The heart said Drill Max, everything else said...RU Nuts?!

Popped in DM today, and didn't get past the warmup, so I shifted gears and did a 5 mile walk/run interval, has that ever happened to any of you where the rest of you just says no to what was originally planned?

it happens more than I'd like to admit. Normally, after I do my full Cathe rotation/collection then I get burnt and then the adjustments hit.

I had full intentions of some cardio after Guts & Butts, but I forget how long that dvd is. I stood there with my hands on my hips thinking well maybe just a little of Kick Max. But the legs weren't working so well. :p

Jerry,
I always say if I can make it pass Drill 3, I am well on my way. I did Drill Max 2 Saturday ago and was I able to get through it intact. However I wasn't so lucky today with High Step Challenge. 45 minutes into the workout and I was done.

I kept asking myself "Surely this isn't harder than Drill Max?" Today it was.

How about this one? I've gotten up, gotten dressed, gone to the DVD player, hit play for a Cathe workout and decided, "Man, I'm too tired for this!" and gone back to bed with my workout clothes still on. (Did manage to take off the shoes, though.)

Luckily that doesn't happen very often. :)

But yes, I've done the exact same thing--looked at my selection, just wasn't in the mood for it, and totally shifted gears. Sometimes that is because my body is tired; other times because my MIND is tired and there's no way it can do a complicated step routine, etc., so on those days, I go to Plan B.

Oh it sure has! Good for you for moving on to something else. :D

I have those days where the planned work out just doesn't happen, so plan B, C or D
come in to play. Funny it usually happens with drill max too, or Imax3 they have a
yikes factor for me some days!!

Yesterday I was all over the place but it did work well as a cross training day.

I did a walk as well 6 km, later I did the cardio ramp w/o that came with the slanted risers,
and then did my first kettle bell w/o with a moderate dumb bell.

I have gone back to bed with work out clothes on too!!! LOL!!!!!
Some days are just like that!!

Take care all, Bri

This happens to me more than I would like to admit. I usually have have a plan A, a plan B or even a plan C. I listen to what my body and spirit are telling me and let that guide any changes to my planned workouts. Doing it this way never fails me.

The fact that I didn't feel guilty later tells me I did the right thing! Somedays you just don't have it, and it's not worth trying to find it!

I listen to what my body says too, but if I've had a bad day at work - I reach for one of her kickboxing dvds!

A day behind you Jerry but I can relate today!!! I attempted just the total body pre-mix from DrillMax today & it wasn't happening!! I madeit through but not one of my better wo's! I haven't slept good the past few nights - stress. Maybe tomorrow I'll be back on my game.
