Morning Coolers! (Thanks for the new identity jeanette - I LUV being a "cooler"!!!)

Well it appears that Wednesday we all just talked ourselves silly so everyone was tired yesterday...at least too tired to type!:+

Puter up & functioning:7 , a new client officially signed yesterday:7 & a bugger of a hip issue for me:-(

All I know is that somewhere between GS Legs & Plyo Legs I can hardly walk at all - cant bend forward- cant semi squat- cant sit upright- cant stand once I sit...YES- I am more pathetic looking than my rehab clients ...Its the hip muscle - thank goodness its a muscle...! YIKES this is a bad one. Am going to research the best course of action on WebMD & AFPA this morning.... I REALLY want to get in P90X Sh/Bi/Tri & will do so as I need the muscle rebuilt- will just modify & probably not lift heavy-

Great workout!!! Hope those hammies are nice & loose today..well- Firm but loose!;-) Hope today is relaxing as Saturday will be 150MPH I'm sure. DH told me late last night that he is waiting for me to finish work Saturday (11am) to go to bay...I think he jas finally assimilated the outrageous amount of $$ that we had to spend in March- add in his new shiny 1800.00 tires & I told him how the cow ate the cabbage! :7

:* Jeanette
^5 to DH & that painting! I wonder if mentally its excrusiating for him to stay on track...Wendell would be showing signs of torture about now! ~ So glad you are getting back out to that golf course regularly... I still have a hard time imagining the late "winters" everyone appears to have..even Debra! I shall forever feel like I live in the Bajamas! Hoping you start to fully heal that head gunk! Its been a long road!!!

:* DEBRA
Yes- thanks for the reminder about Wendys schedule this time of year...I was worried about her but it makes perfect sense...See, we all really do NEED to take mini breaks from time to time... Other than vacations have you ever taken a break from here? I dont think so... As hard as it feels the first day or 2 for me I always get alot out of the time away. ~~ LMAO on the Spending Spree! You go girl! Its not like you're spending ba-zillions right? Just a few necessities for spring/summer!}( LOL on your abs obsession now! Yes, there is ALWAYS some part that needs extra attention...although for the life of me I cant figure out why???? We are just a body obsessed nation I guess. You go girl- Hold those planks an extra 4-5 minutes please!;-)

:* Christiane
Well THERE you are! Welcome back to good old USA! Hope the family is well & its just a busy time... take care of yourself in your travels.

Hi all,

Please try to overlook any typos, I ran out of time.

Today will be some cardio and yoga, plus I'd like to get in some core. I'm realizing if I just do core consistently, which I hate, it is actually looking pretty good. I did LIC core on Wed and that is a nice short core that gets in there good. I can finally do some supine core work without aggravating my back. I guess that's progress.

Nothing exciting is happening around here. I should be happy about that. I need to go to Costco again, but I swore I wasn't going for 2 weeks since I spent so much last time (428). Work is the same, but I started the next class and I know the person who is teaching it and she really knows her behavior and that's good. This is an integral part to the whole process.

Traci - When you talk about the DOMS I just cringe. I may not get great results, but I rarely work to get myself into that kind of DOMS anymore. Fatigue yes, but that DOMS always spells trouble for me. Where is your hip hurting? I have discomfort with mine at night after a run, but I'm hoping that will subside as I increase my running again. New tires too? We need to get some new tires, but the funds have just not been there for that or anything else. That is what suck% about being in business for yourself.

Sandra - Some days my kicks leave much to be desired. I do like the 4ds KB leg workout. I'm going to stick with it for 2 more weeks. I felt worked after I did the HSC leg/cardio premix, but since I used lighter weights, there was only immediate burn and no lasting effects.

Jeanette - My DH is a channel flipper too. The only good thing is that when something is being recorded on the dvr we tell him you can't switch the channel. His watching tastes are so different than mine. GF is now XGF. She did get the surgery though. DS really has some serious issues with spending 20K to get thin when it's possible to diet and exercise and loose weight. I'm really surprised he feels so strongly about it, but I'm glad he does. I think that is one of the things that split them up was the obsession she has with instant gratification and spending etc. Oh well, better now than after tyeing the not.

