To pre-order or not to pre-order?

RE: Shannon!

"i guerss i'm the only one who thinks that $30.00 for ONE dvd is expensive (i pre-ordered... but i still that that's a LOT of money for a DISCOUNTED price!)

i pay less than that for other GREAT workouts (per dvd.... i don't care how much is on the dvd... it's still ONLY ONE dvd!)"

Well, then, don't order the damn things. You've done nothing but complain about this pre-sale!

Is it possible to cancel the preorder once you get a glimpse of the workout previews? That way, you lock in the early low price, but if you decide it's not for you, no lasting damage to your credit card.
Just a thought...

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

RE: Shannon!

I agree, Shel!

Personally, I am not hung up on how many DVD's there are. Look at Cathe's other DVD's that have two workouts...Bootcamp and Cardio & Weights, for example. They cost more than $30 per w/o. I think it's a great deal. Like LauraMax, I like more than 30 minutes of cardio but I can always do add-ons and I am sure there will be PLENTY of premixes. I don't think you can go wrong with these workouts!

Forgive me for being a complete goober...but when does the pre-sale end? I looked but couldn't find that info.

I of course will shamelessly purchase them at any price, check the website countless times for scoop, check my mailbox one hundred and fifty two times daily like a school girl awaiting an autographed Justin Timberlake picture, and squeal with delight when the box arrives, doing the happy dance fifty two times until I trip over my own shoelaces.

I pre-orderd! I wouldn't have it any other way, but of course I have all of Cathe's workouts, including all of her weight work.

I know there were a few people complaining about $30 for one DVD - well let me say this - Cathe is the queen of premixes. Her BLAST Series was her best (IMHO) with her premixes. I still use that series quite a bit. You just cannot go wrong with this.

I am so happy that SNM decided to go with two workouts on one DVD. That is what I wanted on the last series. Can you just imagine what could have been done with Body Max 2 and B&G's together? It makes me shake with the anticipation of all those premixes and workouts that could have been put together. Or how about LIC and Drill Max on one DVD? I absolutely LOVE her latest series, but I must add I would have loved it much more on 2 DVD's instead of 4.

I have a ton of other workouts that are not Cathe and I have to say there is NO ONE who can put premixes together like Cathe. On the Blast Series there are approximately 22 premixes on each DVD. If you do the math you are getting 66 premixes on 3 DVD's plus the original workout!

WOO WOO! I hope that SNM continues to do all of the rest of Cathe's DVD's coming up in that format! You get so much more bang for your buck!

ahh yes... the cathe fanatics are out in force...

this is a forum... i'm offering MY opinion... there is nothing that says we aren't allowed to say our opinions on here even if it is against cathe on occasion....

i love her workouts.. that's why i do them... but i also realize she's not my "friend" which so many here seem to forget.. she's running a business and trying to get money from us... NOT friendship

whatever....

i ordered because she's already had $250 of my money for almost 2 years now....

too bad she didn't make it easier to use those cards they pushed so hard when they first came out....

I preordered. I like the idea of a four day split with cardio and weights in the same day. I envision doing the four day split with and additional full body workout (like MM) and only working out 5 days a week instead of 6.

Cheryl, You must be one of them thar "Cathe Fanatics" I've heard tell about!!}(

Just kidding! You bring up some valid points, and I'll be pre-ordering myself soon!

Aw forget it. I just put my order through as I am afraid I will forget all about it while I am on vacation.

RE: Shannon!

I don't know that anyone here claims Cathe as a friend although I am sure some do. The prices are what they are so you can either choose to order (which you have--congrats and enjoy!) or not but no amount of complaining from anyone is likely to change the price given the demand for her workouts. I can't speak for others but I can say her workouts have been worth every penny given the many, many times I have pulled them off my shelf for a good sweat.

RE: Shannon!

I'll admit I'm a big fan of Cathe. And yes, I'm well aware she's not my friend and she's running a business.

I'm just pointing out that you haven't had a good thing to say about this whole process. The ordering, the price... order or don't. It doesn't have to be such a big melodrama.

yes.... i've b!tched about this all morning but that's cuz they started me out with a "bad taste" in my mouth over the whole gift card thing!

1st: i had issues with using the gift cards OVER 6 months ago when ordering the calendars... however at least then they had the "order by check" option.... THAT was even gone this time...

2nd: to circumvent (spelling) that... i asked on the ask cathe forum AS SOON AS i heard the presale was announced so they could clarify for me AND any other gift card holders!

3rd: goes back to "1st" the instructions on their website are WRONG cuz they say to use gift card

4th: i called customer service and even they couldn't help me!

so i was getting more and more frustrated!

i didn't even look at the prices when i went to the pre-order... that was an after thought and led to my 5th: they ARE expensive, IMO.... but as cathe already had $250 of my money.... of course i was going to save myself $20 and pre-order....

and 6th: WHY is it taking them so long to get their site set up to take the gift cards? they aren't new.... it's been almost 2 years?

now with this... i'm done b!tching...... no doubt i'll be happy with the workouts when i get them..... once i'm done being mad at the clusterF this morning....

i'm going to go read harry potter (i've got less than a month to finish the last 3 books again! YIKES!)

For the record, Cathe is my friend. I don't care if people think I'm delusional or slightly stalkerish, but I like her even if I don't really know her.

Also for the record, I think she does care about whether we like her or not. Crap, her persona is part of what makes her workouts so darn great! I've done serious calorie burning workouts that I've tossed b/c the instructor annoyed me so much. Cathe is just one cool chick. :)

RE: Laura!

No! LMAO! You are the spawn of satan, I swear! }(

I'm gonna wait to see the blog update. I'm guessing we'll get more details after the RT, then I'll think about pre-ordering.

In the meantime, anyone know who's having a sale on washer/dryers this w/e?

RE: Laura!

Hmmm, no I haven't heard about any sales on washer/dryers but did you hear there is a HUGE sale going on over at cathedotcom????

AMEN!!

RE: Laura!

AND, did I mention that they are ONLY $15.00 PER WORKOUT????

Yeah, and as noted above, actually way less with all the premix options that are sure to be on there. Just this morning I was doing Scrambled Legs/Eggs from BM2. As I was doing the plie squats and a puddle of sweat formed at my feet from perspiration rolling down my body (eww, tmi), I couldn't help but feel really lucky to have these quality workouts and premix options. Of course, I might have just been having oxygen deprived delusions of blessedness.

And Cathe is my friend and personal trainer. Proof? We always high five during LIC after the first blast, she always answers my questions in a Rocky Horror Cathe Show kinda way during the work outs and is available to answer questions here on the boards, plus truly considers feedback from her fans when she creates workouts.

Yes! I did this with the last new DVDs. Of course, once they came out and everyone was raving about them I ended up wasting days on e-bay trying to buy them at a lower price and wishing I hadn't cancelled my preorder. Anyway, when I cancelled I sent an e-mail to customer service at cathe.com and they took care of it within a day. Very simple!

I also wrestled with this one, so I'll try and balance out the enablers in this post. :7

I'm not real jazzed about the 4-day split format, so I decided to save my $$ for the boxing series and MP3 workouts (which I'm REALLY jazzed about) that are supposed to come out later this year.

BTW - Laura, how are you liking your new digs?
