesterday with a sick kid so I could watch Oprah which I don't normally get to do. Tom Cruise appeared to be putting on a performance in which he was guilty of serious over-acting.

One of the reasons I say this is because a local guy who does movie reivews and interviews different Hollywood personalities interviewed Tom Cruise once and his laughter was over the top. They actually playback his laugh on the radio station every now and then and make fun of it. Everything the interviewer said was hysterical to Tom because he gave the same laugh over and over again. He's either a really, really happy person or I don't know what.

Well, I am and always have been a fan of Tom Cruise. BUT...this does appear so fake! One of the most telling things to me was when he FINALLY spit it out about how they met. He said he helps people out and is known for giving advice to people on how to make it, it just made me think he called her up and said hey...we've both got summer movies out, how about we create a little extra publicity for ourselves.

She always looks more hesitant about this than he does. The audience's screaming was annoying, Oprah was getting on my nerves, and how many times did he get down on one knee and pump his fist!?!?! I love his movies though, always have. I hate to see him resort to thisx(

I do think War of the Worlds looks good anyway.

I don't know why I remember this (probably the first time I realized that something like this could be drummed up for publicity) but about 5 years ago there was a remake of the Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton "Cleopatra" (where THEY had been all hot and heavy in real life, apparently) and then the remake starred Billy Zane and this gal, and they went around promoting the movie and saying they were dating/engaged. Everyone was like, oh la la just like in the original, famous relationship with Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton. But then (Zane & whomever) subsequently split up later. It was soooo obvious it was a publicity stunt.

Makes me laugh when people say "oh I saw it on..." or "I read it in..." and then swallow everything the media dishes up as if it is reality.

Someons said shame on Tom Cruise for having a relationship with Katie. Most men are saying I wish I was him. Besides If you say shame on Tom for having such a younger girlfriend, what would you possibly say to Demi Moore and her relationship with Ashton Kutcher.
