Hurricane Katrina

Hi girls. Good to see you all.

We are in Florida and got hit by Hurricane Katrina. I have been couped up with my kiddies for 4 days! :p

God is good! We did not have any damage at all. We live close to the hurricane's entry point and had lots of wind and rain. Our electricity went kaput for about 14 hours but came back in the early morning hours. Praise God for that! It was HOT!

Everything is as good as it can be considering the fallen trees, lack of working traffic lights and flooding in other parts.

I thank God for sparing us.:*

RE: Hurricane Katrina

Wow! I don't even know what to say. I am thankful you and your kids are safe and damage free. I simply can't imagine surviving a hurricane. God bless you and keep you!

RE: Hurricane Katrina

Thank you.:D

I told dh I wanted to move in about 5 years and to start planning his career to fit that need:p. My children would not survive-emotionally-a hurricane that would destroy their home. Now, THAT, worries me!;(

Can you imagine!!!

RE: Hurricane Katrina

Praise the Lord for sure!! That's awesome! I'm glad you're unharmed!

RE: Praise the Lord Runathon!!!!!

Glad you are all doing fine (as fine as fine can be under the circumstances):) :) . Sometimes it just doesn't seem real - we had a sunny, nice, day here in WI as the hurricane was hitting, but we continually watched the news station to get updates and pray for those down south. Keep us posted!!

Emy, hugs going out to you as well. Don't stress over the workouts, you have enough going on right now...although sometimes it's somewhat of a pick me up just do something a little active during the day. (like chasing your 2 year old isn't active right??). ;-) ;-) . I was doing Cathe's August rotation this month, but went camping which through things off and LIFE is currently getting in the way. I do a P90X strength tape about once per week or two mixed in with her current rotation. I was getting a bit burned out on the P90X after doing it for almost 1 year and 4 months. Needed a fun change.

Mel..I'm just trying to get a chance now to listen to the Joyce Meier CD's....finally!!!! Thanks a bunch.

RE: Praise the Lord Runathon!!!!!

Hey Briee, Mel, are you talking about Joyce Meyer?

I loves her! I have some of her tapes. She is great.

You know, I bought hubby P90X as a gift when it came out (as a matter of fact, I have an autographed by Tony copy) and have never used it and neither has my hubby! lx(

I just can't get myself to lock into a rotation that long with just one instructor when I have so many awesome workouts calling my name!:p To name a few: Cathe, Firm, SS, WHFN, Rebounding, etc.

Briee, I was wondering where you had gone. Glad to know you are back from camping. Enjoy your "getting back to life" time.:p

RE: Praise the Lord Runathon!!!!!

I love Joyce Meyer too! She is from the St. Louis area. :)

You have never used your P90X tapes!!!! What keeps you from them? I like the workouts, but I don't know how Briee did them for over a year.

Take care ladies!

Autumn, I guess it is because they look so intimidating and I don't particularly care for push-ups? :p

Besides that, I have so many others that grab my attention. You know what? We haven't even opened up the binder that came with P90X! Wow! The thing cost me $180 with shipping. Sheesh!

However, they have been on my mind lately as I know they are killer workouts. I am doing a Cathe rotation right now so I can't really get into them but I will be eyeballing them for the next rotation (not exclusively) if Cathe's rotation this month does not call my attention. Oh, and I have the New DVDS coming tomorrow!!!! See what I mean? So many great workouts, so little time!!!}( :7

Did you gals get them? If so, let me know what you think.

I am scheduled to do Lowmax today and run 30 minutes tomorrow. I will, of course, add one or two of the workouts tomorrow also, and Saturday, and Sunday...!:p

~~See what I mean? So many great workouts, so little time!!!~~

Yep, I hear ya! I haven't touched the P90X workouts in about 9 months because of all the my other options. They do look intimidating, but you could do them... just modify if you have to... or do 1, 2, 3, or whatever number of reps.

I haven't received the new DVDs yet!! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

RE: Praise the Lord Runathon!!!!!

Okay....you guys are pathetic }( }( }( I can't imagine having the P90X and NOT DOING THEM!!!! Your only excuse is that a hurricane has struck!!!!! I lived, ate and breathed P90X, I slept with those DVD's, showered with them, took them shopping at Walmart, tucked them in bed each night with a kiss and an "I LOVE YOU....see you in the morning".

BUT alas....I have grown weary of P90X land (at least doing them every day). Lately I've had this craving for High Step Challenge...must be the music, cause I know it's not the push ups
:7 :7 that keep me coming back.

AND...it has finally happened. My dd was with me in Lacrosse garage saling and "MC sports" was calling for some odd reason and my dd said...it's okay mom, go ahead and look quick...I'll stay in the car. There, (I'm sure with my name somewhere on it) was the most beautiful exercise apparatus I've ever laid eyes on. I've been checking out smith machines (for heavy squats), but have come to realize you can cheat a little with these as they "guide" the bar up and down. THIS was a "cage". Has the squat bar built in and a catch bar to "catch the bar" in case you crash. AND (and this is an equally important part) there is a GRAND pullup bar complete with various hand positions - kind of like one of those curved weight bars. OH IT'S SO GLORIOUS. and almost half off. Better get out that P90X chest and back DVD again!!

Briee (It was really all Bethany's fault.....she let me go in...that evil daughter.}( }( )