Debra - Glad to hear you were out shopping and not in some verbal altercation with XDH. I'd spend his money too because it stinks not to have any:)

Christiane - Just stop by when you can. I can't imagine traveling so much. I guess you are used to it.

Kim - 2 Chin ups, way to go! I feel so accomplished when I whip out some chins, and a couple pull ups. My DS is still doing P90X. He has 2 weeks to go. He's been spotty on the workouts other than the upper body ones and doing core+ instead of ARX. He looks good though.

Laurie - Glad DD is doing so well with the track. Every time you mention that Kimberly S workout I think about getting it, but I have so many right now that I do so infrequently. They are so easy to buy, and so hard to use consistently.

Patricia - Snow again? Ugghh..... I guess you all are used to long winters and short summers.

TG - Hi

Nicole - How are you doing? Is everything settled with the appraisal?

I'm out of time. I have to get to work.

Tracy

Good morning everyone,
Just popping in quickly before working out. At this point I'm not sure what I'll do. I started the P90X+ maintenance rotation last week before leaving Luxembourg but I have not been very consistant with it. I missed 2 days of w/o...x( x( x( Next Tuesday I also have minor surgery; I have a very large vein in my thigh that's been bothering me for a while, so I'm getting it fixed. They told me I'll be a few days off my feet. So I might just takle some cardio and Yoga or core.
I worked in the garden yesterday...YAY!!!... but now the back is letting me know he doesn't like it...BOO!!!...x( I have a very long gardening season ahead and I love it so I guess I'll have to pace myself.
I'll try to ba back for some personals, but you know how I am. promises, promises, promises...:+
Anyway have a great day:+ :+ :+

Good Morning and good to "see" so many all ready today.

I was good last night and did not overeat. The person who took us out for dinner was going to the gym afterwards so thankfully we didn't end up ordering so much that we became ballooned whales.

I did the Pyramid LB down pre-mix last night. Boy, do I feel it in the hamstrings today. At first I didn't think it was that tough but once you got to the floor work holy cow! I also did 1/2hr cardio afterwards as had to work off the 3 chocholate bars I've had in 3 days (for charity so all for a good cause)

I've been at work for 1.5hr and still have not started work. Standing at a "real" watercooler with my Friday morning donut and coffee so I best go to work and get back to personals later.

Good morning,
Today was the standing work and stability ball abs from Butts & Guts. Love this one! Hopefully, they will be recovered for Sunday's bike ride. Will be cooking dinner for Mom, Dad and Grandma. Plan on helping DH with painting tomorrow.

Sandra, good workout for you. I think cycling makes your hamstrings tight, or at least mine are. You'd think I'd do more yoga to help improve that situation. You'd think. Enjoy your push/pull and step today. I haven't done step since Debra's. Think I'm having sympathy pains for her knee.

Traci, glad to see you back up. I miss you when you are gone. No, I'm not a stalker... What the heck did you do to your hip????????? We can't have you down and out with upper and lower problems. Really hoping that it's nothing, just a little strain that some time and heat/ice will help. LOL about the mentally excruciating staying on task for DH. Yep, I'm sure. But he does do a good job. I tend to start getting sloppy toward the end. The driving range wasn't open yesterday after work and I really, really need to do that AND more importantly get a lesson. So easy to get bad habits with golf, for me anyway. I figured out what I was doing wrong yesterday, but it took 3 holes and lots and lots of strokes to figure out one single thing. The elbow is fine though so that's good.

Tracy, so pleased the back is getting better and you can do more supine work. OK, now I know the story about DS's X-GF. So she did have the surgery. Glad your DS got out of the situation if those things bugged him. Wonder if she's lost weight.

Christiane, sorry about the back. Boy, that's a weak point for a lot of us. I have to really watch it on deadlifts, which I pushed earlier this weak and tweaked mine a tad. I just need to go really light on those or find a sub. Hope it doesn't hold up your gardening as it sounds like you really enjoy it. I need to get some yardwork done tomorrow too. Without Cathe, I would be much sorer after it. Nice to have the endurance to work all day.

