Tell me about your favorite Soy Milk

I hear so many of you write about delicious soy milk. What are your favorite brands? Who makes a really good vanilla? I never really gave soy milk a fair chance...I had it so very long ago and didn't care for the brand I bought. Any recommendations would be appreciated.:)

I second the 8th continent.
And LOVE that they've finally come out with FAT FREE regular and vanilla. I'm hoping FF chocolate is next.:9

I like Silk and So Nice, but I'm in Canada so I'm not sure if you get what we get. For instance, we don't get any type of "light" soy milk. At least not that I've been able to find. I've never seen 8th Continent. Perhaps I should look at a Health Food store instead of the grocery store. Another thing on the list for the weekend:)

Shelley,

I've had Silk (but never seen So Nice here), and think it's good too. Just don't like the higher fat, if I can get as good or better taste and less fat and calories. I wonder why Silk doesn't carry the light milk....?

Can I ask how much fat/calories? I always see that at Costco, but have never tried it. Now I'm tempted.....

Kathy,
Is 8th continent the brand of light Vanilla Soy Milk you use in Steel Oats with Cinnamon and sugar free syrup to make it taste like an oatmeal cookie?? If it is....would you share how much you use of each for the recipe for those of us (uh...like ME) who are "very challenged" in the kitchen;-) and haven't turned the stove on in a very long time?:) DH doesn't even think I know where the stove is...LOL.

PS. Do you think I could possibly make it in the microwave or tiny crockpot? ...hmmm...

My favorite but, it's the full fat variety is Vitasoy's vanilla. I like it cold with a sprinkle of nutmeg. This I use as a substitute for eggnog, it's soooo yummy. Vitasoy's got 120 calories and 4g of fat per cup. Silk has got 100 calories and 3.5g of fat per cup. Vitasoy also has a lower fat variety that's pretty yummy too.
You all have posted some on here I have never seen I'm going to have to keep my eyes open to try something new!

Another vote here for Silk Vanilla. Love the stuff especially the expiration date!!! I used the regular silk for things like mashed potatoes when I don't want vanilla flavoring...:)...Carole

Here's another vote for Silk Light or Regular is fine, even Walmart makes its own brand that is a lot cheaper, organic, and tastes pretty much the same. I've had 8th Continent and it's also very good, except that the Light has Splenda in it, so if you try to avoid Splenda then just be forwarned. It's delicious though! I drank it once before I read the label:p

My favorite is Vitasoy Enriched Vanilla (Regular; the light is too watery), but I drink lots of it so I buy Silk's Regular Vanilla at Costco cause it's cheaper. By the way, Almond Dream Enriched Vanilla is sooooooo yummy! But I buy it every once in awhile to treat myself. It's not soymilk (it's "almond milk" or something like that), so it doesn't have the isoflavones of soymilk.

I've been purchasing Westsoy, Lite Vanilla for years. I love it on my cereal.

I like Silk Enhanced (and sometimes silk unsweetened).

Watch out for vanilla soy milks, though. Some of them have a rather high carb count (because of added sweeteners).
