To the Max: 2 thumbs up!

I've just completed Th the Max and I am bewildered in amazement: this time Cathe has really outdone herself!
This workout has everything you want if you like high intensity and want to feel your heart-rate goign up there. It is very well built and perfectly structured: the cardio segments flow one after the other (solid step first- tabata and then Hiit 30/20) while Cathe alternates compound or plyo movements according to your energy level: I really appreciated the sequence of the exercises because the pace "slows down" just right when you need it so you push yourself literally "to the max" because you can increase range of motion instead of speed, so that you get out the most of each segment.
I think Cathe has condensed all her knowledge and years of experience in this workout because I really had the sensation of her working out at my side, like if she was hearing me breathing heavily or recovering and then making me dig deep again.
I was in love with Athletic training, so loved even more the leg work and the core/upper body work: I found them the right complement to a well rounded routine like this.No muscles will be negleted, you'll find yourself dripping with sweat but with a huge sense of accomplishment at the end!
I couldn't be more happy of this workout and I am really thankful to Cathe to have trained me so well to be able to enjoy this ...and make exercise such a fun part of my everyday life!!!

Big kudos to Cathe's crew: they are all in excellent shape and all so inspiring!
Now...Cross fire: I'm off to you! Not today though...;)

Thanks for the review Ellie!! Sounds like you had an incredible workout

I love AT, so I know To The Max is gonna impress the heck out of me .

Come back and give your review on Cross Fire...blue firewalker Tabata . I know you can do it :D.

Nice review! Do u think it can be modified to low impact?

Well you have 2 low impact premixes, in the first one you have the solid step portion which could be easily modified into low impact, and then you have a slide and glide tabata segment. The second option is slide and glide tabata only and it is shorter. Or, if you have the downloads, you can use the blender and merge to the max slide and glide tabata with the one you have in crossfire. To the max is a multi-impact workout and I found it very challenging because, being only 5 feet tall, jumping on my step at maximum height put my endurance to the test and I think it was itended to be used as is, but you may want to keep some of the moves grounded or increase your weight load and still enjoy a good sweat.I think you should preview it and tweak the moves which are too hard on your joints... hope this will help a bit! I am sure other Cathletes will give you other suggestion as well;)

Thanks Ellie! I've previewed both videos and cants wait to e able to try them, but I'm STS'ing and cant fit it in until Saturday, so it's great to read about your experience! Can't wait to hear about crossfire, which looks really, really, really awesome!

Ellie, thanks for the thorough informative review! I tried To The Max this morning, and agree with everything you said. I only have two sets of step risers, but I have to say two was *plenty* for me! ;) I was a sweaty mess when I finished, but I'm so proud that I was *able* to finish!

I had to laugh last night, because my 10-yo DD was peeking over my shoulder as I previewed To The Max. About 7 minutes into the *warm-up,* she mentioned how pretty Cathe is. Then she said, "How is her makeup not running down her face?" I always wonder the same thing, but I agreed that even the warm-up looked intense, LOL! :D

I'm especially looking forward to seeing how Cathe works To The Max and Crossfire into a wo rotation. I have no idea what kind of wo to do tomorrow - I'm spent!

I totally agree Ellie! It was amazing! I'll admit, there were a couple times I had to quit before finishing the last 1 or 2 reps because I was gasping for air! But, I think after a couple/few more tries, I'll prob be able to do them all.

One major point....for anyone who has trouble with choreo...you won't have any trouble with this workout! I am usually very choreo-challenged when it comes to NEW workouts till I've done them a couple times. This workout is very easy to follow!

To The Max = A+ FOR: FUN FACTOR, GREAT MUSIC & and INTENSITY!