Patricia, that Pyramid Lower is a good workout, isn't it? I tend to use my DB's for it more than switching the barbell. I need to buy some 25# DB's soon. I don't like the step ups on the high step with a heavy barbell. Would feel better with DB's. The floor work for that one is a killer too. The Pyramids are one of my favorite DVD's too. Glad you didn't overdo on the eating last night. Always feels better afterwards. I could take a lesson though. Hey, put down the donut!!! LOL!

Okay, will BBL,

Jeanette

Hi all,

OK ladies, put down the chocolate bars and other miscellaneous junk that it takes hours to work off:)!

Jeanette - XGF has lost 45 lbs since mid Feb. I would assume that she looks quite different, but I haven't seen her and DS doesn't seem to want to see her. If you think cycling makes for tight hamstrings, then you should go for a run. OMG, I feel I have to do yoga afterwards or I won't even be able to touch my toes. The running probably isn't so good for me, but I just love to go a couple of times a week and it's so much more time efficient than the biking.

Tracy

Good morning!

Push Pull Upper x2, with 6 rounds of pull/push ups inserted, is done. Then the lower body was begging for a rest, so instead of step I did 50mins of Shiva Rea's Yoga Shakti. Now I have a half hour to shower, dress myself and the toddler, throw together some kind of food to take with us (???), run to the post office (mail a card) and bank machine (get money for parking), and head out for a couple hours. I'll bbl to catch up with everyone.

Have a great day and a great weekend,
Sandra

Morning Coolers (I'll jump on the bandwagon too ;-) ),

Well I have not worked out yet, but plan on running 3.5m after work tonight. I'm hoping that the weather cooperates. If not I will jump on my TM, and maybe try out some of my new Barry workouts. :D Would like to try some of the lower body work from those.

Finally decided on my rotation. I'm planning on using the 4DS Premixes. So the weight workouts will consist of Back & Biceps, Lower Body Weights and Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. Since these workouts only run around 30 min, it will work well with my running.

Traci, Congrats on the new client:D, bummer on the hip. :( Yes they do keep the kids out late for these meets, just wish it had been warmer. Oh I think you would have stayed up until the time it was finished just by shivering. But maybe not, you may have slipped into hypothermia induced sleep and I wouldn't have known you were not really sleeping.

Tracy, It probably is good that you have nothing exciting going on right now. Lot less stress. I know what you mean on the workouts, I have had the Barry, and Amy Bento workouts for almost 2 weeks. And then Billy Banks just released a new set, they actually look good. But I am resisting the temptation to buy right now. :D Oh yes the running sure does tighten up the hamstrings. I always have to do some stretching afterwards.

Christiane, Sorry to hear about the back. I'm not much of a gardener. I blame it on my childhood trama of having to work in the veggie garden. Seemed like that is all we did as kids. :7 :7 But dang if all those veggies didn't taste great when the time came to eat them. :9

Patricia, LOL about eating chocolate for charity. I have to remember that when those GS cookies come to my door again. My niece up north still hasn't gotten them to me yet. Probably will receive those in May when I finally get a chance to see her. GS is charity isn't it. ;-)

Jeanette, Have you decided what you will be cooking for dinner yet? Nope no running for this girl, we didn't have any running sports at our little school. They have XCountry now. All I did was volleyball, basketball and softball. My brother e-mailed me to see if I wanted to play VB this summer. I told him yes, so will see how it goes with the knee.

Kim, WTG on doing 2 full unassisted chin-ups. Good luck to your DS with his science fair today. He must be super excited.

Debra, Oh your shopping sounds like lots of fun. Well I would think purse & shoe shopping would be a great time. :D And working our abs more is a sure sign that spring is here for sure. We have a lot mores skin showing in the summer than in the winter. :D I will be working my abs too. :D

Sandra, I made one of the recipes from that WW cookbook last night. I know it was in the Greek section and started with a P. I personally would make one change to it, but it was very good. It has spaghetti and ground sirloin in it. The amount of white sauce was way too much. I think that the amount of milk and eggs and corn starch could be cut in half.

Have a great day!

Laurie

Well, home from work early today. Daycare called to come and p/u DS as they're closing due to weather. We're having a mix of snow, sleet, and ice rain here.

