I can hear the rain on the window pane. I am so disappointed because I was hoping for some real snow this time. But it's only 9 in the morning and it's already rain in Brooklyn. What's it like in other parts of NYC, the Northeast, and the rest of the country?
I didn't realize you were in Westchester, Debbie. I guess a lot of the partners at my firm won't be coming in today because many of them live in Westchester. I'd better get in to the office to hold down the fort! I was just really hoping for some nice big white fluffy snow flakes instead of more rain and slush. Oh well.
yuppers Nancy! My hubby is already downtown at his firm. Do you work downtown? He is not far from Rockefeller Center. Some people are starting to trickle in.
Debbie, my office is at 34th Street. So your hubby was able to make it in? Did he have to drive to Metronorth? I think people who have to drive to the train will have some problems. If you can walk to the train though, I guess you're okay.
(I'm running late today but it has nothing to do with the weather. I have awful cramps and a headache and I'm waiting for them to subside before I get going.)
Nancy, Metro North is just a very short walk from our house, so it is not too bad. He got on the 8:12 train and got in to the office about an hour later. The ride itself is about 40 min. The trains seem to be running fine. He said they were very quiet, though
We have about 3 inches so far in NH - supposed to get 6-12" by 5:00 so it's coming down fast, it's so pretty! Classes are cancelled today, yahoo!! I love this weather when I have no place to be.
Hopefully it will stay cold and we'll have a white christmas
Debbie, I love Westchester. If I had to move to the burbs, that's where I would go. I got married in Chappaqua not because I had any connection with Westchester, but just because it was so pretty up there.
Looks like it's another big nothing here in the city again--yet another slushy mess. I'm home sick and watching it out my window. Every time it snows here, I wish I was back in western NJ--I'd go for a walk in the woods with one of my friends when it snowed and it was always just gorgeous and peaceful. No ankle-deep puddles of black slush!
