I do know all of your support helped me ALOT. Especially the last 3 miles or so when I knew you were pulling for me. I never really like the first 3 miles of this marathon, it's all downhill and no matter how slow you go it trashes the quads to some degree. The weather was so in our favor...cloudy and cold but only a bit of rain about mile 24. I did forget about the 2 creeks though. About mile 5 and 7, you cannot avoid getting your feet wet and sloshing for a bit after!! I met up with a very nice man from a town not far from here. It was his 2nd marathon and we ran the last 19 miles together. I usually run marathons alone so the company was good. And I know we helped each other to the finish. Always a good feeling...
...I finished in 4:17, so a bit longer than I had anticipated, but was very happy to get 1st in my age division (45-49). I am feeling it in my quads as I type! I imagine tomorrow they will be screaming!!! I am thinking a good long stretch tomorrow will be exactly what I need!!! Hope all of your New Years started as well as mine...
