Tapes for bad knees

Hi Cathe,
I am new to your site and would like to incorporate new exercise videos to my routine. I have been working out for over 15 years. I do all The Firm tapes and from their website I have heard great things about your tapes. My concern is that my knees hurt when I do the typical step aerobics, running or any extended amount of high impact aerobics. Do you have any tapes that are high intensity (aerobic) and will address my "weak knees"?

Hi Beachie! Nice to have you with us. That's so wonderful that you have been working out for fifteen years :)!

Most of my tapes involve a certain amount of impact. What most people do is simply take the jump out of all of the airborn moves and do the move with their feet grounded on the step. There will be times that this will not work and an entire new move will need to be put in its place, but for the most part you can modify without changing the move. Tapes to stay away from are Intervalmax, Maximum Intensity Cardio, and Circuit Max. These have too much impact to modify. The best suggestion that I can make is to read reviews of my videos on www.videofitness.com and see what others say about the workouts. Perhaps that will help you decide which workout would be most appealing to you. If you still need more help after that then please post again. Take Care!

Hi,

I wanted to let you know that I do exactly as Cathe suggested and that I have most of her step tapes and its pretty easy to modify and make them low impact. Sometimes she shows options, but when she dosn't I just take out all the jumps and hops and believe me, you still get a GREAT workout. Plus she is just plain fun and gives great cuing. I highly reccomend trying them.

Step Heat and Mega Step blast are my favorite and my first tapes I tried. Plus Step Heat has a great abs section at the end. The cool down is really fun also.

I am having tremendous knee pain and found that the cardio portion of Cathe's Wedding tape is easily modify-able. Best wishes!
