You are not weird. I am a major germaphobe when it comes to gyms. There were several cases of staph at a club I belonged to. Gyms are like giant Petri dishes, where germs party and thrive, IMO. Yuck.

Because I have 6 kiddos and homeschool, so if I wanna workout, it's gotta be a home thing;).

Option #1 seemed like the next closest choice.

I chose #1 also..It is easier to workout at home and I can get a better variety. I can do it as my schedule permits. I also find it cheaper and Cathe trains me alot better than the gym I used to go to.

My workout room is better than any gym could possibly be (for me). I don't do machines, only free weights, step and treadmill, so what I have at home is all that I need.

Thanks, Runningal for agreeing and not thinking I'm paranoid..

Yeah, i've heard about staph and MRSA running rampant there...ACK!

For me, the time factor is HUGE. With two kids, a DH which sometimes is like a kid and a house to manage, I don't have an extra 40 minutes to drive to and from the gym. (20 there, 20 back). Also, I used to get up at 4:00 AM and workout and most gyms don't open until 5:00 or later. Now, since I work nightshift I workout from 8-9:30 PM and some gyms close at 9:00 pm or earlier on the weekends so that would be out.

I get a MUCH more efficient workout at home.. in the city you have big fancy (expensive) gyms where everyone is working hard and it's the greatest.. but where I live now in the small time, the little small town gyms are not worth my time anymore..
the music is embarrassing, the poeple are too.. falling aslepp on the machines!
I workout at home and its tons more efficient for me!
