Makes sense now, Nancy. DH looked at your pics and said you were in New Jersey. I'm geographically challenged.

We live just a few blocks from the promenade, which has a similar view. The neighborhood is called Brooklyn Heights. I don't know much about the rest of Brooklyn, because I never seem to have the occasion to go there.

Looks like a lovely restaurant in Weehawken!

I hear many good things about the new "Manhattan" - Brooklyn Heights. Is it just on the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge, or no? I need to come visit the area soon. We spend a decent amount of time in Manhattan. Matter of fact, I wish I could turn back the hands of time and live there as a youngster (knowing what I know now, of course). I may have to retire to Manhattan (lol). At least a container of milk is a hop, skip and a jump. I may not be able to drive and need a container of milk desperately!!!! (Or a new pair of workout sneakers)

Yes, Nancy, we're right next to the Brooklyn Bridge. It is really cool not having to own a car. The subway access is amazing. We have the 2,3,4,5,N,R,M,A & C. And there's a car rental place about a block away when we need a car. I guess you can tell, I'm really in love with my neighborhood! Of course if I were looking to buy now, no way could I afford it.

Yes, prices on real estate in your neighborhood have skyrocketed recently (actually, all over New York). I was fortunate and bought years ago. I couldn't afford my house today.
