tight hamstrings

Cathe, My DD has a question for you, is there any way untighten "super tight" hamstrings? They are very tight when she tries to stretch. I got her your Stretch Max DVD and she has been using that, but is still tight. Is it the hamstrings, or could it be her back, or ?????? Thanks, Kay
 
I would really like to hear the answer as well. After I work my legs my hamstrings are super tight for the next two days, even if I do a really good job stretching them out.
 
A stretch a martial arts/kettlebell instructor recentely taught me
Put your toes on a 2" thick mat and bend over to try to touch your toes. Hold for the count of 3, then straighten back up. Repeat for reps. Then turn around, so your heels are on the mat. Again do the toe-touch series. Standing while doing these lets gravity aid you in the stretch. Do daily, or even 2-3 times a day if really tight.

I also would like to see Cathe's response to this question. I stretch regularly and I still have trouble with a tight hamstring. Is it a back problem or ?
