The world of Add-ons & Creative Premixing

Biteset

Cathlete
So, I recently discovered that a bunch of you use the "blasts only" premixes from Low Max or Imax 3 as Add-Ons to other workouts, such as cardio.

This got me wondering what ELSE you all do!

What are your favorite add-ons? (especially legs focused)

Also, combining premixes--I know somebody who combined the Gym Style uppers so she could do upper body in one workout. She used one of the timesaver options.

What are your favorite premix or segment mixes? (90 minutes or less..., even 75 minutes or less)

Do any of you piece together a workout with little parts? Like blasts, KM leg conditioning drills, PLB floorwork...?

I'm sure there's a wealth of ideas here!

Gisela,
One evil, hyphenated word: Mish-Mosh. Just run and search for Aquajock's Mish-Moshes and you will be pleasantly surprised at the number of painful ways to combine Cathe's workouts and premixes}(

Have fun:eek:

Weeeeellllll...yeah...I've noticed the mish-moshes.

The thing is--I'm completely and utterly intimidated by the prospect of attempting anything that Aquajock might do. If I understand correctly, she's hardcore and badass--with her workouts. Seriously fit and in shape, and ceaselessly searching for new and more punishing ways to improve and stretch her level of strength and endurance.

Truthfully, I haven't even cracked a peek at any of her mish-moshes. I'm a little scared. Should I be? Should I take a look?

Aquajock--if you ever read this--sorry I spoke about you behind your back! ;)

I love Aquajock's one with:

Imax 3 warm up
Imax 3 blast premix
Step Blast Challenges
Imax 2 Blasts only
Bootcamp Cardio only

Incredible workout!!!!

I also love the 15-15-15-15 which you'll find in a search.

Have fun!!

I love combining leg circuits ie. CTX PowerCircuits warm up to end of circuits then add on BodyMax or BodyMax2 Leg Circuits. When an exercise is repeated like static lunges I'll sub in something like the 'lunge kick series' a la LowMax blast #2 or the 'slow squat/lunge back' from LowMax blast #6. It works perfectly with exercises done one leg at a time so you know when to switch sides. Had a nice workout this morning doing CTX PowerCircuits and Step & Intervals back to back. Finished off with both B&G ab section and the stretch, took 90 minutes.

HSTA works well for add ons to, love the cardio only premix and the lower body only is quick and sure gets in there, man that's a lot of leg presses!!! :)

Gisela - The Bald One has ears behind her back - your punishment will be to do all of my mish-moshes back-to-back until you've come to the end of the list! }(

And just to clarify: I'm actually bardcore and hadass, if you please, not to mention sheriously sit and in fape, and searchlessly ceasing for pew and more nunishing ways to disprove my level of ength and strendurance. Let's get our nomenclature correct, shall we?

But seriously folks -

I just copied several strings of mish-moshes for Kristen on the OD forum, to give you some ideas.

Mish-moshing is easy - just take a few of your favorite drills and string them together the way YOU want. Whatever intensity level you feel like, whatever training effect you feel like. That's what makes Cathe's DVDs so perfect - they're designed for YOU to custom-build your own program.

One mishmosh that I love is BC cardio and lower body only premix combined with HSTA cardio and upper body premix.
