Deb – thank GOODNESS it’s just indigestion!! What a relief. Thanks for letting us know about the clear report!! How cute he's going to be eating that yogurt!! You know, I think I have a catalog somewhere at home that has actual BRA tanks. Like ones that have an actual bra (so you order your size like your bra size) and it looks just like a tank top, but you have underwire to support those girls! I can see if I can find it if y’all are interested. Maybe even Victoria’s Secret has those? I betcha they do – don’t they have everything? But I know the one in particular I’m talking about is a different company – though I can’t for the life of me remember.
Lainie – I mentioned it, I think, back when I first was allowed into the Melty Maidens! (hmmm… sounds like a gang - I like it!) I know it’s really hard to keep up with everyone (especially those who are as verbose as me). I’m a speech pathologist (hence the verbosity). Right now I’m working on a mobile medical clinic where we diagnose and recommend treatment for patients (all ages except infants) with dysphagia (disorder of swallowing). It’s one of those things we take for granted – and most people go, “I never knew you could have trouble swallowing.” I do the study, and dictate what’s happening, and the doc runs the x-ray. We mix barium in different textures and consistencies of food/drink and watch what happens in the oral cavity, pharynx and esophagus. I’m on the van today, and my last study I had to recommend the pt be NPO (which means they are not safe to eat by mouth, meaning the food/drink is spilling into their airway and lungs, and could create pneumonia or a host of other issues). It was very sad! There were no strategies that would help him (and I tried everything in my bag of tricks – trust me). I hate doing it, but I always tell them (if they’re cognitive) that someone has to be the guardian of their quality of life. Our job is to just inform what is happening, and what the risks are, but the decisions are ALWAYS up to the family/patient. If it were me, unless there was rehab potential, I’d eat and drink what I want. No tubes please. Most times there IS rehab potential, thankfully.
Good luck with your WW! I know a lot of people that have great success on it. And so sorry about all the potty-ness! And after all that cleaning and fussing around the house! I don’t know how you stay awake, quite frankly.
Robin – Well, this probably won’t make you feel any better, but I challenge ANYONE to say anything to you. * puts her dukes up* I’m sorry it happened for sure, but EVERYONE makes mistakes! Even big huge ugly ones (which yours wasn't). The key is how you recover from it. Right? Big hugs to you! It’s okay!!! You’ll REALLY need those wings and beer, eh?
Hey everybody! BBL to read up.
