T-12 Check-in for October 28-31, 2007

T-12 Sisters:

I have been catching up on my sleep and having a blast with the 4-Day Split workouts. My computer time has been limited, so I am still check-in challenged. LOL! I am hoping to be more consistent in November. These were my workouts last week:

10-22-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Higher Intensity Step (chest and back weights first premix)

10-23-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Kickbox (legs and core weights first premix)

10-24-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Lower Intensity Step (shoulders weights first premix + calves and core)

10-25-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Boot Camp (biceps and triceps weights first premix)

10-26-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Higher Intensity Step/Lower Intensity Step (double cardio premix)

10-27-07 a.m. 4-Day Split Kickbox/Boot Camp (cardio power premix)

LIS has my all-time favorite warm-up of any workout I have ever experienced (live or on video by Cathe or anyone else). It is dancy and so much fun. I fell in love with the hip hop move during Cathe’s Friday morning step class and the Road Trip. I love the step sweep in the first combination too. HIS is a blast too! I wanted something as much fun as Cathe’s Friday morning step class on DVD, and she granted my wish with these new workouts. The choreography is creative, dancy, fresh, and fun with some of my favorite moves like mambos, cha chas, triple steps, figure 8s, power jigs, ponies, pivots, spins, and turns. I enjoyed the double cardio premix for my Friday morning cardio party. Fun, fun, fun! This premix is definitely in the same league with Rhythmic Step and Step Works and includes the fun LIS warm-up!

Boot Camp is more playful and fun than I expected it to be, and I am delighted with Kickbox. It too brings back warm memories of the Road Trip and has elements of Cardio Kicks and Kick Max. This is without a doubt my favorite kickboxing workout. I would love to have Rhythmic Step 2 as well as a long kickboxing workout similar in style and intensity to this one. I love dancy and complex step choreography, but I prefer simpler kickboxing combos so I can free my mind and focus on executing the moves with good form. This is the first kickboxing workout that makes me happy! I love Cathe’s other kickboxing workouts, but there is something special about this one.

Did I mention that I am delighted with these new workouts?! The production quality is spectacular. I feel like I am up close and personal with Cathe and the crew. These workouts are a joy and delight to watch and experience. I can tell that Cathe poured her heart and soul into these new workouts and invested a lot of creative energy in creating them.

Since there are 3 days left in this month, I am planning to experiment with the premixes and wrap up this month with a 3-day split and start fresh on the first of November with Cathe’s rotation or the series as designed. The premixes for a 3-day split are short enough to give me time for cardio too.

My weekend eating was not perfect, but I did not indulge in any junk this weekend. That is progress with plenty of room for improvement!

T-12 Check-in

Good morning! Where are all my T-12 check-in sisters this week? Since there were only 3 days left in this month, I did the premixes for a 3-day split for variety. I did the back and biceps premix Monday morning and enjoyed it as much as the original chest and back workout. I did the lower body premix yesterday morning (which includes the calf work from Lower Intensity Step) and prefer the premix so I can have a complete leg workout in one day. I was not as crazy about the chest, shoulders, and triceps premix I did this morning. I had to keep switching my risers from the step for incline chest work to the high step for shoulder work. Not to mention, 3 body parts in one day is more than my attention span can handle! It is nice to have these premixes for variety, but I will most likely stick with the 4-day split format most weeks. I have been dragging my wagon this week and not doing any cardio. Oh my! I am having cardio withdrawals. I need a burst of energy! I shared in Open Discussion that I was shocked Monday when I stepped on the scale. I gained 10 pounds the first week of this heavy lifting rotation. Eek! My weight is still up this morning. I may go to my friend’s cardio boot camp class at the club after work to sweat it out! The rest of this week will be cardio, cardio, and more cardio. I need a Cathe cardio fix! Hopefully, Cathe will have time to post the November rotation today. I am looking forward to seeing what she cooks up for us!

My precious nephew was born this week! He arrived 2 weeks early and weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces. Meet my beloved Grant:

Hi, Heather!

I'm debating what to do today - may take it as a rest day prior to Cathe's November Rotation, which I'm looking forward to seeing.

Don't know why I'm so extra tired, but I couldn't drag my tail out of bed today...Work has been fun but hectic.

Congratulations on the new baby nephew!! That's really fun.

Have fun with the cardio class at the gym tonight, if you go. It sounds like a great and productive way to spend Halloween }( }( }( }(

Here I am Heather! LOL! Still catching up on things after my busy weekend. DS keeps me busy driving him everywhere but guess what? He got his license today YAY!

You are doing great with all that weight work - WAY TO GO!! Are you going to start the November rotation tomorrow or on Monday? I am going to follow the November rotation - this is the first time ever that I am not doing my own rotation but November looks so great I have to try it. I will miss my S&H and GS's but I'm going to stick it out. I'm so happy Cathe put a stretch day in each week because I really need to continue to work on flexibility! Have fun at your bootcamp tonight! Your new baby nephew is adorable! Does he live close to you?
