The Pain, The Pain!!!

Due to complications, I finally received Pyramids DVD yesterday. I was so looking forward to this workout. I did upper body (up only bar the biceps routine!) plus the abs. I noticed while doing the routine how “hard” it was and that I was using lighter weights that I thought I would. The time just flew by…before you know it it was over. A job well done. Though I knew I’d worked hard I didn’t expect the extreme soreness that I felt this morning (and getting worse as I write this!). I’m sore in places I didn’t know I had places. Everything aches. Ouch! Boy do I hurt (in a good way!). I can’t believe how much that workout kicked my (slightly toned butt!). Ouch I’m hurting…someone, please…tell Cathe, she’s an animal in the gym!

I know what you mean. My hamstrings are still very tight from last weeks PLB workout and I only did the Up portion so I could focus on heavier weights. It amazes me every time how strong Cathe is. She is like a machine and she makes it look so effortless when I am struggling and thinking to myself "You want how many more?". She definitely raises the bar for me and what I expect out of myself. Who needs a personal trainer when we have Cathe to work our assets into shape. I keep telling my husband he needs to give at least Slow & Heavy a try, but he is one of those guys who gets motivated when in at the gym. To each their own. I'll take Cathe anyday.

I love it! I felt the same way last week, but I just did the entire workout, not just up. Needless to say that picking up my son the next day, not an option. Heck, picking up just about anything the next day, even my coffee cup in the morning wasn't that much of an option either. But I did it a second time, and guess what, I wasn't as sore the next day. Of course while I was doing it I thought my chest muscles where going to expload! That was my most sore spot, obviously. But, now I'm not sore and it's all good. It will get better. Isn't that just an awesome workout?!

I learned after the first time around ot take it easy. But my biceps hurt for almost a week! DH did the tape for the first time last week and wouldn't listen to me...same thing!

I LOVE the Pyramids!! Does anyone else think that the 10-reps, mid-weight set is the hardest? Especially on the way back down. It kills me....and I love it!!

So far, Pyramids is my favourite! I love it (and the pain!)...i find the time just goes. I will rotate this into my weight training schedule and see where it takes me.

LOVE the Pyramids. They have helped both my strength (working up) and my endurance (working down). My back, especially, is toned. I now have lats where there used to be only skin and bone!:) (I think my healthier eating habits have helped too.) Have you tried PLB yet? You'll love that too.

Enjoy!
