The average age on this board is 41, wow....

On thing I've noticed is, that when I started going to the gym at the age of 21, most of the members there were the same age. And they stayed my age for the last 20 years.

The demographics of exercise have changed. Today's younger crowd doesn't seem to be into the "buff & cut" look (I know, that phrase is out of date too, but I don't know today's lingo for being fit). The 20s group likes their curves. It's the "more mature" demo that appears to fret more about staying below 18% bodyfat. ;)

Above Average

Catherine, JJ and Melissa - Think of it as being above average! :p :D

I'm above average, too.
Me three, or four... whichever it is.... :p ;) I really thought it would bother me (turning 50!!! that is), but it's not so bad, and I feel so darn blessed to be alive & healthy!!! :D

I was flippin' through tv yesterday and I was watchin' "The Girls Next Door." And Hugh's ex girlfriend was re-doing the gym. Oh she didn't like The STep too much of "kids colors" anyway, the last shot had the women working out. And they were "cut" either just more curvier. I never noticed that before until you pointed that out. Now that is interesting.

I'm far below the curve

I would like to be cut. I don't know when and if that is possible though. :eek:And if my body was even close to in the 20% body fat range I would faint in surprise.

I don't know why more women my age didn't really get hooked on the step. I took a class when I was a teenager and thought it was great.