Today is cardio day and might give Amy's ITR another try. Hoping to do it in the afternoon since I'm home - depends how clingy DS is. I kicked him in the head one time when I didn't know he was so close to me during a w/o so I've learned not to try and do it when he is awake.:-( He is definetly a Momma's boy and doesn't let me get too far away from him even when home.

Traci - congrats on the client. Hope that hip gets better quick. I have not tried GS legs yet so I'll consider myself warned.

Christiane - I hate gardening for the very reason it is H*LL on my back (plus I hate getting my hands dirty:) ) Cudos to those that love it.

Time to go back and read some more posting to get all you girls straight. :p

I did PUB which was my first Cathe dvd since I finished the X. WOW< I was able to up almost all the weights! I lifted more than Cathe on everything except biceps which I did the same. And I did about half the pikes! I think my abs were strong enough to do more but my arms were too fried. I've done this workout a million times so it was very interesting to do it again after the X and see the difference. I'm very pleased!

Debra- I'm just doing a combination of running (3 days)and Cathe's weight workouts (1 leg/2 upper) for the next 8 weeks till my half marathon. I also have all those new Eoin Finn dvds to try out. Sounds like you and dd had a fun shopping trip!

Nicole- The running is going really well. I'm very happy with my pace especially after not running hardly at all while doing P90X.

Laurie- What an incredible time, you dd deserves to be escatic with that time! I've followed Hal Higdon's programs in the past and have had good luck with them. Maybe one day we should met somewhere for a race ;) where abouts do you live?? I'm a Survivor fan too!

Jeanette- Hope you had a better sleep last night. The golf lessons sound like they would be fun! I have done one full marathon and two half marathons before. DS was going to do a spring hockey league but DH didn't get him signed up in time and it's all full. He's doing track at school and swimming lessons on Saturday mornings. He plans to do football but doesn't start until May and hockey camps probably in August.

Tracy That's great that your ds is almost finished P90X! I'm sure you're core is looking very tone!

Christiane- Glad to see you peek in. Take care of that back!

Patricia- Didn't you know that chocolate bars bought for charity have no calories? You're having snow in Ontario and Sandra is in Alberta but here in Winnipeg we're having beautiful spring weather!
That PLB is a toughie! Those leg presses feel like they will never end!

Traci Another new client! How many do you have now?? Ouch on the hip flexors! What are you doing to yourself?

Sandra- What a workout you had this morning!

Kim

Hello again,
Peeking in again before DH comes back home. Today I did LIC cardio blast but on the floor (no step) using as much space as possible. THen I did Rodney Yee Yoga for the core. After this I'll do Classic Stretches for the back. I just came back from working a few hours in the garden. Gosh I have soooo much work...;( ;( ;( It will take me a few weeks to get it going. On to some personals ;-)

Traci~~ Congratulations on signing a new client. And what a bummer for your hip. Again aren't we a sorry bunch of injured. But I guess it's part of the game. If we didn't exercise we'd be having other kind of problems...obesity, poor bone density, heart problems... so it's a trade-off;-)

Tracy~~ So you too, the back is an issue...x( We just have to find what works for our bodies and share with all what works and what doesn't...:+ Speaking of Costco I need to go to this weekend x( Now DS has to pay for his living here and I'm afraid he doesn't eat too good. So I'll go buy him some slamon and chicken filets, freeze them in individual portions and so he has "good stuff" when we are gone. As for traveling I'm not sure you ever get used to travel that much. DH travels so much more and still doesn't like it. Now if we had our private jet...:9 :9 :9 I agree with you that running makes your hamstring so tight. I always feel them the next day.

Patricia~~ I never had a chance to welcome you to our group. This is a great bunch of ladies. I feel they are all my friends although I never met any of them...yet as I plan to go to next year's retreat hopefully:+ :+ :+ Pyramid LB is a real killer for sure. In fact the whole serie is the one that gives me the most DOMS. When I do the chest portion do I feel my chest for a few days or not...x( Now what are you talking about...your Friday am donught???}(

Jeanette~~ Such a good person cooking for Mom, Dad and Grandma...;-) As for your worries yesterday, no nothing is wrong with us, just a lot going on which I'll be able to explain soon.

