This One's For the Girls

I have very eclectic taste in music. A child of the 70's & 80's, I also dig 50's & 60's music. I love everything from Elvis to Pit Bull, but if you ask me I will say my favorite genre (since the early 90's) is Country. In the past year or so, nothing much in country has turned me on, but today I was scouting some new country music on the Nashville (XM station) and was wowed by "Quarterback". Not only does Kira Isabella have a beautiful voice, the song contains the elements of country I love, a good story song with a tough lesson to learn & totally relavent to current times.

I swear repeat buttons were made for girls. I must have played it over 50X in the car after I downloaded it from iTunes

Her voice is typical Nashville country lovely but basically it's a song about a girl who gets drunk and is RAPED. When she is 13 or 14 years old. With an implied pregnancy resulting from that rape.

And gee, what's the tough lesson we're supposed to have learned from this?

Hunh. That's gross. And it's not for this girl, thanks.
