Deb, I'm also old enough to remember every single one of these songs all too well. There's only one I don't know: the top hit on the day I was born was a song called The Poor People of Paris by Les Baxter. Have you ever heard of that??? Who is Les Baxter???

Nanc!

That one doesn't ring a bell with me either. I wonder if we'd know it if we heard it???

Day I was born: "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees

18th Birthday: "One Sweet Day" by Mariah Carey and Boys II Men

Kind of weird that one's about living and one's about dying! People tell me I look like Mariah (before the implants and skeeziness of late). Hmm.

Kelly

clarification--I don't mean implants are bad--just that she's got implants (and I got nuthin') and she's also kind of skeezy now.

I don't know folks, I think mine takes the cake....

#1 song the day I was born - Frankenstein by Edgar Winter Group (YIKES!)

#1 song on 18th birthday - I Don't Wanna Cry by Mariah Carey

I like the 2nd song a lot, but don't think I want it as my theme song...

When I Need You - Leo Sayer (US)

Free - Deniece Williams (UK)

I have no idea which either of these are... hmmm... maybe this explains why I have no direction- I don't recognize my own theme song!!! LOL

This Is How We Do It - Montell Jordan (US)
Dreamer - Livin' Joy (UK)

LOL I don't really know these, either...

Sigh. I'll just back out of this thread quietly... ;)

I'm sure I must have danced to the Montell Jordan one at some high school thing... ? Maybe not, though. I was into more academic stuff then... :D

I remember Les Baxter (kind of big band guy I think) and I've heard of that song, but I can't remember anything about it. Apparently they started keeping track of these hit parade rankings in 1955.
