The benefits of previewing a workout

Tonight, I did Athletic Step after only doing it once at least one year ago WITHOUT a preview.
It was a blessing I got the warm up, first and second combos down due to the repitition and break down of each. The third one, I was ready to give up completely so I sat down thinking this was BAD idea. So, after Cathe broke down the routine, I decided to give it go after she put it together. I was still rusty.
The second combo where you repeat then hold one leg down then do the five-leg move, I did get that b/c it was a slower, larger fast foot shuffle.

So, the benefits are more confidence, safer so you don't trip and fall, and your intensity increases plus it keeps the fun factor in it.

After surviving AS, I decided to preview Step Moves mainly out of fear. The good news is that Cathe uses the same teaching pattern for both workouts. I will preview this one at least once more so that I feel safe and I can enjoy it.

I hear you!

I remember being frustrated with both videos at first. It's hard when you have a go-to video (mine at the time was Body Max 2) where you know the choreography. I have to say though Step Moves is one of my favorite pick me up workouts now.

I had to give myself permission to quit mid-DVD and switch to another workout to finish out my sessions. I did this a couple of times and finally "got it." Now I find myself doing some moves at work without thinking about it, especially the straddle ball change. I work on my feet at a library and find myself daydreaming about step when I'm organizing books. Strange, I know.

You are right Jen! I never used to preview step, but now that I have more complex choreo workouts, I do :)

Sometimes I put on a step workout while me and Bella are playing, that way she can run around and dance to it, while I study the moves :)

It's safer to preview. I tripped and sprained my foot on a workout, when I first did it a few years earlier I didnt preview, so Step Blast haunts me from that. During the challenge too.
Princess Bella dancing to Cathe, that is a good start.
