This is Levi, my main man.

Absolutely. That's why when you're looking to breed a horse to a particular sire, you have to see what his offspring looks like. There are wonderful stallions out there that move like a dream, but you would never know it by looking at its babies.

I hope there is a special circle of hell for developers, don't you?

I saw a show the other day on RFD TV. It had a dressage rider on a beautiful gray horse, but man, was he massive! She looked like a bug up there. To each his own, but I like it when the size of rider or horse doesn't overpower the other.

I have a 16 hand QH with a big body and sprung ribs. I'm 5'2 (short legs)and I feel like his body type doesn't quite fit mine. But you know, it's really about the journey and not how it looks. I used to care how I was progressing and the ribbons and such, now I just enjoy the feelings of riding. We'll probably never get to Rome, but it's a great ride anyway.

It does look strange, doesn't it?

What I meant to say a few posts back is that it's NOT my place to say what is comfortable for another rider - not that it IS my place to say such things!

I think the realtionship you can have with a horse is pretty amazing. For me it's the process of teaching and learning on both sides - and hopefully I will be successful in that process.

My first horse was a horse that didn't quite fit me either - but I still learned a lot from him. I would rather ride a less perfect horse with a more agreeable personality than a horse that is perfect but a PITA to work with.

I wholeheartedly agree. :) For years I was the type of rider that was pretty agressive, but it was a one way street, I wasn't listening. I've FINALLY started to listen and every ride is a good one. Horses are amazing creatures. They tolerate so much from us.

Oh my gosh! He is incredibly beautiful. I LOVE horses.

By the way, I'm in Severn, Maryland. There's so much building going on around here that all the animals are migrating to the little bit of land that's left. We now have many, many more deer than we used to in our woods, & fox...lots of fox.

What part of Maryland are you in? DH is from Chevy Chase, I was raised in Glen Burnie, mostly.

Levi is beautiful. I absolutely love horses. I used to have 3 when i was growing up, we lived on a farm. (parents still live there but no horses.) I can't wait to move back to the country and buy my own!
