Cathe,

You have suggested to me about an 8 month rotation and adhering to a Paleo Diet. I'm the person at age 60 that wants to body build.

My Trouble: I have GERD, a digestive problem big time. The struggle with GERD is amazingly hard and very confusing on what to do. I can't tell you how much of a struggle of having GERD symptoms I've had to deal with. I truly didn't know what I was going to do about my life. I know I couldn't stand it to much longer and was thinking maybe an operation to rebuild the esophagus might help. But there is no guarantees. My doctor and I are corresponding closely and she always recommends pills which my body can't tolerate. It only makes things worse. Today I told her about the Paleo Diet and my rotation plan you set up for me. Haven't heard from her yet, but I'm sure I will very soon. It could only be good.

Results: I told my doctor since I've been on the Paleo Diet and a rotation for exercising, how my GERD symptoms are diminishing. Can sleep on my side now. Don't have to take pills that my body won't take anyway. I'm losing weight! Feel like I'm on top of the world. Have lots and lots of energy. My skin is soft and smooth, the skin tags are going away. My outlook on life is wonderful! I can't wait to get up in the mornings to see what the day will bring me.

Thank You: From the bottom of my soul, I'd say heart, but I can't express enough how much you helped my way of life for the better. I owe you big time and don't know how to repay you. I will spread the word however I can in hopes people will get the same results as me. (hugs) to you for as long as I live. Thank you so much.

Off to do my exercises,

Janie

Wow, Janie! That is so awesome! Our bodies can truly heal themselves if given the right fuel - & you are proof positive!

Janie,
This is a wonderful post! I'm not familiar with the Paleo Diet, so I started to look into it...
Heck, it looks so easy even a caveman can do it!
Are you following a specific book? If you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to hear about it!

Janie, that is wonderful! I'm so happy for you. You have to be flying high! Funny, this morn I just read an article (Actually listened to a video) on acid reflux and also Gerd and they were saying an apple before bedtime will take care of symtoms. (Not sure it will but it sure won't hurt you!) Again, YAH!!!!!

Nancy, There are several books out there, but I like the one from Loren Cordain, because his credentials are better looking to me. Also in your search engine put "Paleodiet foods" and up will come a great list of foods that you can follow right away. The only thing wrong with this is at the top part they say you can have beans (which is a legume) but you can not have legumes. There are also very important tips to consider in the book about asking your doctor if you can go on this and taking extra vitamins. I guess this diet is very restricted for some people, but if it helps my GERD like it's doing, then that's OK by me. I still have reactions to certain foods, but it is so much better and I'm learning still which foods not to eat. Luckily there is a bounty of foods out there even in your own super market. Happy health.

Debbie, Thank you so much. Yes, apples are wonderful! Never thought of eating one before bed. Thank you for the information.

Thanks for getting back to me Janie! My mother suffers horribly from GERD and feels like a slave to the medications. I think she could really benefit from this and will be willing to talk to her doctor about it. Her diet is abysmal, and I know she'd clean it up if she could be convinced that it would ease her GERD! Thanx again!