Sandra~~ Good w/o. I haven't done that Shiva's w/o yet. Actually so far I did only one. I should visit with her soon;)

Laurie~~ Sounds like a good rotation. I like the 4DS w/o and by doing the premixes, you still get in some good strenght w/o and that leaves you time for your running. As for my garden it's not a veggie one. Boy oh boy we have so many deer here it would not stand a chance. I had a veggie garden in Buffalo that was caged and we did enjoy them. Here the yard is too big, so we have roses (over 100) and hundreds of perenials. I do like working in it. I just do what I can each day.

Kim~~ Congratulations on your new found strenght. I am sure you were strong before, but isn't true how the X makes us stronger? Love it...:p

Well that's all for now. I'll go do a few stretches with Classic Stretches. She kind of annoys me but her stretches are good:+

Well...It is 6 pm my time and I am just now getting by to say hello to you guys! Let's see..went to class this morning, took the dog to the groomer as she was very stinky (probably from all the love she got last weekend!), then went to the grocery store and ran a few other errands, then time to pick up the diva, then we went to the farmer's market and got some lettuce and herbs to plant as well as some fruits and veggies to eat for next week, then got home, took a 20 minute nap, then planted all of my healthy things, then I had to chase the dog around the neighborhood, and now I am having a little cocktail and waiting for my man to bring me some dinner!! Actually before he shows up, I really have to take a shower as I am as stinky as the dog after digging in the dirt for a couple of hours. Notice, too, that my workout didn't get done today....but I have truly been busy except for that 20 minute nap...That is my rationalization for today, anyway!!

Sorry I don't have time to catch up with everyone right now...I may not be able to tomorrow either, since we have another full day planned, but I should be around on Sunday.

Just a couple of personals.....

Traci..
My word, woman!! Are you falling apart at the seams?? Please take care of that hip! Do you think you have pulled something or another, or is it just major DOMS??? And why are you doing SBT?? Is your shoulder able to handle that? I know you will be careful, but I worry! Since I know you have a lot more information at your fingertips than I have, the only thing I am going to say is please try to fit some yoga into your schedule. I know it has really made such a difference for me in my hamstrings, hips, and glutes....Eoin was brought to this Earth to help us old women survive! Take it easy on yourself and don't try to do too much too soon. I just couldn't help myself at the shoe store...Oh, well....I can't take it with me right?? And who knows what kind of Russian 'ho my XDH would spend it on...lol!! Thanks for the links to the 12" penis...but did you notice while you were here that I am pretty short?? Those kind of things don't work well for me...LOL! I haven't taken an actual 'break' from here...I always post about myself even if I don't have time to catch up personally with everyone else...I guess that just shows how self absorbed I am!

Laurie...
Are you running for any reason in particular, or just because you enjoy it?? I mean, are you training for something? It sounds like you have a good plan with the 4DS premixes...I think the weight work with that series is good as it is different from other Cathe weight work. Are those DD's of yours going to keep you running this weekend?? Track meets and such??

Patricia...
Snow???? Yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sandra...
Well, aren't you the busy bee too!! I am proud of you for posting late at night...it seems you are turning into Jeanette!! Hammies still tight from GS?? I told you guys last week!! That one about KILLED me! If you had been here yesterday I promise I would have bought you a really nice and waaaaay too expensive purse too!! Heck, it's only money, right??? Shhhhh....don't tell XDH! Do you have a busy weekend coming up with the girls?? Hope you guys are not getting the snow that seems to be around up there!

Jeanette...
The tulip trees only flower in early spring...but they are full of leaves the rest of the summer. Do you guys have dogwoods there?? That is the other tree that I need to plant...They are actually the state flower. Who knew?? Keep that DH rolling on his projects...You just need to keep telling him what a wonderful job he is doing...LOL! Have fun with the family tonight. Hope Grandma is doing well. Knee is feeling okay...thanks for asking...I will give Julia some hugs whenever I see he again...she is off with the fundamentalists...and has been gone for hours...I hope they aren't baptizing her or anything...LOL! Good luck on the golfing..will you get some in this weekend?? Or just riding in prep for your upcoming event?? Poor woman...You are still battling the sinus stuff, hunh?? Do you need to see a doctor? I know that must be a novel idea, but maybe there is something else going on since this has been a problem for a while now. Take care of yourself! You should she Polly...she got a haircut today and looks so cute!

