superglue didn't work

My rubber matting is peeling off my stepbench. I tried supergluing it back on, but it continues to peel. Any suggestions to repair my step would be most appreciated!

Try using Rubber Cement. You could pick it up at any hardware store.

Okay, this is not the most attractive solution but duct tape works. . .honest!

I gave up over a year ago trying to glue my step and decided to tape over the seams on top. It works like a charm. After 6-8 months of usage the tape started to wear down so I tore it off and put on new tape. Just make sure when you tape it that you make it long enough to cover the entire top seam and wrap around the bottom. I taped the right and left side of the step and then noticed the front and back sides were also starting to peel so I taped those as well.

I admit this solution is not for everyone. Some may not like how it looks, but it's functional and cheap.:7

My husband is using "Pliobond" on my step. He's thinks it is the best adhesive product. We're doing it in stages (one section at a time) and so far it is about 80% effective. I'm hoping a repeat treatment will get it all tacked down. If not-I'd thought about duct tape-glad to know it works.

I'm not proud - I love duct tape. I'm ashamed I didn't think of it myself.

You know, duct tape IS like The Force - it's dark on one side, light on the other, and holds the universe together.

I had the same problem and my husband used liquid nails. We peeled the rubber back a little more and then squeezed it in and put my 20 lb Db on it over night. Good to go the next day and no problem since. That was about a year ago.

Now see, I would have approached this problem differently. If my step started peeling, I would use it as my golden opportunity to buy a new gray and black one which I have been coveting ever since Cathe switched her color scheme! LOL!
