"Supersize Me"

RE: Hey Ruth!

Just read this thread...what can i say??? What can i add???

Firstly, 5,000 calories is alot of food and depending on several factors, can lead to weight grain (regardless of the source). It is far easier to get fat on burgers and cheese than on that amount of vegetables (it would take 15lbs plus of veg to get that many calories). So i'm not saying that you wouldn't gain weight on 5,000 a day. What i'm saying is that his liver was very, very messed up. That just ain't gonna happen on a "healthy" diet even on 5,000 calories a day. It was the food that he was consuming that caused these problems. The fat, sugar, processed junk. 5,000 calories of fruit, vegetables, and lean meats might have made him gain weight but thats about it.

I think it's a shame that McDonalds are stopping the super size option. We don't have to buy it. Or eat it. It's "OUR" choice. I can say "no thank you" if i like. I don't have to have the chips if i don't want to.

We all have the option to say "No".

No. Yes, you are right! That was very easy! I'll add you to the list of people who are missing my point that's it's a contributing factor and more dangerous to some than others. :D This study might be interesting to some of you although it's highly technical.