Waving to Tracy, Kim, Christianne (hope every thing is okay with you and yours!), Lea, Nicole, Carol, Wendy, Teddygirl...and whoever else may be lurking about!!

<<Eoin was brought to this Earth to help us old women survive!>>>
OMG That struck me as hysterical! }( :+ }( :+ }( :+

Got my w/o in early today and just finished dinner. Might do Ssex cardio core later though. Can't decide if I want to take tomorrow off or doe Muscle Max.

Laurie - already got GS cookies up here. MY DH keeps buying them from someone at work. I only like the vanilla ones. At least having them at work you can share and not end up eating the whole box;-)

Tracy - are you the Drill Sargeant in this group? It seems the more you try to eat clean the more temptation is put your way:p Everything in moderation

Sandra - sounds like you have a full day ahead of you. Cudos for getting you w/o in. I've only done PP once and don't remember much from it. I hear a lot of good things about it on the boards.

Kim - congrats on the ^ in strength. I guess you're looking forward to STS also?

Jeannette - hope dinner went well for the family. I'm lucky my DH cooks generally and especially when we have company. If I had my way I'd just eat cereal for dinner. :p Well, can't do that anymore with a little one in the house;-)

Okay, time to give the little munchkin a bath.

I sent an email to customer service as it's been 3 weeks and I haven't received my slanted risers or high topper yet. Their response was that the slanted risers are on backorder so it hasn't even shipped yet. I was kind of annoyed, shouldn't they have let me know that it wasn't in stock so I wasn't waiting for it?? Guess it won't be here for awhile yet. Maybe they can ship it with STS. Kim

Me too, Traci! He needs to post that on his website!!

Just dropping in to say hello. Hopefully I can catch up with you all in another bedtime post. We're heading out for dinner at an Indian restaurant with some friends in a few minutes.

Have a nice evening,
Sandra

Hi all,

I tried Amy's Hi/Lo knockout. I got through the first three combos and blasts, then my mind was just fried with the choreography. I just didn't feel like putting in the effort and learning that last choreography. It's a pretty fun workout. The blasts are interesting and unique. Then I did the core work on that and I won't be doing that again. It's not back friendly. I finished with Tone and realized that my legs were fatigued from HSC and all of those darn step ups etc. I'm way more tired than I should be. Maybe I didn't eat enough yesterday.

Traci - I hope you are not double injured. Please be careful; it is not worth it. Injuries are like weight; easy to get and hard to get rid of.

Debra - Will we get to see pictures of the new shoes and bags? You would probably get along great with my Mom. She loves handbags and probably has as many bags as you have shoes.

Jeanette - A ride or a run is definitely not friendly the day after a leg workout, but I do think that is the only way to really build strength and endurance. I did legs the day after my run this week and it almost killed me. Many of Cathe's rotations put in legs and then a run the next day or a run and then legs the next day.

I guess I'd better go finish dinner.

S&H Triceps and Core Max

Sorry I didn't get back today all, I was watching my 11 month old niece. She is a doll and so easy to watch but it doesn't leave much time for the computer:(

The time with my sister was great and relaxing. I got a facial and a massage and enjoyed a Starbuck's iced coffee everyday:D I was glad I was able to see her and the kids because I don't want them to forget their Auntie:)

I forgot to tell you all that the appraisal didn't go through after all of the hard work:( They said the wood stove didn't count as a permanent heat source. In the end it worked out well because I talked to a mortgage broker and he suggested we stay with the low rate we have on the first. We wanted to add in the equity line but in the end it would have been a mistake. At least the Spring cleaning is done:p

Off to finish dinner,

Nicole

Just lost a really long post. Tired and ticked off. Going to bed now. Can't see straight anymore. I'll try again tomorrow.
