On thing I've noticed is, that when I started going to the gym at the age of 21, most of the members there were the same age. And they stayed my age for the last 20 years.
The demographics of exercise have changed. Today's younger crowd doesn't seem to be into the "buff & cut" look (I know, that phrase is out of date too, but I don't know today's lingo for being fit). The 20s group likes their curves. It's the "more mature" demo that appears to fret more about staying below 18% bodyfat.
The Marilyn Monroe type?
